ePower day! The Spectre build is amazing. Sweet detail to terminate the orange pinstripe short of the front end of the fender. Also perfect coordination of colors and using the orange on the exterior to align with it's use in the interior.
You can zap the max speed to 90mph - range mode still worth it as lowers the car and puts up the rear spoiler. When searching the Porsche sat. Nav. If the destination isn’t coming up press the Google button by the search box. The most useful feature of the internal sat nav is the range at final destination. You can also adjust the range remaining upon arrival. Have you got inodrive installed - ACC on another level Enjoy it’s a great car!

Thank you James, the uncut video is spectacular. I’m no sold on EV’s but hat an amazing vehicle. I’m sure you saw the major winter storms in the US and every EV froze and were completely disabled? Also did you see the interview with Jim Farley, president of Ford that said they are stopping production on lightning trucks and possibly the Mustang EV and will always be building combustion engines. Ford just started building the new plant for V8 engines.
Thanks buddy, yes EV’s are a convoluted proposition, if the climate is warm and you aren’t driving too far they aren’t too bad - however that is a big compromise for something so expensive!
Why does this account feel like a bot? Not every electric vehicle froze and became disabled. Jim Farley did not announce the cancellation of Lightning or Mach E. I couldn't find any recent news about a new V8 plant, aside from one that was reported several years ago. Jim Farley ought to stop all vehicle production until consumers are permitted to buy directly from Ford. The issue of dealer markups has become unmanageable, and Farley's "stern letter" is ineffectual. However, that is a different topic.
I live in Norway and have for the past 5 years driven EVs only (Tesla Model X 100D and for the past winter a Porsche Cross Turismo). All my friends are also driving EVs (Teslas, VW, Leafs etc). None of us have ever experienced what we read about in the newspapers from for example Chicago. Yes, you need to make certain changes when living with an EV. You may need to plug in the charger when you expect a very cold night and set the expected departure time in the app, but you never have to stop for petrol, and with a cold day range of 200+ miles (in the Porsche), and possibility to supercharge if needed at 250+kwh, I am never going back to a petrol car :)
Insanity to buy a new premium EV today. It’s just trash. Range mode on the Taycan also numbs the steering feel, makes the car FWD, harshens the ride and dims your brights 25% at nighttime driving. It’s utter rubbish. I immediately stopped using Range Mode when on road trips altogether. Better to charge more than crash with a moose you didn’t see and couldn’t avoid😮 But the worst thing was loosing so much of my battery in such a short time. After 52000km during 1,5tyrs of driving, the SOC had dropped to 93%!! When the rear motor blew 3 months later at 57000km and the car was 2 months at the dealer getting repaired, I came to the conclusion of getting rid of it ASAP and traded it for a 2018 Cayenne. Since then values of Taycan have gone through the floor and in retrospect it seemed like the smart choice to get rid of it. It was a lovely drive though, when not in range mode…
An electric pure luxury car makes sense. The pursuit of the quietest driving experience can only be done with electric, RR knew that when they created this. This is a half million dollar car that most people will only put 10k miles on during a 5 year period like a normal rolls. So maintenance, repairs, and reliability aren’t an issue for it unlike a normal electric car. Tesla and Porsche electric cars are still "normal" so you’re going to run into problems eventually due to miles driven and even sooner when it’s a lemon car. Electric cars are still new, just like the adjustment period between horse and buggy and reliable ICE cars, so it’s going to take 10+ more years before they’re dead reliable and almost completely environmentally friendly (battery tech).
Not that much difference - since the heat is a byproduct of an oil burning machine, also the battery capacity is much more sensitive to temperature changes, the colder the lower - and you need extra energy to heat up the battery and the inside of the car, all that is not the case for a petrol car.
Your opening statement James, "We're becoming the Jetsons"" is true. The drones now, that you'll be able to punch in your destination, then away you'll fly....It's happening!
Is it correct that to charge a EV to it’s battery limit ,you actually have to put 10 percent extra in as you lose charge throughout the cable and battery?Similar would be spilling petrol on a fill.
Hi James I do get a lot of what your saying about Ev’s. They are far from perfect but look how long it’s taken the internal combustion engine cars to get were they are. I’m sure battery technology will improve and range will get better. As I say to people they don’t suite everyone. But as one salesman told me many years ago when I was looking at a turbo diesel VW polo when I said that’s great 65 to 70 mpg and 9 seconds to 60 mph he said no one or the other. And I think that’s relevant today with Ev’s you had a choice performance or range. You naturally chose performance with the taycan . It’s like my car a Kia EV6 GT LINE S DUEL MOTOR 320 bhp does 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds and I can get Sumer driving close to 300 miles. The GT with 520 bhp will do 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds but the best you will get out of it is 220 miles driving with a gentle right foot.so it’s a case of make a choice economy or performance. Love the Rolls-Royce by the way.

as an EV owner (lease) , i see even the spectre has the same issue as mine, winter...must have a/c ventilation on at all times or all windows fog up, kinda annoying and might make me go ice again for next lease. I want to start by saying that I am not no were close to being able to afford a rolls Royce so to most people reading the comment who usually chuck a nasty word or two (what colour is your Bugatti) I've not been grabbed by the electric RR until now and it's not because it is electric because I think if any brand should be it's rr , its actually the design of the car itself, but boy o boy the spec of this is stunning and tge interior and the way the seat design and spec has just literally 180 my opinion 👏👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿
Have you been looking into synthetic fuels? At a glance it seems like a no brainer when you can reduce significantly emissions just by fueling different petrol/diesel. It's not that green to just build electric new cars for everybody.
i have an Bmw ix 50 in Scandinavia its very good I charged at home the cost of charging is nothing compare to gasoline and the range in -13 is still 430 km don't think my ex Porsche 996 gt2 could do that range

my only nitpick of the design is how long the front part is, i mean its electric, aka you dont need a long front end.. you would think design wise you try to shave down every unnesesary inch/mm from the car lenght which is not used for the interior. thus i asume based on being electric, they could have made the front part at least 1 feet shorter. if this where a luxury van which has a short front part and all the size would benefit for the interrior like 2x2 of luxury seats i nthe back, i would not mind the overal lenght, cos then you need that, and use that, but this, has only a long fron part size for looks sake.
