I realized that PMCs follow certain movement patterns. Or to put it another way: PMCs always appear at the same time and in the same place on some maps. Example: At Interchange, anyone who goes to the roof of the power plant "at night" will ALWAYS meet 4-5 PMCs about 15 minutes before the end of the raid. This 4-5 PMCs are walking down the street towards the Interchange power plant from the direction of the railway extract. So you can shoot the easily since you have a clear line of sight from the roof...or wait for them in the garage and shoot them at point blank. Recognizing these patterns makes it very easy to complete quests like the "Tarkov Shooter" series.
I see PMC's friendly fire every once in awhile. The best/worst was when one of Reshala's guards unloaded into the back of his head while trying to hit me.
I will typically "rat" out a location and let them drop a voice line and at that point I try to push them or just let them push me. It works really well in buildings like Dorms or the Bunker, even resort.
I use the exact same strat, and I truly believe that if anyone struggling with PvE AI uses this strat too they will see a great improvement in their survival rate.
The best way is to look at the footwear. PMCs wear boots, not sneakers. Bears wear black boots while usec wear brown boots. Look at 6:31 minute mark you'll clearly see that brown boot on the pmc. Scavs wear sneakers and sandals. The second best way is to look at the gloves. PMCs will wear clean brand new military style gloves. Scavs wear torn, dirty, ripped, or civilian style gloves.
the need help feature is awesome.. scavs always react instantly and pmc will just stand still. this is the most reliable way to tell pmcs from scavs if your rep is high enough.. they don't move I kill. great content brother. helpfull as always
Backpacks have been the more reliable features for me as well. I'll peek too and try and proc a voice line, but I'm looking forward to trying out the call for help feature. I finally reached 5 rep with fence, so hopefully it'll be effective
Anybody else just now learn about the quick sell “Sell All” button on SCAV raids? No idea how I missed that one before. Also, that “Need Help” tip is amazing! Another great video!

The scav that always gives me a jumpscare is the tan jacket. If they arent wearing a goofy hat or something I am given genuine pause. Especially when they have jeans. That is really similar to an outfit USEC can wear. Playing is the best solution; i watched to see if there was anything I could learn, the “help” call was handy to learn.

Absolutely not. The pistol thing was true in the past when scavs didn't pick pistols from bodies or cases and equip them. Playing as a scav is very irritating in PvE because you're are bullied by the bosses all while the PmCs frolick around untouched by boss, guard, goons etc.....nope, you are 100% facing off the entire lobby, every single raid.
I just lost some rep because I encountered Rashalas guards behind dorms. I saw the blue camo pants and assumed bear. Otherwise my only friendly fire incident was seeing a scav wearing green cloths and a bunch of PMC looking gear. Feels bad man.
Just started playing the game a month ago, switch to PvE 2 weeks ago, and I killed rashala twice yesterday with a bolt action and TANKED my waiting to a sub 1.0 sadge
idk if they fixed it in this recent patch, but sometimes killing a pmc would aggro the scavs. idk what causes it, could be sloppy code, or maybe there is a scav behind a wall that thniks you were popping shots at it, but it can lead to some suprising and anoying deaths on scav runs
I mostly have difficulty detecting them whilst sniping, especially those jaeger tasks where you can't have large scopes n stuff; it's my first wipe and it's impossible for me to distinguish scavs. Already accidentally killed like 3 scavs as a scav from long range cause i just wanted to exfil shoreline safely with the labs keycard that my dude spawned in with
I hope they can make the PMC AI more advanced in the future so that they feel more like players. Best way ive been doing it is by feel and experience. Kinda sucks to say that but its true. And i agree the Help button is your best friend!
1. Like the channel mentioned: watch anyone with the biggest backpack. They’re PMC. The only big backpack Scav ever wear is Pilgrim Tourist, but some PMC do have it as well. 2. Scav wear *jackets* , especially the raincoats or Slav style. Red, black, yellow and light green are scav’s main colour 3. PMCs have knee pads and pistol holster on their pants. Although some scavs do have them as well recently, be careful. And PMC pants are baggier than Scav 4. Scav’s outfit usually dirty, you can tell at a quick glance 5. Last but not least, they’re bulky in frames due to equipments. This one actually due to practice and experiences, so it might take a while 6. Finally, if you see anyone skidding at you, or kneeling at you, *smoked ‘em* . PMC’s first instincts are shooting scavs. There are some PMC while give you a middle-finger gesture. Those are signals for “shoot me in the face” cue
How are those PMCs and tagilla so clueless? In my raids they would have heard me before I even got close to offices and they would be on full alert. The only time I get easy shots on PMCs so far is on interchange, where I'm in the basement close to outside and the PMCs were alerted by something earlier and walk past on the outside of the building...
dude this is a massive help :D i did the call for help. and had like 4 scavs with me. once 2 bears came close they got lit up... which is really amazing. made over 500k that run cuz the bears where loaded with big guns. one being a fully decked out m4a1 the other had a sr25 :O
Oh god... I thought I was going insane.... Your Tagilla chilled with the PMCs too. Now it makes "sense" that I killed Tagilla once and everyone pushed me. Yes, scavs try to push you if you kill Tagilla. Fine.... But WHY do the PMCs push me and chill next to SCAVs and work together to kill me
Spotting PMCs from scavs would be a whole lot easier if they fought each other 100% of the time, especially the bosses including goons. The fact that PMCs in PvE are just a bipolar scavs with 6.00 rep and invisible to goons is where most of the confusion comes from. Been trying to complete Signal on shoreline and having to face off the goons, the waves and waves of scavs, the boss + guards and all the PMCs that pour out of Health resort when you get on the roof is driving me nuts. I managed to survive 1 time, not killing the goons, but had kill everybody at health resort, and I got 28k exp from all the pmc, guards, boss and scav kills. I wasn't even proud, I was pissed. They gotta fix this sht.

