It's like being an adult... and having a nice expensive car.... and then one day it breaks after 20 long years of a loving relationship and so you go to your car dealership and that really nice guy offers you a little 10 volt 5 MPH little toy plastic car as a replacement with a bucket seat and little horse shoe shaped stearing wheal .... AND WE ALL LOOSE OUR $HlT!!!! T_T
That's not a solution, it's an alternative. The main reason I like my ThinkPad is the trackpoint, which only works well with those real buttons I had to install on this model. Otherwise I'd just use any computer with any USB mouse.

That touchpad is very similar to my L450 ThinkPad released in 2016.
I just bought a T450s right away lol. Great laptop tbh, amazing screen for this price.
The part we want to see is access to the trackpad.

Why did you decide to replace the trackpad?
It would be better to buy a thinkpad that already has trackpoint buttons
Because I didn't want to discard an otherwise good computer just because of the trackpad. It still works great after this little change.

I tried my friend's T440s. I must say, the trackpad sucks. It was springy and weird.
Which is why we change that trackpad 😀

You could save yourself the hassle, keep the original touchpoint and just use a Lenovo Thinkpad USB mouse! One more problem solved.
