I really like the writing they did, some of it is subtle and poetic. I'm glad the art of language hasn't disappeared, it's just showing up in unexpected places. The detail of graffiti written in so many different languages is cool, too, showing how many different kinds of people were on the ship.
Supervisor Dallas is the real MVP. Cutting off his own limbs to ensure at no point can his corpse harm others. The sheer willpower it would take to do that is legendary.

IIRC right after finding that log in the original game, a slasher missing all but one limb crawls towards Isaac for a go at him. It's highly implied to be Dallas, who died of blood loss, shock or a combination of both before he could sever his last arm and got infected.
It's so sweet that Nicole recognises Issac even though he's completely obscured in an engineering suit that also looks different from when she would have last seen it. That's some real love there.
You know now Isaac can actually talk Nicole is a lot more creepy. There is clearly something wrong with how she acts now, especially with how the audio logs were very different.
props to the voice actress for being able to pull that off with mostly just tone and inflection. She sounds totally normal in the logs but talks like an entirely different person when Isaac meets up with her through subtle changes in Nicole's speech.

I wasn't really looking, so I just assumed it was that weird language they use in the game sometimes, and got super fucking confused when he walked closer and I suddenly had the word "forpulte" in my face 😂
Hearing Supervisor Dallas literally rip his own legs off was (I like saving) really disturbing. Really hammers home the fact that these are ordinary people forced to (I like saving) endure the extraordinary horror of the Dead Space universe.
@@OnePolishMoFo but you got to remember they did add dialogue for Isaac and completely changed his face which is a little jarring initially, and some of the areas have been slightly modified from the original layouts. It's not entirely shocking that he might forget some things considering the changes that have been made even though they might be small changes it does throw you off a little. I played the original the same day that I got the remake and it is a little confusing with all the extra lore and dialogue they added to the game and the changes to layout is small but it's still enough to throw you off.

I love how even though Mark missed the first point to pick up the "you are not authorized" quest. The game compensates for that and gives him the quest anyway, just so he and other players won't potentially miss out on it
It's incredible how it's nearly like a Netflix series you know when the episode is coming out, there's a dead space video today and everybody knows that tomorrow will be either a different horror game or something else and the day after it's a dead space video and i love it, because everytime i come back from work at my internship i know markiplier has a dead space video waiting for me
6:00 it actually wasn't that long since shit went down. In the movie it shows how everything starts and just as the movie ends when things are truly fucked and the security chief woman vents the airlocks killing herself and a bunch of necromorphs, that's the moment Isaac and his group start hailing the ship to dock. Which considering all she knew, had she just waited a bit she could have grouped up with Isaac and prevented a lot of shit from happening, kinda makes the story all the more depressing really. Kinda like that mist movie where the guys kid and friends all shoot themselves when they run out of gas and just after he sees the military start pushing in fighting the mist and saving people. Like had you just waited a couple minutes you'd of been fine. But yeah, like literally when Isaac lands on the ship there are still tons of people left alive hold up in different parts of the ship, so that explains all the screams still going on throughout the game.
With how much effort was put into a unique death animation for everything that can damage you in the original game.. I was expecting the door to sqoosh him the first time he did it.

I’m always surprised that so few people uses the pulse to set up traps and the like. One pulse bomb next to an explosive in a hallway is a great way to break mob rushes.
You're right. If the animated Dead Space movies are considered canon, the miners did actually put up a relatively good fight against the Necros, if only for a while. They had plasma cutters, too, but theirs looked more like chainsaws, and they swung them like lightsabers. They ultimately failed due to the marker's influence causing them to hallucinate, turn on each other, or make other equally stupid decisions.
I like seeing how the people actually put up a fight. Mark had a good point when he mentioned the miners probably putting up the best fight. The obvious first choice would have been Security with actual weapons but it would make sense they’d be taken out first, not lasting the longest. My other guess would’ve been the engineers like Isaac. Their downfall was their duty to keep the ship running. I love how you follow Temple through his voice records and really get the sense that without him and his crew the ship wouldn’t have lasted long enough for Isaac and his team to get there. The ship was sabotaged and damaged throughout the chaos and Temple was able to keep it up til Isaac showed up and had to pick up where he left off. I love how much of this stuff they added to the game. It’s no longer just Isaac, the silent protagonist, and his ragtag crew of two others. Now it truly feels like the Ishimura had people in it.
Exactly, friend. I hope it wasnt Temple who was dead in the class 3 office by the main control room, as Jake's story lead to him becoming one of Mercer's new test subjects in crew quarters I think. This remake has made some creative liberties with the original but much more immersive and alive as well
@@loginlover seriously. I don’t know why but I actually enjoyed Temple’s story the most. He just felt like he was another Isaac. Just some guy trying to find his loved one but had the responsibility of keeping literally everyone alive. I don’t think the ship would’ve lasted if it wasn’t for Temple and his crew. Especially with finding Elizabeth alive I just know Temple is probably dead and she will be too *cries*
@@Kaptain13x I think I'm a big fan of Temple for all the reasons you mentioned but also how he steps into the "Acting Chief Engineer" role immediately and treats it like the responsibility it is, even in the face of the Marker's bullshit. To Temple, the Ishimura WILL be fixed and come home and it'll just take some elbow grease to do it. Loved hearing his logs thoroughly pissed off cussing at the engines and command systems just like any other mechanic would after spending all day trying to fix a POS car
Anyone noticed on 44:13 when Nicole was talking with Kyne and suddenly the dialogue switch to Nicole and Isaac even though the recordings is in the second audio log? Nice details for that Isaac is getting crazy after he got infected with the marker.

