These guys aren't too serious. I got to take pictures with them at Rock on the Range and we talked about Pokemon. They're actually really cool people.
Fansee 13 why? Thats them it aint that big a deal everyone is their own person. I mean imagine if they werent so serious about music maybe forever wouldnt be so good. I cant understand someone being too serious about something they love haha
Fansee 13 yea i feel ya man but maybe im biased cuz i fell in love with their music and i must admit their attitude can be cheesy. Lets just hope they keep coming out with good music
Guys, you ever get really pissed about shit that happens in society and then go do something like watch a game, wrestling or play games, whatever? I think everyone is like that. You can be really angry about shit but like shit like Pokémon. I don’t get what the big deal is.
@@ichugbacardi151 it's not about taking their career seriously, that's good
It's about taking _themselves_ to seriously. Putting on a persona for interviews to look tougher or whatever. People meet them in person and say they're cool and normal, so why be fake in a interview?
I love code orange, what act is he doing? He just loves and is serious about what he does? Who cares? Made respect for these guys
Antonio Gomez I agree 100%
A lot of hate in the comments. I actually got to meet the bassist for Code Orange after they opened for Gojira and he seemed like a really cool dude.
I think the reason he seems so serious is because Code Orange have been doing this since they were kids. They've grown up with their music, and they had to fight their way to the position their I now, so I can understand why he seems a bit defensive
Worline8628 shut up
So have plenty of other bands, yet they don't feel the need to take thenselves so seriously the way Code Orange does
They have to act like that. They used to be adventures 😂😂
@@jbasti227 Right? My friend's a great drummer, been a working musician for almost 20 years. Toured Europe, been on the cover of Decibel magazine.. and he's still unknown as fuck, and still doesn't have some entitled chip on his shoulder at all. The music industry is a cruel cruel game and tbh i feel like code orange came up with a lot of luck on their side, and they play to the core scene, which is metal's most oversaturated subgenre.
Listened to the new album yesterday and never again. They ran all those glitchy sounds and shit straight into the ground.
@@jbasti227 listen on lsd and you'll take them seriously as well
Careful not to get cut on all this edge
Mmm Angsty tofu clam
Jami is actually more humanlike of all of them, on stage all of it is cool, but on interviews it's pure cringe, chesus, check their instagram captions
i guess i see that in interviews but ive met them multiple times at shows and they're the most thankful, kind, and chill ass people to be around. idk why it seems to be like this in interviews sometimes
I remember watching an interview with Jamie and Reba from I think before I Am King was released (the interview was taken down for some reason I guess) and they seemed really outgoing and jocular. I don't understand why they think they have to put up this act to seem "dark" and "aggressive". Their music is good enough that they don't need that shit.
100% agree, like no one is impressed or thinks you're harder for being emotionless, "tough" robots. they do seem this way in interviews, but again, i met jamie after a show and he was such a chill, nice guy and i'll remember it forever. i don't get this little persona they put on in interviews lol being serious is fine, but have a little fun damn
gosh darnit… David Arquette is so great at giving interviews.
So much negativity in these comments.... I think Forever was great and I’m excited for the new album. I really don’t see the “act” everyone is obsessing over lol
Michael Rieman I love these guys and their music but I just wish they wouldn't come off as so unironcially intense/serious. It's kind of annoying. Of course, not enough to make me not enjoy their music.
I have nothing against them personally. But their whole "metal is so boring, the WORLD is so boring, we're going to bring the PAINFUL ART back to music, and be the band the world needs" kind of attitude does come off as almost comical. They need to lighten up and just play music.
I don't get it as well. The guy seems pretty chill and is just talking about album concepts
I agree completely. I love code orange
@@Retrorevelations wtf dude ksksksksks
I don't even see what half of these comments are talking about. Edge? Isn't most of the metal/hardcore community kinda "edgy"? Isn't that the point? They make ANGRY music. It only makes sense for their personas to be kinda idk, angry? I still don't see it as I have met these cats after their "crushing" SLC set a little over a year ago. Forever was a golden album and a barrier breaker for Hardcore/metal albums in this day and age. Definitely one of the best bands doing it (there aren't a lot). Code Orange. Forever.
Because it seems forced, pretentious and on top of everything weirdly defensive.
Not metal
Dominant Persona Code Orange are actually heavier than a lot of metal bands.
@@RobertoReyesChHC wtf dude skskskskks
@@sofiarune3124 Man you are etilist, you are comedian kskskks
Meh let them be young and angsty and if you don't like it don't listen to it :)
damn right dude, i fucking love this band
Triple H approves.
That's all that matters.
Code Orange is killing it.
Warning! Sharp objects inside!
sound like they have a sharp CD
wahrning
I wish I had my ears like that to hold my hair back😞
I love Code Orange's music. But, come on - stop taking yourselves so seriously, and trying to be so edgy. Some of the most brutal musicians are so upbeat and a lot of fun to be around. I can't help but image that these guys would suck to have a beer with.
