I’m so glad you love Grover. His portrayal in the show is excellent

It really is! At first I thought he was going to be a sheepish coward type, but there's actually a lot of idealistic qualities for the audience to reflect on and strive for in their own life. Namely empathy. I've been blown away by the performance as well as the characterization of Grover!

I was big into greek god growing up and never read the books..i wish i would have been told to cause i was a child and now a adult with ADHD. It's not too late. I know people who read it in their adult years and still enjoyed. But awww, I'm also from Hades cabin. I'm glad that you're loving the show and that your husband is also having fun with it.

I've read it as a + 40 years old mum with my Adhd kid and enjoyed it. (I HIDE TO READ THEM)
But some other series are more adult-friendly : Magnus Chase ?
The first PJO book is an easy reading : maybe in one vacation Day ?

Grover appreciation!! I love the Pan storyline too. It's very interesting to me.

It's such an interesting juxtaposition because of how prevalent the gods are in modern society walking amongst the people, so a god that is absent, and the mystery surrounding it has such an immediate allure. I'm excited to see where the storyline goes there!

I really liked your talk about gods/humaness and Grover as a friend. In general it's really interesting listening to you :)

This is such a wonderful comment. I'm always so anxious to share my thoughts, which is why they are always peppered with nervous laughter. But, I always think that it helps show it comes from a place of authenticity. It used to bother me, but now I think it shows that I care.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know that you care too!

this first season has set so much up for the future that Im amazed some non book readers havent been asking more questions from a lot of the currently-loose threads. I know my parents had a bunch of questions that I couldnt answer because of spoilers

the kids in each cabins don’t take sides. whatever side the godly parent is on is what side the kids are on. they choose either Zeus or Poseidon

Right, I think my use of the term "a house divided" might have been a little confusing, as I meant it in the more general sense of the unity of THE CAMP, over specific gods' cabins.
It just struck me as an "oh yeah" kind of moment when I realized these kids that have been together would inevitably be drawing battle lines right there at camp, and how dark of an idea that is. How quickly the turn would happen out of devotion to their respective godly parents. Wild.

@@Noxiddarsomething mentioned in the book that was kinda funny, is Athena's cabin sided with Zeus (Athena has a rivalry with Poseidon) and Ares sided with Poseidon, to which Percy "shuddered to think Clarisse would be on his father's side" lol

Yeah, percy’s mom can also see through the mist. But she’s not a seer. Luke’s mom “trying” to tempt the mist and there’s something to do with an oracle and etc etc it ends badly for her. pretty much why luke blamed hermes, well its a long story hopefully if they made it until the last season you’ll know 😂 unless you want to read the book ofc.

With every episode, I become increasingly excited to dive into the universe of Percy Jackson and really dig into the narrative!
Glad you are enjoying the journey so far. I am as well!

Another great reaction! I love how observant you are, omg. You noticed a lot of details some reactors normally don't catch (will put timestamps on it below), specially those that haven't read the books. I'm very excited for the last two eps!
5:47 It's nice that you picked up on this! Take note of this thought for the future episode(?)/seasons cause I'm sure this will be relevant for something in the future.
7:43 Awww! Love some Grover appreciation. He's honestly underrated. I guess because Percy and Annabeth both have strong personality and Grover's just there being the heart of the group. You know, easy to overlook. That's why I love the changes they are doing in the show, they're fleshing his character more.
8:25 Oh, you're gonna love the second season then. So excited. Hopefully they don't take long filming and producing it. 😅
12:32 Another great observation. This sort of observation I only hear from podcasters of the show and it's very nice that you notice these things too.
13:06 Yes! I reallg like Lin's acting here. Love that you were able to catch it. Hermes has always been one of the gods in the percy jackson universe that I find interesting. It's so hard not to spoil anything with the amount of things you notice that are possibly relevant in the future aaaaah.
20:26 That's so true! Fun fact: Walker (actor who plays Percy) actually filmed all underwater scenes in a very huge tank! He got his diver's license while filming the show. To qoute their director of photography Pier Gil, "He was able to breathe, get his bubbles out, then he's talking. Not breathing, not making air, staying there for almost 90 seconds." I'm still blown away how at a young age he's already so professional and so dedicated to his craft.
Also, like what I said from a previous video, I'll be seated for any percy jackson content in the future.

There is some really lofty praise here, and I feel completely undeserving of it, though I am incredibly humbled to receive it!
Pretty much since I was a kid and went to the library and saw a Newbery Medal emblazoned on a book cover, I've always been in love with the notion of writing and storytelling. Coupled with the fact that I think on some level I am an intuitive empath, I really enjoy exploring character and motivation. I'm endlessly fascinating in the psychology of "why we do what we do", and the most surprising thing to me about Percy Jackson (even without having read the books) is how much empathy, motivation, and psychology drive so much of the narrative.
I don't really analyze, as I've said, I mainly appreciate.
Amd there is so much to pick up and appreciate in every episode, which I ultimately believe will translate to being the same across every page and chapter of every book from the mind of Rick Riordan.
      I'm simply enjoying the journey.
I'm so honored and happy to see that you are enjoying that journey of appreciation and adventure alongside me!
      🙏
