I am afraid big parts of this special sketch are lost in translation. It gains so much of its absurdity from the stark contrast between the highbrow, very formal choice of words the conversation is held in, and the utter childishness of the behavior at display.
I’m sure it does. Thanks for your comment!
This sketch is from the year 1978, way before Seinfeld was on air. :)
Loriot surely was a genius! His humor is timeless. :)
Victor von Bülow ist the father of intelligent humor.
Like Heinz Erhardt is the father of word plays.
And Karl Valentin is the Father of Slapstick.
Die Ente bleibt draußen!
😂🐥
Ich bade immer mit Ente!
Lassen Sie sofort die Ente zu Wasser!
Yeah... Loriot is special. He always finds a different way to show us the absurdity of everyday. 🙂
Hello there.
This is a wonderful parody of parliament and negotiations between two factions of political parties.
With love from Germany ❤🤘🏻
Wow you’re so right 🤯
5:12 And that´s how "Die Ente bleibt draussen!" became a saying.
He was a great artist and comedian.
I recently stumbled across a video, where someone made this skit into a new one. But this time with Gandalf and Saruman at the top of Saruman's tower and Sauron's eye was the heater^^
Moin!😉 Nice reaction, keep going!
Thank you, I will
Funny ! Love it!
I'm glad!
5:47 “Sozi” is the common German term for Sozialdemokrat, i.e. someone that represents the social democratic party or sympathises with its ideology. That is not really the same as a socialist. Well, it might be in a specific case, but socialist East Germany was very different from the social democratic West Germany.
Must be a hotel in Brussels...
What I love about this Skit is, that it is basically exactly how Arguments between Politicians or Corporations went down. You want something from me, but I'm not giving it to you, but we would benefit both from it, etc. etc. xDD
Aber ich kann länger als Sie!
Haha
I bet you say that too all the girls :D
@@spitefulwar In Germany we say:“Ein Schelm, wer Böses dabei denkt“
Those are rogues themselves, who associate something evil.
You say Moin, that is Low German, spoken in Northern Germany
I think it is a parody on the behaviour in our parliament in the 1970s and 80s and maybe still today. That name Müller-Lüdenscheidt gives it away. Müller is a common name and when there are more than one with the same name sitting in parliament they add the name of their constituency or city. In this case the city of Lüdenscheidt. Just oppose for the spite of it but always with some manners... negotiations (about ridiculous things sometimes), refuse just because the other side did it and not you yourself, absurd argumentation and so on.
Hi, Mace! I don't know if you really meant ME by "the person who sent this to you". I made this suggestion in the comments.
But if that's true, then thank you very much! That's cool!😀🤗
Thanks for the idea!
I love how both are acting like 10 year old, but with the mannerism of accomplished men. It shows men never really grow up. 🙂
6:10 He actually calls him Sozi which is a term used for social-democrats so the translation to socialist is a bit erroneous.
A very kafkaesk situation, two honourable gentlemen behaving in a very childish way, using made up words like "Fremdwanne"impossible to translate properly.and -it ends in a dick contest,of course.
