Thanks Brian, it's really a sweet and charming song. I'm always surprised when I "discover" a new Hawaiian song then realize there are already a dozen or more performances on RUclips. It's fascinating to hear all the different interpretations. Fran
@@franguidry Very true Fran. It is amazing listening to different musicians putting their own stamp on a piece of music through interpretation and improvisation.
Yet again an absolutely beautiful piece of music Fran. The sound is perfect and the different camera angles with zooming in etc. make it very enjoyable to watch. A gem.......
Fran, you're making my day every time you post a new video !! Keep 'em coming, please. I'm wondering if, in 1 of your videos, you would show us the back of your Kathy Wingert? Maholo and take care. Hoping to catch you live again someday!!!
@@franguidry I went back to the nahenahe version you did with Ledward, oh to learn something so sweet! I am guessing that this is too complicated a tune to create a tutorial for (even a paid-for version)? Thank you again, keep up the good work.
@@davidjones8838 This is actually a pretty straightforward three chord song, but an instrumental will often have a lot of decoration added to the vocal melody. Let me give you an outline of the chords in the key of G: Intro: C G D G C G D G D G D G Verse: G G G G D D D D G G G G C G D G C G D G D G D G So the intro is the second half of the verse with the double vamp. Hope that helps a little bit. Fran
Thank you @Fran Guidry, so helpful and willing to share your knowledge as always, I will attempt to learn this when I go back to taropatch tuning. I am currently learning your tutorial on My Yellow Ginger Lei, along with Namaka’s Mele and Harry’s Waimanalo Blues (I can play it all, but can’t sing😂), and am enjoying the drop C tuning. Best regards
Thanks Joan, we're still doing very well. The huge eucalyptus in the back yard are making Lynn nervous but they're holding up so far and we haven't even had a power outage. But their have been fatalities, flooding, damaged houses and cars, and huge power outages all around us, with at least one more storm headed our way in a few days. Fran
I miss home everytime I listen to beautiful slack key. ❤
Ah yes, when I play I'm usually thinking how much better it would sound on the windward side in Led's garage!
Fran
Beautiful. Thank you so much.
Mahalo.
Thank you, Alan, my pleasure.
Fran
I hit the "like" button before even hearing the song, and I was not disappointed! Fine mele, amazing playing and great sound quality. Mahalo, Fran!
Good thing the clip was OK, I don't think you can "un-like" (grin).
Fran
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you, Ben. Glad you enjoyed it.
Fran
I can totally understand that! It's always beautiful music!!! It's so calming.
I'm always hoping that more slack key well help calm the world down ...

Thank you, Phil. I have to use two cameras so I can cut out the flubs (grin).

I really love your work, whether solo or with Ledward. Always a real treat for the ear and great background music for work.
Thanks for your visit, Jim.

Ah yes, the windward side is the sweet side.

Beautiful tune and nicely done. As always, thanks for posting.
Hope you two are OK, really bad weather there.
