It's crazy to think that both Shout and THEATER of pain both went platinum pretty quickly and WASPS kickass first few albums went gold?? Seems like they were bigger than they actually were..
Randy had really good vocals that complemeted Blackie's singing. I wish these guys could have stayed together for more W.A.S.P. records/albums. But that is part of the music industry, bands change up, and people change over time.
@@juhabeck Yes it remains their most popular album to date due to time only. The album didn't sell well due to Capitol suppressing it in 89. The crimson Idol did come back in sales due to the tour.
HC didn't go Gold in the US. Some Hit Parader interview Blackie said around 400,000 copies. Short of gold. Probably sold better outside of the US; they did well in Europe and other areas. Crimson Idol didn't chart in the US. I check with Wikipedia. They are usually correct. TY
@@jiverdude2775 Yes! They did great outside of the US for decades. Now theyre back with their first US Tour in god knows how long and its completely sold out. Theyre playing big theaters as well.
Between Chris and Randy. Randy was the far more talented of the two. Not just playing but his vision for the future. Holmes was a yes man. He wasn't smart enough to see what was happening where Randy was
Not entirely true man, Chris is much more technical thus talented in my book. However you are right about him being a yes man. Sadly he's paying for that mistake ever since.
Yeah but it didnt help that Chris couldnt read or write, and was always drunk. He made himself vulnerable to the vultures in the music industry. Blackie helped him out the best he could but when people don't want to get help or become better, they become a weight that will cause you to drown as well. Ever try to save someone who was drowning but that person doesnt know how to swim? And while youre helping that person get to shore, theyre pulling you down under the water, and making it 2x difficult???
@@allthecolors6900 But didn't Blackie keep all the rights to the songs and never gave Chris a dime? I thought he fucked him over but Chris wasn't sober enough to give a shit.
@@ragnarragnarson5184 I can say whatever I want because it's my opinion that Randy was and is the better player, just as it is your opinion to see it differently. So don't tell me I "know very little," when my eyes and ears form that opinion. IDGAF who your friends with. I also have friends and relatives who have sold millions of albums and toured the world, but I don't need to try to make myself sound more important because I know them. Why do I care who you know and who you don't? And I should be careful of what I say? What? You going to try and beat me up because I think someone is a better guitar player than Chris? Get over yourself.
It disgusts me how Blackie treated Chris and Randy. Tony Richards I can understand as he was a full on junky nodding off in recording sessions. But Chris and Randy going was all about Blackie seeing $$$ signs and wanting full control. Apparently Gene Simmons advised Blackie to get rid of Chris. Funnily enough after he got rid of them the band never really went anywhere again. Chris's guitar sound was integral to the bands sound
randy and chris should just start a new band- get tony back on drums, or frankie banali, and a singer that can bring it, and put out a new album to compete with blackie's new one due for next summer. stop all this, "blackie's a jerk" crap, just make a new wasp album without him, and don't call it wasp. easy. done. people would be all over that.

We love you Randy
Nothing beats the 80's what a time like no other..
Go Randy Go! 🙋👍 Yeah! When ego, fame and money rules honesty and friendship is out the window! First and second album are tops!
Headless Children is my favorite too
Randy did great vocals too
ask him about working with David Wayne in 88 or 89
He had the coolest muffler guitar.
His demon skull guitar is classic!

Man...These guys gotta make that money now...they ain't gettin' any younger!
He has a really cool autograph.
No tony yes
No randy maybe
No Holmes? Never
Absolutely NEVER.
Damn Rights
Headless didn't go gold!! However 1992 Crimson Idol DID! It was W.A.S.P. LAST CHARTING ALBUM.
But worldwide The Headless Children has sold the most.

You don't own the name man ?? But all the other members that are out of the band you could put something together $$$ go for it!!!!

Is the story of WASP the story f Jesus on the cross.
Because WASP blows in comparison