I have to admit, I loved the delivery when Isaac talks about the miners traps. At least to me it clearly shows his respect for the mining crew and how they held out rather long in comparison. I mean overall there is alot of storytelling compared to the original in the logs and sidequests, which is cool, giving you more insight what people were doing, especially what Nicole tried to do and you get way more insight in the doings of Mercer. In the original he more or less only seemed like a Unitologist nutjob, in the remake he still is, but you see more of his depravity and experiments how he created the hunter. Kyne on the other hand was changed to feel more helpful, but I wondered if Isaac at some point perceives him more friendly or helpful, since they both are under the influence of the marker, and the marker WANTS them to work together. The only character who had some better lines in my opinion was Kendra, there was more emotion in the original in some of her lines compared to now.
Supervise Dallas was a big damn hero in the end. My man trapped himself and cut off his own limbs one at a time to save everyone else that he could. He went HARD.
Not only to the Necromorphs remind me of the Flood, but their music ques remind me of the Flood as well. They're both so uncanny, especially the violins everywhere. 🤣

after watching all of his previous dead space playthroughs, i have come to the conclusion that my favorite thing he does is accidentally grabbing random body parts and getting annoyed by it lol. every “this is just a torso 😡” and “no! 😡 that’s an arm! 😡” sends me into giggles

The best thing about 1 hour long videos is that: you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the video while eating, or if your board just start watching an old letz play of Mark's, I recommend for people to watch Mark's The Forest series with Jack from 2014 and early 2015 to his last The Forest series with Bob and Wade from 2020 to early 2021, also the best part about Mark's 1 hour to 9 hour long videos from his past letz plays is that if you didn't watch his live streams including his charity live streams you can easily go back to watch them..

I'm kinda sad that Mark never dies in these playthroughs. I understand it slows down the playthrough, but seeing his reactions to *all* of a game like this would be nice.
1:08:32 holy moly, this feels so real. Who needs ray tracing when you already know how something should graphically look in real life. The whole point of ray tracing, gets demolished here.
Mark, the 'Master security' clearance is a side quest you start in the captains nest, where you met up with Hammond on the bridge. The computer screen on the right side of the nest triggers the quest. Also, you can use the vent fans with the telekinesis to injure the necromorphs
The details of the thumbnails are amazing! Good job editors! I mean the letters becoming more cryptic and marks face getting beat up as the series progresses are really fun details I like. Mark the master override is a side quest you need to go back to the bridge to the captains nest and interact with the console across from Hammond to unlock the quest. It lets you get better upgrades later on.
To answer your question at the beginning of the video YES necromorphs are in fact alive as they are a parisitic orginisam that simply reanimate dead tissue. A good comparison for whats going on is actionally in anouther one of your favorite game Mass Effect 2's lazorus project too bring commander Shepard back to life though they used chemicals not parisites it is the same process just on a much more aggressive scale, but thats to be expected as necromorph do in fact hail from the cthulian verse, more spasificly the domain of Nightmare.
Mark confused by the lasers, yet not realizing that's actually a secondary of a weapon he sold which is utterly amazing for clearing out entire rooms for very little ammo.

I’m always surprised that so few people uses the pulse to set up traps and the like. One pulse bomb next to an explosive in a hallway is a great way to break mob rushes.

