    My first time hitting the trail was in a Subaru Outback when I was 15! We acquired my mother's winter beater while my parents were at work, got it stuck and had to call friends to help us recover it to get it washed and back home before 5:30pm lol
    It was a great time and started my lifelong love for the trail!

    A Suby is the only soft roader I'd even attempt to use offroad. I've been places in my SH Forester that it should not have gone. I'm extremely hesistant to do that in a CVT equipped modern Forester, as I can see the high loads cooking it, especially with this "no service" mentality.

    I’m an archaeologist and the first car I bought was a 2009 forester. It got me everywhere. Even fell into a ditch on my front end and had no trouble driving out by backing up. Had it till this past year. Only issue it ever had was that after around 100,000 miles on it, it began to burn oil a little bit. But that thing was amazing. I miss it. I wasn’t even the original owner. It’s crazy that people don’t think of Subarus as off-road capable vehicles. I live in Southern California and lived in an area that it snowed in for the last three years. Waiting to see about buying a newer vehicle, but out of my price range. Luckily my company finally gave me a work vehicle, but none of the trucks new or old that I’ve driven over the last 4 or so years, including tacomas, silverados, frontiers, wranglers, and the odd xterra, which was better than any of these too. (which were bad but not the worst). Matter of fact, my Subaru was such a beast that I donated it when I got a full time work truck. My fiancé bought a brand new crosstrek. It’s pretty beastly, but the interior isn’t so great. Then again, As an arch we have to be able to drive anything we’re given off road. Including 2 wheel drive, which I know isn’t great, but again, I’ve never been stuck worse than in any of those off road ready trucks.

    In the UK, most people have cars on PCP finance and certainly wouldn’t risk a lease car off road for fear of damage. New Subarus in the UK are driven mainly by old people who pay cash for them to go down the golf club and Waitrose.

    I live in Brazil and we don't have many options from Subaru.
    Here we only have the New 2022 models, Forester 2.0 aspirated and hybrid and the XV 2.0 aspirated hybrid.
    I'm thinking about purchasing the XV 2.0 model 2021. 156HP and 20 kgfm, FB20 engine
    What do they say to me?
    We only have 3 stores and a few workshops, but they say Subaru doesn't break down!

    • @fyshi6226
      @fyshi6226 4 месяца назад

      I've heard people say Subaru hybrids aren't great, I'm not sure why though, do more research yourself. Personally I'd get the non-hybrid because I don't care about fuel economy and its less to go wrong. However they are very reliable cars provided you not interested tuning the engine etc, and you keep it serviced. They will out last most its competitors in its class, if reliability is something your concerned about, I wouldn't be
      If you have the option for a manual I would go for it as the automatic is a CVT, granted Subaru does make the best CVT of any company in my opinion. However if you do go automatic make sure you change the CVT fluid every ~50000km as its never asked in the service manual. They say its a forever fluid, but no fluid is
      Between the Forester or XV really its up to you, both have very similar capabilities and comfort. The XV is a fair bit smaller, so if space and size of vehicle is a big thing I'd go Forester, if its not go the XV
