The concept of the Quintessons stripping the Cybertronians of their Primus-given ability to transform, in order to exploit and enslave them, makes this movie an enticing one.
Something odd I noticed is alpha trion gave the 4 characters their t cogs, from what we know transformers are born/built with the T cog so they can transform but in this universe there could be a dark implication. It could be newly made cybertronians either don’t have T cogs naturally and need them installed leading to the labour workers not being able to afford them OR newly made transformers have their T cogs disabled/removed basically can’t use them due to a cast system.
They also have holes in their torsos where the T cog fits into which leads to it being removed in some way which is very messed up
Could the Quintessons have some influence in that?
Maybe the main team aren't "born" cybertronians, but meant to be lower class bots built to be worker bots or something...
But yeah, Transformers being unable to transform by themselves is weird.

Maybe because she has a numerical designation, Elita-1, Erial will be her matured form. It would be a fun reversal in my eyes. Imagine after a battle her head's all scuffed up, her helmet busted, and she transforms her hair into a ponytail, and after finding out who she wants to be, takes the name Erial.
D-16 may get his name in this movie, Alpha Trion telling them of the 13 and the most powerful, Megatronus. Feeling he's not quite a Prime, D-16 takes on some of his name, Megatron.
The one thing that this film needs to do right is Orion/Megatron’s falling out. I’m not asking for something as brutal as Megatron slaughtering Orion from “War Dawn” or anything, just something that makes it crystal clear to Orion that D-16 has changed- and changed for the worst.
It really feels like they're drawing a lot of inspiration from beast machines, Considering that when they get their t-cog it's going to be the first time they ever transform And much like with beast machines there's going to be hiccups where they struggle to mass shift properly give them what we see in the trailer. considering the quena sons seemed to be the ones in control of Cybertron they probably stripped all the cybertronians of their t-cogs as a way to keep them under control.
T cog actually comes from the original g1
Possibly it's an age divide, as we see bots still with full forms. So newer bots may me manufactured without T-Cogs for some reason.
We see that other transformers in the trailer can transform, so the quintessons didn’t take them away from everyone.
having trouble transforming is an idea that goes back a long way. I mean the Japanese headmasters series had Transformers who couldn't transform learning to turn into heads for drone bodies.
Also, so far the trailers are not presenting this organic stuff as a good thing, considering the quintessons look to be the source of it.
In that Alpha Trion cave we see what looks like Onyx Prime. Maybe the giant decepticon symbol is Megatronus? It would help explain D-16 taking the name Megatron

So I guess the T cogs he gives them are from the corpses of 4 of the 13 primes.
The wings match, but Onyx is black and crimson and that bot is white and blue.

@@green-legacy I don't think Nemesis would be that small. It's big, but not Titan sized. Tarn is another decepticon faced bot, but Megatronus, when we see Alpha Trion with similar worn down bodies, seems to fit. We may be following the 13
You should cover the interviews the director Josh Cooley recently gave.
They provide a lot more context, reassurance that he knows and loves this franchise, and emphasizes how Orion and D-16's relationship is the emotional core and focus of the movie.

Cooley also claimed he loved Toy Story, and yet he undermined practically every character and arc from the original trilogy in one film.
What I hope for can be summed up in two words.
The Touch.
Doesn't the tcog scene show his fusion cannon extending from his arm when thier bodies are "armoring up" after fhe tcogs get installed?

We see when he becomes a vehicle at first he's missing his cannon, so he's an H-tread.
B finds his knife hands on accident, so D-16 likely makes a cannon in rage later. Notice we don't see much of him post-T Cog. Interesting.
What I don’t want to happen as Optimus learns responsibility is for his slave labor duties to be treated as instances where he should’ve taken responsibility. He is fully within his right to blow that shit off
I think orion character flaw will be running away from his problems and learning to be responsible i believe that might be his character arc
I am glad and grateful that they are drawing from multiple lore ( from G1 and onwards), rather than the Bayverse crud. I think it's a GOOD way to draw in younger fans. I like the light tone if it means the eventual turn of Megatron and the destruction ( if it happens) of Orion Pax before he becomes Optimus Prime, will be all the more impactful.
I'm wondering if they're planning on making this a trilogy? Which may mean Megatron's turn to the dark side might not be immediate. Dion instead of Bumblebee would have been better, I agree. I think they threw him in for name recognition.
Technically Megatron is the Dion equivalent- think about it. D-16 sounds an awful lot like Dion, doesn’t it? Especially if you pronounce D-16 like B-127

Dion was an orange bot, recently-ish packed with Erial, Elita's first form. He, Pax, and Erial were friends. Once Pax and Erial were critical Alpha Trion reformatted them because I believe Dion brought them there.
I found an article through Google that effectively stated this is intended to be the start of a trilogy.
It's called Transformers One because this is the last time the Transformers fight as "One" and once the Quintessons are defeated, that is when the split takes place.
I wonder if D-16 and/or orion will get a scene where they are tempted by their "true" T-cogs. That's when you could have a fun little reference that Megatron's original T-cog (I'm going with the idea the one they were forged with was removed at "birth") is either his G1 gun mode or something like galvatrons.
It would have that theme of them both rising up from what they were born to be but in different directions.
My thinking is the scenes with Optimus, Megatron and the three Decepticons will be part of a Cold Open that'll then flash back in a "How did we get here?" way for the bulk of the film.
Who else is hoping Steve Buscemi is gonna play Starscream?

