The most talented musician ever to arise out of black metal
I would like to see dissection today
I cannot get enough of his vocal deliveries...i swear he has one of the most appropriately hellish screams in all of metal
It reminds me of my deployment in Antartica for 13 months... so cold, so Dark, all White, all alone with my 15 military mates throughout the whole Winter! Unforgetable experience!!
I didn't even know they deployed military to Antarctica. Why did you do there, if I may ask?
@@WinterMadness some antarctic stations deploy military personnel to take care of the stations for the whole year. Not all of them… we support the researchers as well…
@@heavymetal1330 if there's a place to be deployed that's it, fucking awesome
The Thing (1982)
Director :John Carpenter
Ihsahn gets money from me every time he releases new music.
I give him money too
And I celebrate that
No shit
Why tho this is terrible tbh
@@zachyoung3483 to you maybe
It sounds so badass in Norwegian.
No wonder I couldn't work out the lyrics
I didn't realize it was not english. To me, starting with Death, this heavy guttural stuff doesn't do anything. Except for Lemme.
It actually seems to suit the vocal style more than English.
@@bribbripnairbnab7301 ok boomer
If only in Canadian English French
Haha jk this is next lvl
Ihsahn keeps putting out great music at an extraordinary rate, what a musician !
A brass section inside this black gem. Bloody genius. It shows fluid evolution and influences through his lifetime. Kudos.
What did I just see and hear? Ihsahn never ceases to amaze. The word is over used but never when spoken about Ihsahn...Genius!!!
That's Ihsahn. No words needed. Just like this.
This has to have the smallest gain to heaviness ratio I've ever heard, amazing. What a killer song
This video is amazing. Just the thought of Ihsahn shrieking in the middle of a frozen wasteland is awesome.
This man is a true Artist!
İhsahn is a masterartist of 2020s
I like the Jazz elements, it gives it a unique flair
This is why Ihsahn different .. listing shining the Swedish band if you like this jazz mix with black metal
@@modefathy1205 i think u meant Shining (NOR) cause Shining (SWE) is Niklas Kvarforth and i've never heard anything close to Jazz in his DSBM :D
@@kuroinamida4630 you right, he probably ment Norwegian Shining, but there are some jazzy elements in some songs on Kvarforth's last few albums. The Ghastly Silence, for example. But yeah, in terms of non-black metal things he likes to use a lot of classical and blues elements, but you can hear jazz elements, mostly in drum parts.
Check out Le Rumeur de Chaines. French blackmetal band with a heavy Jazz influence. Shame they only ever released an EP. I really dig them.
@@kuroinamida4630 true !!
After the shitty day I have had this is the pick me up I desperately needed
Hope tomorrow is a better day for you ^_^
TRVE
Get well soon
Hope you're feeling better
Stay up bro
Its amazing that the guitars have almost zero distortion. Great stuff
And still sounds brutal as fuck
Wife: It's cold we need more lumber at home.
Ihsahn: Ok, I got this.
cool story...
I believe that Wife prefers to go by the name Ihriel.
True Art of The Real Emperor!
Real Emperor died after "Anthems"
@@lordsatan4685 Prometheus was their best album YEAH SUE ME!
@@lordsatan4685 nah it just evolved into something new and different. All of Ihsahn's music from Lord of the storms to ye entrancemperium to stridig is amazing
Ihsahn really looks like Jonathan Davis from Korn. Can’t unsee. 😂
Pretty cool to hear him sing in his native language.
Ihsahn is very sexy 😍
One of them its the doppelganger.
i had the same thought looking at the thumbnail of lend me the eyes of millenia
dude you're right. except he's more Norwegian lol. i never realized until now. if that's partly why i gravitate towards him fuck. considering korn is my favorite band
That woodcutter seems to be very angry at something. Maybe it's because he doesn't seem to be very good at cutting wood....
hahaha, made my day!
probably the blade is dull LOL
Maybe he forgott to bring his coffee.
He's an axeman though! :) Cool song, love me some Ihsahn!!
I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok
I'm so down with this.
what's my favourite atmospheric black metal band doing here haha
Dude really influenced by ihsahn
Glad seeing you here, cheers!
Damn!! Been a fan of his solo music since 2008. Can't wait for this one.
I cannot wait...I've loved almost everything this man has ever done, but Amr just didn't do much for me. It's nice to hear him getting back to his roots to some degree, and also the Norwegian lyrics just add another layer that I love. Can't wait!
No surprises here. Yet another amazing release by one of the most consistent artists in extreme metal today. Thank you, Ihsahn!
The song ended like a minute ago and I'm still here, in silence, waiting for the chills to go...
T that's the corona
This song, this video, still give me chills every damn time!! Metal sounds soooo much more .... METAL in Norwegian!
How he can continuously innovate with every new release is beyond me. And with a horn section. And it sounds cohesive . I really envy his creativity !!
Ihsahn is the greatest thing came from Norway. Hail the lord of darkness
After A-ha and Leprous.
@@Erickhetfield And Abbath
He's no lord of darkness... He's a rather powerful bringer and priest of light :/....
The black king from Norway is back! Can't wait for the whole album!
Always respected this dude, but never got into his solo stuff.,this is the turning point for me. This is savage.
I just heard this band for the first time on Sirius Radio the other day and I'm wondering where the hell they've been my whole life
I recently started listening to him as well. A cold refreshing drink of Artistry in heavy music. For years I had a closed mind against "extreme" metal, Ididnt think the cats outside the lines had anything to offer. I was ridiculously wrong. For some reason it seems the bands that are exciting and innovative are from Northern and western Europe. When I feel like Dumming down I can just throw in some main stream American shit. But in American Metals defense, I often like the punk and hardcore influence. A world full of great tunes, I need to be vigilant against complacency and premature judgement.
