- Welcome to a new trip report and today we fly with Lufthansa in economy class from Franz Josef Strauss airport in Munich Germany MUC to Los Angeles LAX . We fly the legendary Airbus 340!
The Munchen (Munich) International Airport was a much larger airport than we thought it would be. We flew down from Copenhagen in the morning and had just 1 hour 40 minutes for transfer so no time for lounge visit at MUC

You got to ride on the A340 to LAX before they discontinued its use on this route! Great video!
For an 11and half hour flight, the food offered was meagre, to say the least, with no choices given.
I've never been on the A340 but I think I'd get a thrill just to walk downstairs to the lavatory.
Since Covid it’s been harder to find these big 4 engine heavies, let alone fly on one. This looks like an older product which has seen better days. Those A340-600’s are such beautiful beasts.

Amazing video - thank you! I've been desperate for a more recent flight report with the A340 from MUC to LAX as I'll be doing that route in 3 months time. Update: they have changed my flight to A350 BOOOO :(
1. How do you compare this aircraft to the Airbus 380?
2. Researching the connecting airport 's layout is a great suggestion. A couple of months ago my housemate had to fly from upstate New York to California with a tight connection in Detroit and my checking that airport map for her prior to departure reduced the stress tremendously.
We havent flown the AIrbus 380 yet, its on our "bucket list":>)
@@theretiredcoupletravelsthe5603 If you fly on British Airways be sure to snag a seat in the upper deck. BA has premium economy and some economy seats there. I don't know about the configuration on other airlines.
This Aeroflot A320 is still sitting there on the apron. Now it is closed down with pylons 🤣