You're right. If the animated Dead Space movies are considered canon, the miners did actually put up a relatively good fight against the Necros, if only for a while. They had plasma cutters, too, but theirs looked more like chainsaws, and they swung them like lightsabers. They ultimately failed due to the marker's influence causing them to hallucinate, turn on each other, or make other equally stupid decisions.
I like seeing how the people actually put up a fight. Mark had a good point when he mentioned the miners probably putting up the best fight. The obvious first choice would have been Security with actual weapons but it would make sense they’d be taken out first, not lasting the longest. My other guess would’ve been the engineers like Isaac. Their downfall was their duty to keep the ship running. I love how you follow Temple through his voice records and really get the sense that without him and his crew the ship wouldn’t have lasted long enough for Isaac and his team to get there. The ship was sabotaged and damaged throughout the chaos and Temple was able to keep it up til Isaac showed up and had to pick up where he left off. I love how much of this stuff they added to the game. It’s no longer just Isaac, the silent protagonist, and his ragtag crew of two others. Now it truly feels like the Ishimura had people in it.
Exactly, friend. I hope it wasnt Temple who was dead in the class 3 office by the main control room, as Jake's story lead to him becoming one of Mercer's new test subjects in crew quarters I think. This remake has made some creative liberties with the original but much more immersive and alive as well
@@loginlover seriously. I don’t know why but I actually enjoyed Temple’s story the most. He just felt like he was another Isaac. Just some guy trying to find his loved one but had the responsibility of keeping literally everyone alive. I don’t think the ship would’ve lasted if it wasn’t for Temple and his crew. Especially with finding Elizabeth alive I just know Temple is probably dead and she will be too *cries*
@@Kaptain13x I think I'm a big fan of Temple for all the reasons you mentioned but also how he steps into the "Acting Chief Engineer" role immediately and treats it like the responsibility it is, even in the face of the Marker's bullshit. To Temple, the Ishimura WILL be fixed and come home and it'll just take some elbow grease to do it. Loved hearing his logs thoroughly pissed off cussing at the engines and command systems just like any other mechanic would after spending all day trying to fix a POS car

I got the same glitch in the same spot in my playthrough as well.

Anyone noticed on 44:13 when Nicole was talking with Kyne and suddenly the dialogue switch to Nicole and Isaac even though the recordings is in the second audio log? Nice details for that Isaac is getting crazy after he got infected with the marker.

I have to admit, I loved the delivery when Isaac talks about the miners traps.
At least to me it clearly shows his respect for the mining crew and how they held out rather long in comparison.
I mean overall there is alot of storytelling compared to the original in the logs and sidequests, which is cool, giving you more insight what people were doing, especially what Nicole tried to do and you get way more insight in the doings of Mercer. In the original he more or less only seemed like a Unitologist nutjob, in the remake he still is, but you see more of his depravity and experiments how he created the hunter.
Kyne on the other hand was changed to feel more helpful, but I wondered if Isaac at some point perceives him more friendly or helpful, since they both are under the influence of the marker, and the marker WANTS them to work together.
The only character who had some better lines in my opinion was Kendra, there was more emotion in the original in some of her lines compared to now.
Every time I get home from school I always lay down with some snacks and binge watch Mark. 😂
Supervise Dallas was a big damn hero in the end. My man trapped himself and cut off his own limbs one at a time to save everyone else that he could. He went HARD.
Not only to the Necromorphs remind me of the Flood, but their music ques remind me of the Flood as well. They're both so uncanny, especially the violins everywhere. 🤣

after watching all of his previous dead space playthroughs, i have come to the conclusion that my favorite thing he does is accidentally grabbing random body parts and getting annoyed by it lol. every “this is just a torso 😡” and “no! 😡 that’s an arm! 😡” sends me into giggles

That was a constant fear of mine when i first played Dead Space, that any kiosk could be a trap or malfunction and the doors would open and Isaac just got bisected.
every intro involves a scenario that is more and more mundane and i love it, anything can be made scary with a well placed scream

The best thing about 1 hour long videos is that: you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the video while eating, or if your board just start watching an old letz play of Mark's, I recommend for people to watch Mark's The Forest series with Jack from 2014 and early 2015 to his last The Forest series with Bob and Wade from 2020 to early 2021, also the best part about Mark's 1 hour to 9 hour long videos from his past letz plays is that if you didn't watch his live streams including his charity live streams you can easily go back to watch them..
I've been binge watching all of his dead space videos, and this is a great way to start my day

Mark, the 'Master security' clearance is a side quest you start in the captains nest, where you met up with Hammond on the bridge. The computer screen on the right side of the nest triggers the quest.
Also, you can use the vent fans with the telekinesis to injure the necromorphs

Mark the master override is a side quest you need to go back to the bridge to the captains nest and interact with the console across from Hammond to unlock the quest. It lets you get better upgrades later on.

To answer your question at the beginning of the video YES necromorphs are in fact alive as they are a parisitic orginisam that simply reanimate dead tissue. A good comparison for whats going on is actionally in anouther one of your favorite game Mass Effect 2's lazorus project too bring commander Shepard back to life though they used chemicals not parisites it is the same process just on a much more aggressive scale, but thats to be expected as necromorph do in fact hail from the cthulian verse, more spasificly the domain of Nightmare.
Mark confused by the lasers, yet not realizing that's actually a secondary of a weapon he sold which is utterly amazing for clearing out entire rooms for very little ammo.