Not that crazy for a straight edge band besides Shade
Vincent from Acacia is a good example
Or CJ from Thy Art
I can't say much about Jamie but Joe and Reba are some of the nicest people I've ever met, super friendly and talkative
these are my friends
Damn, why so much hate? They're awesome
Why is everyone going on about this interview being "edgy"? The guy takes his music seriously but he doesn't come off that he's trying too hard or anything. Seems pretty chill.
man I remember when they were code orange kids, I saw them at my first hardcore show in 2011 in Springdale PA back when they were just a garage band, the code orange kids are all grown up
:')
Theres no edge in this video you guys are reaching and trying to look for reasons to not like anything they do. I get it they have some bad press, but grow up
I want that cap!
0:18 the look I give my toddler when she won't stop fucking around at the store. 😂
I just hope they dont go pop on us. Their new album is gonna be good.
Lukas H If you’re talking about Forever you cannot be further from the truth. If you’re talking about Underneath, you still cannot be further from the truth. Both of those albums are so fucking heavy. Even heavier than I am King.
Well, it actually aged well
Lukas H if you think they went poppy you’ve got a fuckin brain disorder
Proud for Code Orange 💪🏻
Glad they are doing what they love. I love jamming too
Pffff. Amateurs.
Wanna get hurt by music?
Listen to lil pump
Who the fuck is lil pump?
EDsavant exactly who the fuck is lil dump?
EDsavant you are better off not knowing.
Or Justin Bieber.
Mr. Metalhorse
Although there's tons of quality,
There's no imagination or any listening for more obscure acts in your
Top Rock/Metal tracks of all time
Broaden your experiences, become less narrow minded
;~)
He’s talking about making music that means something and people crapping on them for taking one aspect of themselves seriously? Come on guys, damn.
Seems like a good dude. Love the band and the music
This comment section is bizzare asf. I really cant see any edginess or "tough guy" persona here. Just seems like a pretty normal musician interview tbh. I don't know why everyone is literally making stuff up about this video.
When he takes off his hat when talkin about DEP..LOL like a salut... Brill..
For a powerviolece/grind kind of HC-kid i think that the I Am King LP the best record that this band ever released.
Man I’m crushing on this dude hard idc 😂 he seems like a really nice and down to earth person. I’d like to meet and talk to him one day🤘🏼
*jami's serious face*
I Am King, Forever and Underneath all slay.
If he had said all this with an ounce of irony, like he is enjoying the aggression in his music for entertainment purposes, I could get what he is saying. But he seems like he really believes that what he is playing is massively subversive. I do really like their new album, but I can't help but notice this "trying to be hard" attitude.
Chris Taylor i guess youve never seen the photos of them with the koalas.
yeah just blending industrial, grunge and hardcore and not doing any of them particularly well. Still a good and interesting album, but lame people.
Honestly, he just said that he wanted to create a psychological soundscape with his music and worked very hard to accomplish that. The title is little misleading, I was expecting waay more edge.
Forever is amazing. Code Orange is fuckin awesome.
Man needs to listen to more Opeth for heavy/artful music.
KingBread124 different types of artsy
the way that the music cuts in and cunts out lol 1:17
Toxic normies in the comments
don't know i like this band or not. But I do love the hat he's wearing.
Code Orange just wants to make music for guys that wear cargo pants
I will listen to Enzo Amore's rap song if I want to hurt myself.
TheAutistWhisperer - ......and you caaan’t teach that! Lol
Lmao why are yall hating on code orange so bad and saying theyre super edgy and shit like the dudes chill af in this interview. If anything Gram is super awkward and weird like he is in pretty much every interview he does lmao
The reasons I don't like watching interviews and just anything about the members of bands I like is because it causes me to dislike their music due to their personalities. I've seen these guys when they had 'kids' at the end of their name and still like but jeez.. that tough guy shit gotta go.
He looks like a young dave grohl
I'M NOT SNITCHING ON THAT SHIT
"Code Orange: We Want to Make Music That Hurts". Well, in that case i'm a masochist.
My dude sounds like that dude who acted as Earl Hickey in My Name is Earl.
1:17
i listened to the whole interview without watching it and i legitimately thought that these two were on weed! especially, when Graham says :WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW
“On weed” 😂😂
Code orange is really good
yo where can i get that hat
*typical RUclips comment about the title of the video but not the fact that that's literally just one question out of the whole interview*
Loving that NIN hat
A lot of media hype on this band, they are pretty sure of themselves but damn they do stand out and seem to be doing something interesting,
I can't wait to hear some new shit but unless their next album is a Brittney Spears tribute it will not be hurting my ears.
i would love to collaborate with Jami
Is he talking about let me in?
He aint lyin
Did Graham say 'cuts in and cunts out' at 1:15?
Perfect band for overly-angsty 13 year olds
Still Grammy nominated.
Thought that was for nu metal bands?
+That One Guy not a good argument mate
That One Guy oooh the Grammys. That’s a sure sign of something worthwhile lmfao.
Grammy nominated? So was Avenged Sevenfold.