I'm still not sold that Blue is Sentinel, he has Dezarus' wings near exactly. Hopefully a toy or something with him talking comes out because I'd like to stop getting bashed for this when either way I'd accept it, I just think the wings are weird and out of place for Sentinel.

Cargo truck with a spiked hood in G1, Titans Return made him an Astrotrain repaint.
But the wings don't fit the shuttle wings, they're curved and section off as you go down, much akin to Dezarus' wings. I saw the wings and I got curious, I'm leaving myself open to the chance that it's Dezarus. I know we're gonna have Sentinel, I thought he was Sentinel first! But the wings are way too specific, they made me wholly reconsider. If news drops that reveals Sentinel's look and it matches I will concede, I know it's possible and I won't be mad if it's the outcome.

I think the timing of sentinel death will or should be different. Orion will fail to save him and need Megatron to help. Then they win over the quintessons together but Megatron learns sentinel is corrupt and kills him.
i have the strong feeling the figure of megatronus, the ''fallen'' will play a big role on D-16 character development, my guess is theres some form of a CULT going on among cybertronians that worship megatronus and D-16 mark on his shoulder is some form of symbol of respect to him.
MAYBE they will imply that D-16 is some form of legit heir of megatronus like his shoulder mark was something he born with and everyone assumes he is even the reincarnation of megatronus giving him a divine right to be leader of cybertron

It's not a bad guesstimate of the plot.
I would rather not have our protagonists trigger a war just because they trekked where they shouldn't, avoiding an "oops my bad" or "did i do that?" moment.
My guess is they stumbled upon the Quints plan to wipe out the Cybertronians (inefficiency, bad leadership, etc) sorta like the corporate bosses (the Quints) taking it out on the managers and wanting to start clean.
The underground rebels caught wind through their spy network that something big has been brewing for a while and they have been preparing to defend themselves.
We know the Decepticon Army fights the Quintessons, as Nova Storm is fighting a Vehicon.
And D-16 has his brand already, so Decepticons aren't a defective faction yet.
We're in the Quintesson War, but the Great War will likely come of Pax and D-16 having conflicting ideals, a slight tear becoming a MASSIVE rift.
btw that city in the distance on the surface of the planet kinda looks like Omega Supreme's alt mode

I hope this is as close to accurate as possible! I do still say it should be Dion instead of Bumblebee, but still.

I’m kinda thinking that Orion Pax will talk them into a battle that causes the Quintessons to capture Elita 1 and the Quints will tun Elita into Airachnid and that situation would be the last straw for D-16 and cause him to split from Orion and start his own cause.

Elita and Airachnid are seen on the same battlefield, the gloomy one where Prime rockets up. So unlikely it's a reformatting of Elita. Plus that would blend Airachnid to Animated Black Arachnia.

It would be interesting for the implications if Sentinel is a true Prime in this continuity. But that's also a return to form. I've gotten so used to the "Lineage of False Primes" idea that I forget it was a retcon. I def think Sentinel is the one who made the peace deal with the Quints for them to live on the surface, the question is if Sentinel did that because he truly thought it was the only way for his race to survive a genocide (true Prime) or if he did it so he could control the remaining Cybertronians and anoint himself Prime (false Prime)
I almost dont want the matrix to be passed or found by Orion due to it being a big thing and seems that T-cogs are kind of in that situation here.
In the trailer it looks like Megatron gets his fusion cannon immediatly from the T-Cog. It looks like the cannon is going to be retractible which is why you don't always see it on his arm. And him turning into a tank without a canon is likely going to be played for comedy the same way as all the other transformations the first time we see it. I don't think that's an indication that he doesn't have his Fusion canon just that he isn't fully transformed in that scene.
Also... I don't think we're actually going to see them fully as Optimus and Megatron in this movie. I have a feeling those shots we see of them are from some like future vision at some point in the movie or could be teasers for a sequel. The reason I don't think it's going to happen in this movie is because that shot of Megatron looks much older and like he's been in war, it's a much different look than the D-16 we see in the rest of the movie. The same goes for Optimus, like you can tell it's the same character but Optimus just looks so much older and wiser than Orion Pax.
Unless they're doing like a Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime situation where a mcguffen just suddenly makes them age and muture instantly but I suspect these movies are going to build up to that in the sequels.
I suspect Transformers Two will be when we actually see them in those forms. And Transformers three would end with them on Earth.
I don't even think Sentinel Prime will die in this movie, I think Megatron is going to kill him in the Transformers Two and that's going to be the moment that starts the war. Sentinel Prime might be badly injured and forced to stand trial after the events of this movie but he's going to be found innocent of any crimes and Megatron's going to take the law into his own hands to kill him.
I'm not just predicting the plot of this movie but predicting an entire trilogy that could come from this. I don't know where to go with the sequels if Sentinel dies by the Quintessons and Optimus and Megatron have already parted ways by the end of this movie that's why I'm predicting it'll be saved for Transformers Two so they have more of a slow burn to get to what we know is comming later.
D-16's fusion cannon is in a brightly lit area, fully topside.
The cave is dark, it's an editing trick.
Which means we might see some suppressed anger boil up. Note how the Decepticon base isn't sunlit, so TJ is still wrong in that regard. But Sentinel could still survive, Two or whatever starting The Great Cybertronian War with his death as you said.
@@samurexatlas7373 The T-Cogs produce light making the cave brighter when they're presented as well so I think what you're registering as sunlight is just a lighting effect of the T-Cogs being activated for the first time. I don't think that lighting effect with be consistent threwout just in that scene where they first get them cause in later scenes after that they don't seem to produce any light.

