    Okay I see it now, and I'm using it to mount my Nimbus 26 (I'm 5'7") with the seat 41 inches off the ground. Coming up out of that little side tilt makes a big difference in stabilizing the wheel on the ground. The direction of movement is nearly perpendicular to the wheel's plane and that gives time to stick the landing on the pedal and get rolling forward under control. It's really helpful, and I keep imagining this and your angled mount video. Thank you Liz!

    It seems like the 36 would be very difficult on the trails because of the higher center of gravity! Good jerb!

    This is a fantastic and extremely durable ruclips.net/user/postUgkx4e2fa6x27dF7shCelntq0ZIKt4N0jELI unicycle. This was my first unicycle and I have really thrashed this thing for the past eight months or so and it has stood up very well. The only thing that has broken are the plastic pedals, they take a beating as you learn to ride, but an upgrade to metal pedals is fairly inexpensive and pretty necessary for most any unicycle. I have since acquired a 36 inch Coker for commuting and having ridden that I realized that the saddle on this unicycle can be a bit uncomfortable after a few hours riding, but still it is a great unicycle to start out on.

    @Liz wilson, nice video! I just got the new nightfox model that has the brake mount already built into the lower leg. Which make/model of disc brake do you have on your setup/recommend? Also what type pressures do you prefer for road/touring vs muni?

    Did you custom build your nightfox? Because I can't figure out how to get it with the green rim. And if you did custom build it, which saddle did you get for the nightfox frame? (Because I can't tell if it uses a standard saddle 4 bolt mount)

    • @Lizwilsonunicycle
      @Lizwilsonunicycle  10 лет назад

      Yes, it was custom built. It's a Nightfox frame and seat and the rest of it is oracle stock, the rim, inboard disk brake, it's an Oregon hub to allow the inboard brake.

    • @jonasholloway5431
      @jonasholloway5431 10 лет назад

      Did you get the saddle on unicycle.com? I can't find the black and green gel saddle

    • @Lizwilsonunicycle
      @Lizwilsonunicycle  10 лет назад

      UDC built it all for me. I believe the nimbus green/blk seat comes with Nightfox frame and they don't have individual ones for sale. Just call and ask. They are super helpful :)

    • @Lizwilsonunicycle
      @Lizwilsonunicycle  10 лет назад +1

      It's a 4 bolt standard mount as I've seen other seats on the night fox. It just doesn't have a seat post. Bolts directly to the frame.

    Brakes no brakes? Looks like there is a lot of momentum going on there- can you get away with not having brakes on light trails or did you find you used them a lot? Have brakes on my KH 26er and never use them outside of severe decents.

    • @Lizwilsonunicycle
      @Lizwilsonunicycle  9 лет назад +1

      +Vaughn Tiedeman
      Lots of folks use a 36 w/o brakes. Its what you are used too. I learned to ride with a brake from the start and found that a brake saves my leg strength for hill climbs and longer distance. I always use a brake on downhill whether its Muni or paved as it keeps me in control and my mind doesn't freak out about being launched off ;)