Talked to these guys at rotr, cool fucking people!
lmao
Next album will crush terra incognita by gojira, bet on it
Adam Rose BAHAHAHA
It actually did😂
01:17 bit of a Freudian slip there maybe?
MR. PEEPERS
Code orange is fucking brutal
= Kylo Ren starts a pissed off hardcore band.
PITTSBURGH, PA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why so many people say he wants to act like he is hardcore and stuff..I just think he is a bit nervous taking this interview that all..Guys just chill....
I can’t stand the hardcore dancing at their shows but they are an amazing band.
I like a few of their tracks in the last couple of albums. So different from their earlier stuff as "Code Orange Kids", and when the Drummer and Reba where in the more pop type band who I can picture but can't remember the name
Adventures
misterjohn john Adventures is what you're thinking of. Pretty sure it was actually every member of Code Orange, as well. I think it was just an alternate band for them to have fun with. They said at some point they were expecting that project to be the one to take off.
Tyler King
Yes, there was a track with animation, and a keyboard player that is not in code orange.
calm down boi
Not even that heavy of a band tbh. Like there were so many death metal, metalcore, powerviolence, sludge, black metal and grind acts that absolutely stomp these guys in terms of abrasive sound and in concept. They seem to feel like they're the most brutal thing ever.
I remember when all the hardcore blogs were raving about this band when their first 7” were coming out. They seemed cool back then, now they all act so serious and angry lol take it easy
i know jamie
2:18
Why so glum chum ?
Joel Macy because he’s REAL
Guys, check the thumbnail for this video. Of course loudwire low key made a mockery and was pointing out the ridiculous of his “edginess”
"I feel like a lot of the time bands, especially heavy bands, when they get more artful per se, or more "post-", it gets less intense, less violent"
someone hand this guy a copy of The Deal by Sumac and prove him comprehensively fucking wrong
Death and meshuggah: Hold our beers
He has big ears
I love this band but I totally understand where some of the hate comes from. Some of the things the band does can easily be seen as being pretentious-- even though I don't think it is.
Mike Adams to me they seems like a project of a producer more than a traditional band, think of it as a hardcore backstreet boys , but cool riffs though
Mjc is still safe passage to international.
Had to unfollow them on social media due to their overly angsty nearly emo "the world sucks, dude" posts.
Natasha K Cuz the world sucks, dude.
I mean the world does suck. Dude.
xD
Comments like that just make me roll my eyes dude, i dunno
I like the music, but all the "attitude" bullshit and weird comments like this, just not about it
So much edge
fried tofu ^^^^^ so much originality
HateHater of course.
I really love their music. They make good shit. I just wish they would stop trying so fucking hard to put forth this hyper edgy appearance. Chill out. People like you. Stop trying so hard to fit and you'll be fine. Pantera made some of the heaviest shit in history, but you watch interviews and see their behind the scenes stuff and they're having a great time. Nothing wrong with just letting the music speak for itself without having to bring all this grumpy edge to every interview.
You mean that hurts everyone’s ears?
He is bigger than I tought or is Graham really small
More like “We want to make music that CLIPS!” The only thing their music hurts is people who have tinnitus from listening to Death Magnetic.
IanElickMusic LMFAOOOO IM CRYIN
Code orange is killer. I really don't get the hate. Why can't people just quit being fucking snobs and be glad that hardcore, metal and rock are still alive and kicking.
I'm here from Down in a hole. Code Orange? Sounds like Mountain Dew. I'm thirsty now. Does this band want to make people thirsty??
They make music people want to hurt others to.
Hurts to listen to that's for sure. So bad
Why are they getting hate for how they act who fucking cares let them be serious and edgy
Buddy you're music's gonna hurt if you put all this edge into it, people could seriously cut themselves
FUCKING SLAYER! Same can be said for life
Code Overrated
They're all such a bunch of lames.
it's like they got popular and then set out to embarrass themselves as much as possible as quickly as possible.
"we dropped the KIDS cause we are fucking GROWN"
"NO SURRENDER NO PRISONERS NO EMPATHY NO PUPPIES ONLY PAIN"
"WE WANT TO MAKE MUSIC THAT HURTS!"
shut up and let your music speak for itself. don't tell us how you are trying to make us feel. there is nothing hard about that.
I was blown away by “Forever,” but I’m not sure what I think of these guys. This interview is kinda weird
It hurts to hear him sing. He should quit the band and let the girl that sings and plays guitar take over as lead vocals. She’s way more talented than him.
simp
He’s taking it way too serious, yes it’s good to put emotion in your music, it’s your fucking passion same as I; but fuck you’re successful now do you really think people are gonna buy the “pain” that you’re going through. “Yeah we want to make music that hurts dude.” Nah don’t be on that bandwagon and put on a show for the camera.
It DOES hurt. It hurts my ears and my brain. Saw them with Gojira last year. Couldnt wait for that shit to end.
clefCity I feel your pain on that one .. these fucking peeps 🤦🏻♂️