@@samurexatlas7373 That is what "retractible" means. And it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a character get a weapon or power up only to immedatly lose it in the verry next shot.
The only thing that I can even hazard to guess at in terms of plot is the obvious takeaway: that this is going to be a take on the origins of Optimus Prime & the Autobots, Megatron & the Decepticons, and possibly even laying the foundation of The Great War (gotta sequel bait just in case the movie makes enough money to _justify_ a sequel).
Outside of that, I have no idea. I'm getting heavy Aligned vibes, but they're pulling from all over the place. So one way or another, this is going to be an all new universal stream to add to the nexus.
I am wondering if D-16 is supposed to be like a prince or something like that. This is not the first time that this has happened.
Also, I hope that this does not tied back to the bayverse. Let it be its own separate thing. That thing is a mess. I like the designs very much so far.

I've heard this movie compared to the Phantom Menace, and having a race in it adds to that.
15:40-16:20 also its possible that megatron/D-16 he doesn't trust elita because she might work for or possible know sentinel personally and the fact orion and elita becoming lovers might be infuriating for him making him not trust orion but when orion gets the mattix they become enemies so it is possible

As for the quintisons it could be they’re invading from space and due to the transformers living underground don’t notice until it’s to late or the quintisons live on the surface and want to enslave the transformers which they see as beneath them (literally) either way they notice the main 4 bots and sentinal with his vehicons hitch they catch and beat up sentinal.
The cave where they find alpha trion is probably the last resting place of the 13 primes, we see the fallen (not tarn it’s not gonna be him cause tarn came after the decepticon rise not dead in a cave with ancient demi gods), and in some clips you can make out other dead characters like onyx prime. The idea that the primes fought the quintisons then made a deal or agreement like you get the surface and we get the underground then died naturally or in fighting this sounds plausible. I hope this plot gets explored it would be a quick explanation of the original 13 for newer fans
I like this for the most part, but I hate the idea of Optimus Prime and he Autobots being a continuation of Sentinel's regime, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Additionally multiple Autobots are shown in the trailer as worker bots. Other than that it felt it was pretty good guess of the plot.
People(mainly some adults and teens)constantly whinning about the Transformers franchise still being appealing towards kids instead of being a quote on quote "veru mature, dark and gritty solely for a more mature older audience" is so stupid since you know... the transformers franchise has always been and will continue to be a franchise primarily for kids and families, not exclusively for adults. Like jeez, so many grown ass adults on TFW2005 are literally complaining about how the movie will somehow suck so bad just because the primarily target audience are kids as if kids media can never be great. It's just such a stupid and annoying criticism. And i'm so surprised on how unaware of some adults and teens are on what makes a great entertainment content weather be a movie, tv show or video game. Like target audience, tone or ratings don't even determine weather the content is gonna be great or bad. It's the people behind their works.

The only thing different about this movie compared to the other Hasbro Transformers movies is it's fully animated. It's still ALL the same people who made the past 7 shitty ones. Why would the outcome be any different?

Bad writing. The T-cogs are just put in there to get to something else that the writers watn to get to. In this case to get the characters to what TJ states. Sorry, that's it. Starscream. i always thought that He was megatron's Son. That is the only way he should/would put up with S2's attitude of wanting to take over leadership. Crasher is, as I thought, his Mother. She would kill Megs if anything happened to S2. Didn't Orion Pax get rebuilt along with Ariel and u;tra magnus by Alpha Trion? Going away from the original story usually leads to a low Box Office. It has to be a new continuity because it takes a giant dump on the G-1 Series original Origin Story for Prime.

I am still waiting on the Unsolved Mysteries episode asking why a movie being marketed to children has a muscial callback in the trailer to a 46 year old Rolling Stones song (Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones) dating back to when their audiences GRANDPARENTS were children? I had to check my calendar to see if this was still 2024. At least if they went back to Vince Dicola or Stan Bush it would only be four decades instead of nearly five.
Otherwise, this looks like Buzz Lightyear with a repaint.

It's trying something different to the usual tf movies but it's like a copy and paste of every other movie and tv show aimed at teens and kids out there...I'm including all the marvel and star wars movies in that. The style of "humour" in all these movies is just so tiring/tedious.
