Thank you for the review, just picked up a set myself!! Just In case anyone is wondering, the US price is now $150, and they come with the harness instead of the bag! Really like them so far... the real test will be elk hunting next week!
Do you like them now? How have they held up are the lenses good? Have you dropped them and if you have do they work? Have you used them at dark or night?
Jovan Vukosavljević I still love them! Lenses stayed totally fine, only time they fogged up was early morning after leaving the warm tent into the negative temps... I did drop them twice... once down a fairly steep rock face. Minor scratches on the outside, but absolutely nothing wrong with the actual optics. I have used them at night and absolutely love them, even when it was totally dark and no moon light, I was still able to see the smaller details of some trees in the distance. They really lit up early morning during the hunt... even with the smallest amount of sunshine, I was able to see everything very very clearly! Definitely keeping these binoculars, worth every penny!
I've been using 'em for three years now, outstanding pair of lenses. I use some purposed cleaning solution spray, soft fiber cloth, and a lens pen with a carbon tip to finish the cleaning routines.
I just bought a pair of these after buying the nikon prostaff 3s, both of the 10X42 variety. I gotta as far as the image goes the nikons are better. not a whole lot better but noticeable. I am returning the nikon purley because of the vortex warranty. the accessories are far superior with the vortex. the carrying case, the strap(s), the fit of the ocular lens cover and the objective lens cover (or in the case of the nikons, the lack of one). also, I only paid about $10 more for the vortex's. and if anyone is wondering the vortex (at least the crossfire binoculars) objective lens covers fit the nikons perfectly.
I have a pair of 8x42 Vortex Diamondbacks that my son gave me as a gift a couple of years ago. They are super clear and well worth checking out. So... before you patronize an 'on-line' outlet, check out your local stores such as OP Outdoors here in NL.
I like the review but I’m not sure how much I agree with it being amazing I have seen the difference between a 500$-1500$ spotting scope and the 1500 is definitely worth it but I just bought some so I hope they do good enough tell I get a better one
I mainly have leupold scope's an binos but have vortex dback binos to an lovem also some bushnell optics don't have any complaints with any of them , i think a lot of people don't look after there gear that's why vortex gets a bad name
I ordered the 8x42 Crossfire HD that now come with the glasspak harness as well as better straps, our local stores sell them for $150 but I got them off Amazon for $119. I went with the 8x42 (for hunting) and not the 10x42 because with the lower magnification it is said that you wont get the shaky image you get with higher (10x) magnification. they should be here tomorrow and with less than a week left till the end of squirrel season they should come in very handy! Thank you for the up close look at the Bino's!
How do you feel about them now? Are they worth it? Have you dropped them and if so how are they now? Have you watched at night? Do you reccomend? Is the rubber still solid and not falling? How do you like the zoom do you regret it adn would get 10 zoom?
@@chess74u Its all about what you use them for, as for squirrel hunting they fit the bill perfectly, as I said it was so late in the season I didn't get a chance to test durability because I haven't used them much accept for the fact that they were new and I was looking to see more about the quality of them, till September when squirrel opens back up and I will be in the woods with them a lot more (I will check back in with you then also) I have found a bald eagles nest about 150 yard's off and was using them to glass them and will admit for that use, I would have gone with a (10 X zoom) higher power but seeing as I wanted them for squirrel hunting Im still happy with the purchase. They are clear in lower light just before dark so I'm happy about that! To soon to judge how the rubber will hold up (I wear glasses and they are a godsend if you do!) but seeing as how Vortex has a warrantee that is second to none, you just print a (online on there website) form and send them back and they will repair or replace free of charge no purchase receipt needed!!!!! YES I am happy & recommend them!
@@Frank-uf2vn I also wear glasses but wear contact lenses in my eyes so I should have an even better experiance. I will try to find them in stores and if I don't I will get some other binos. Thanks for the help.

You're a god sir. And your voice, cadence of speech and the way you appreciate the beauty of things is relaxing. Subbed, and I think I am going to buy these for coyote hunting
I have seen other reviews that say this particular model, Crossfire, are crap. You didn't give us any impression of the view thru the bins. That would be helpful
What are the chances, I have been looking for reviews on these and the Diamonbacks but haven't found many good reviews. And then here I get a review from my knife sharpening Sensei I'm already subbed to :D
Great review/overview!! Its nice to see an actual real overview of the entire item. Very well done!! I have a pair of Bushnell trophy xlt bonecollector 10x42. I like those. I wonder how much of a difference there is between them. I like mine, but I know Vortex Bino's are very nice and seem to be highly regarded.
The XLT Bone Collectors were in my cart as well. I don't think they're rated as highly as these, but people still really love them! I'd like to check them out at some point.
Kyle nice review. I’d like to hear your opinion as to the quality of the view after using them for a month or so. Even though they are the bottom of the Vortex line that doesn’t mean cheap but rather value. I’d like to know about clarity in low and bright light. In your opinion are they easy to hold steady and what effective range do they seem best for?
Very happy with them, Ralph. I have owned them for a couple months now. Capability in different types of lighting has a lot to do with the size of the objective lens, in ratio with the magnification. 10x42 is a pretty good setup to perform well in low light, so they do well! 10x is about the most magnification you'd want for hand holding, and they handle very well. The clarity really lets you make use of the magnification; Spotting animals 5-800 yards, and probably counting antler points anywhere inside 400 yards. That'd be my guess.
@@kyle_noseworthy I'm a bit budget conscious. Not interested in spending alot of money on something I'll rarely use. I'll look for a good pair online. Better deals than in stores around here.
8x42 is better for hunters because of better brightness in twilight conditions. 10x42 is better for birdwatchers who mostly track birds in full daylight.
Crossfire is at the bottom of the Vortex line because they’re made of cheaper glass than most of the rest of their line. If you don’t glass much they’ll do an ok job. If you live in the West where you glass for 3-4 hours at a stretch cheap glass leads to eye strain and sometimes headaches. Plus, it doesn’t give you a good clear, concise picture of game when judging heads and it’s worthless in early am or late pm light. Vortex’s Razor line is what a hunter wants if he’s serious about the game but it’ll set him back a little over $1000. As the old saying goes “Buy once, cry once.”
I've hunted with my father and by myself. Binoculars here in Newfoundland are not necessary to get a moose, unless your trophy hunting. I'd never invest more than a couple hundred dollars for a pair.

Awesome review! Most people that do reviews about hunting products are not great at articulating things but you did an awesome job 👍🏽
They fixed the harness. Now it comes with a chest harness with webbing on both sides and a zipper on it. They definitely upgraded it since 2019!

I need to invest in a new pair of binoculars. Maybe not this expensive tho.
It seems that quality drops off quick, at least according to my research. The $250 range seems to be the very bottom of the 'top notch' glass.

Are these ok for low light, dusk hunting?
They are quite bright, but if that is the time you most spend hunting, I might opt for a larger diameter lens.
Yes, in a more open area. However the more dense it is I would op for larger objective lenses
I found these for $160 with a harness