I'm nearly at my kappa in PvE, and I've gotta say, most of the advice in this video is incorrect, and does not address the largest issue which is that AI PMCs and scavs, as well as bosses, rogues, and raiders, are rarely hostile towards each other and will often group in the same locations, though they do not coordinate their attacks. PMCs will not always voiceline. The "repeated every thirty seconds" is increduously inaccurate - I do not recall this ever happening consistently. Scavs will pick up bags that spawn in the map and from bodies from fights between rogues/raiders and scavs/PMCs. You can't assume a big bag is a PMC, and you don't address guards, raiders, and rogues which low level players may want to avoid as a scav so they can focus on quest and high-value items. Scavs will not always respond to your comms when you're a scav, especially if you begin to lose karma (I believe there is a hard cut-off for this as well but I don't know off the top of my head.) One of the most common AI PMC outfits is a blue jacket. You specifically mention the scav blue jacket, but not the PMC. Just some terrible advice all around. Only redeemable part is the end where you acquiesce that the best method to distinguish between scavs and PMCs is simply by playing and learning the hard way. The quick description you give of the scav at 10:00 is indicative of this.
I do not want to sound like a hater because I do find some his videos useful. But I also can agree with your point in that some things were glanced over in this video and some issues were not touched upon. I wish your comment got more attention.
try pairing the help thing with follow me and or spreadout and or fire... i have been owning pmcs pve on factory only so far with this method and i stay around 3.0 fence rep ......... i keep shooting scavs as a scav and my hideout is nearly complete minus solor and lvl 3 bitcoin and intel center. my scav timer is like 15 mins lol WITH nearly ALL the buffs
It's my first wipe of playing tarkov. Do the pmc still use the callout when they come into contact with a player scav because I have not heard it from any of them that I have died to.
this is a video about tarkov pve, if you say its your first wipe you are probably playing pvp i guess. in pvp all the pmc are other players and not bots

i can run literally right past a pmc, and ill turn around "thinking" ya know that dude kinda..... then im dead. pmc's need to stop acting like they have lvl 6 fence rep and just shoot on site just like YOUR pmc gets shot at by goons or scavs. ai needs to be redone again and that dont mean crack them out further. they should have the ai pmcs run around like literally dudes in the mil. in formation and what not all sneaking together at a safe grenades distance apart and just look more mil than civ

Sell all is good but you make less bc it all goes to Fence.

Lately finding pmcs during scav raids (pve) equipping scav gear and stowing their pmc stuff in their bags

Some of them do. I shot them by mistakes. Watch out for this as well

I was running lastnight and seen a grp of 3 pmcs like 20meters from 3 scavs and didn’t trigger eachother lol all but 1 I could tell was a pmc lol

also throwing a smoke grenade at a scav makes them aggro, but not at you, which is interesting

I'm a massive fan of pve and I have that the Timmy pmc pick up the low tier loot more. So watch out for the pack backs. Too difficult to desyph.

Scope FPS drop will never go away. It's on all maps. Goons are still 100% spawn and most likely will be until .15
Pmcs have watches scavs do not. Also scavs have flip flops sometimes too lol
If that is how you check before shooting you need to get a high paying profession based around eyesight.
I aint looking for watches on them lol