The God has returned
are the solar balls still upon his back?
@@GabrielRGomes Good reference mate! 😊
You can feel the mejestic emptiness of darkness.... A MASTER
That is a very emotional guitar solo, and it came outta nowhere.
Ihsahn, always coming up with something brilliant, be it Emperor or solo work. There's nothing else on quite like it on Earth... great to hear Mr. Munkeby again too. New Leprous, new Borknagar, now new Ihsahn, it's Creative Central up in the fjords at the moment. 😆
One of his best songs since a long time
Очередной хит от Исана. Отличная композиция. Клип понравился.
Gaahl and Ihsahn are making great stuff. Who would have thought that black metal could turn into such innovative music. The best I've heard this 2019.
To be fair, that Black Metal can be innovative has been known since 1987 (Celtic Frost's Into the Pandemonium). And it keeps giving.
@@mikaelnippers7189 Celtic Frost were alway innovative and embraced a "fuller" sound, like Emperor. Its really only the "first wave" of BM that went for that empty toilet room production. After that theres been loads of juicy content, as I'm sure you know.
Ihsahn's music has always been innovative, just check anthems to the welkin at dusk, or any peccatum album, or the hardingrock project, or the last thou shalt suffer album (not the death metal era).
He's been innovative since the first demos, when he was 13 or so, i think when anthems came out he was 19 at that time, so the black metal pearl called in the nightside eclipse was released when he was 16 i think.
Ihsahn is from 1975. Nightside, 19 years old, Anthems, 22 years old.
3:09 that feeling on vocals...
Innovative, cold yet classy... Ihsahn at it's best!
He always delivered great stuff but what a complete and extraordinary musician he has become..!
The King is back! Hail! 🖤🔥
Best thing that ever happened for Ihsahn was the chance to go solo.
Emperor stopped at just the right time, the discography is flawless and it should stay that way.
This song is cold, dark and dreary. Love every second of it
It's crazy that Ihsahn mixes and masters his own music.
Why? Tons of bands and artists do, especially these days and especially in metal.
@@DM12128 No doubt about that.
I dont wanna know how many kids have ruined their voices by trying to scream and sound like this without knowing that singing like this requires expertise and you should not feel pain by doing it. :)
Grew up with Emperor btw. Im 41 now and still like coming back now and then.
Ufff! Such a song... love the bass line
i can't get enough of this song...
This gave me massive goosebumps! Masterful!
Thanks again, Ihsahn. Always inspiring and innovative.
Mighty Ihsahn! A real genius👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘
What a wonderfull Christmas gift! Takk skal du ha Ihsahn!
This song is innovative and very traditional at the same time. Perfect as usual from the master of the norway darkness...
This is Modern Progressive Black Metal !
Being a teen of nineties, this is how I remeber black metal.
I believe the term you're looking for is "Avant Garde Black Metal".
Masterpiece
What a song :D Ihsahn is God!
Ihsahn é um um Génio! 🤘🇵🇹
Great song! I cant wait the album!
One of my favorite Songs!
This is ACTUAL INSANITY. It's like Eremita, After and Emperor! Wow!
Ever since Opeth died Ihsahn has been my favorite. I love everything he does.
On top of that, I get a strange feeling Ihsahn has been listening to Voivod lately....
and comparing this to Amr, you can see how much he can innovate and mix influences well.
@@chadeagleton3141 disagree on that Opeth take. They're still good but not as inspired as before, In Cauda was really good tho. But I do believe Ihsahn is one of the greatest musical minds today. Along with Devin Townsend, Toby Driver, Mike Patton and Aaron B. Turner to name a few.
@@pietrayday9915 def hear some Voivod in the riffs, amazing band, had the pleasure of seeing them live!
Ihsahn grandissimo artista, anche in questo caso...non sbaglia un colpo!
Can't wait for the rest of the EP!!
Great new song! Cheers all the way from Beirut Lebanon 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
He is unstoppable
Fierce and dark! The kid in the video finds a symbol in the ground. There's something about the old ways in this song.
Yes! New Ihsahn! ❤️
impecableeeee
Many times I long to hear metal that is not so extreme, but still metal. Something that offers a new take on the old tried and true. That's not as easy as it sounds. I'll try something "melodic" hoping it will be that kind of listening experience, but again, still metal. Yet, when I hear metal music that is meant to be "melodic" or "accessible," I usually am compelled to switch the player off! ...or find something else, like classical music. Yet I still wish to hear metal music! Something that offers compositions that are familiar yet different, if that makes any sense. I don't vibe at all with the "positive" sound of melodic metal; and I'm a positive person! I'm finding this music from Ihsahn fresh, and appealing. He manages to blend in tones and influences from other genres into metal compositions without at all losing what I find attractive about metal in the first place....positive creativity in a seemingly inhospitable context.
It’s a little bit of a long-shot, but try Ionnina City Villagers, they’re more rock, but they have a unique Greco-Turkic flair to them
@@evilemuempire9550 I'm hearing it right this moment. I'm intrigued so far! Thanks for the recommendation.
@@joszefrviz398 Great! I hope you like them!
That EP will save my fuckin Life, Thank you Ihsahn.

Man, this is awesome!
wow The énergie in this song is sublime !
what amazing production it is !!!
Great Ihsahn!
Heartbeat 💓
I think I'm in love with his music
Crush forevah. So unique, what a musician and artist!
I never knew cutting wood was such an angry inducing experience, damn cold and trees...
I haven't clicked so fast on a video before. Legendary Ihsahn, great music as always.
Such a cool aesthetic that goes along with a lot of his work -- that sense of the premodern, working class difficulty of northern life.
Can't wait to see what Ishahn and MKH have for us
Ok, that's good, now I can't wait *-*
Can't stop listening...
There is something in those trees.
