I’ve heard from RUclipsrs like Jerusha how nice in quality Louis Vuitton zips are. How smooth they are and buttery. I purchased a mini pochette from them in 2017, and I wasn’t impressed with the zip smoothness. I’ve had Michael Kors and Kate spade wallets that had a smoother zip. I have a few coach pieces that are also smooth to zip. When it comes to Louis Vuitton, I want zip closures for slgs. I’m afraid of their constant glazing issues with slgs that have a snap and rely on flipping open and close. It sucks that one cannot rely on their zippers either.
Returned a Alma bb it was hard to zip unzip...but also super jagged when reaching into my bag. My friend recently returned her speedy 20 due to zipper scratching her channel wallet. We call it shark teeth. Wax was not going to remedy shark teeth zippers. I'm glad that they fixed your wallets.
Your friend must’ve been so disappointed that the zipper scratched up her items! You definitely don’t want to have your hand scratched up just by reaching in your bag either, ugh.
I have a double zip pochette that has a smooth zipper but my issue is with the zipper tape ends. They are sharp and snagged and pilled my clothes. Not sure if this is common with all LV bags that come with zippers as this was my first ever purchase from the brand. I am very disappointed as my other bags from Coach, MK, etc never have these issues. Now I have a very expensive piece that I can’t really use without causing damage to my clothes.
That's so disappointing to hear! I'll have to have a closer look at my mom's double zip pochette the next time I see her. You would think they would use better quality materials or think up a better design so these little annoyances don't happen!
Thanks for your video - good comparison to present here. I wonder if they told you what specific wax product they applied to yours. I was planning to use a candle wax but didnt want to apply it to my newly LV purchase. In the past, I had to return and exchange my orders from LV online due to zipper. It's frustrating to know we're paying thousands and only to deal with a crappy zipper. Seriously, they should put their QA to work. -sigh-
I have used the Reynolds wax paper works well nothing impressive, but they improve compared to how they arrive. With the Recto Verso card holder it is a bit more difficult because of the curve of the L but in terms of zippers in a straight line it works better. Please, if you know what they used, please let us know. Thanks for the video
All I remember was her holding a big yellow brick looking piece of wax. Another associate discretely told her to take the item in the back room to fix it lol. I will definitely let you know if I find out what it was!
The zippers are so annoying. I actually just watched another lady use a birthday candle on the zipper and it worked on her LV bag. I tried it on my speedy 30b and it worked. Not really sure of the long-term results though.

No, I didn't find out what type of wax exactly, but I'll be experimenting with a few soon!
