We’ve often seen coalition developers calling previous gears of war games as simply also Gears 1, Gears 2 etc so I believe it was just to simplify the name. But to me it will always be Gears Of War Judgement,1,2,3,4,5

Honestly, I never even notice this stuff. And it always surprises me that I don’t notice it. The only thing I noticed is that they looked better than the original 3 and that’s good enough for me. When I’m playing through games I take in the environment.. but I don’t analyze every shadow difference or the way the grenades have sparks that fly off of them or anything like that. I just stop for a moment, look around at the beauty of the world.. and then I move on. Simple as that

Gears 5 was a massive step up in gameplay mechanics, additions like Jack use, the new enimies, exploration, Guns... Have been playing the campaing for about 14 hrs so far, i think this is the best in the series yet
Shame the exploration is pointless, and Jack's use is shoehorned in for the sake of having different mechanics. There's no way this game is better than the original 3. It barely scored higher than 4
On the small chance you see this in time and assuming you haven't played recently there's currently a "Classic Horde" mode in Gears 5. No abilities or fabricator and everyone starts with Lancer, Gnasher, Snub loadout. If you wanted a Gears 2 Horde without it being on Gears 2 now is your chance, but I'm pretty sure it's a limited-time mode.
The campaign is better but the multiplayer is straight up blasphemy to the gears name. It is so slow and encourages camping. You can't rush the enemy without a special weapon. Wall bouncing sucks and there is no weapon variety( not even the hammerburst). Guns now have more recoil and the gnasher is trash. This is worse than judgement.

The part where he mentions that the shadows are sharp in gears 5 is actually how it should be. The further away or smaller the light source, the sharper shadows. So gears 5 is more accurate in that scenario since that area is being lit by harsh sun.
Yeah I had the same thought, though not for the same reason. It has nothing to do with the distance of the light source in this case. He says it seems like the source is close, but the source is the sun, yet he doesn't complain about the character's shadow being sharp lol it has more to do with the fact that it's a clear sky with little to no diffusion, and that the objects casting the shadows are close to the surface that the shadow is cast upon.
A better way to phrase it would be "The channel has 146K subs, but the quality of this channel is better than channels with a million" but that was pretty good for a non-native speaker

If you're focusing only on the campaign, it is slightly better with the occasional cringey dialogue. The multiplayer is horrendous and panders more to the new players. There was seriously nothing wrong with gears 4 multiplayer, idk why they had to make so many changes

When you compared the textures between both games, for Gears 5, did you install the "Ultra-HD Texture Pack"??? A free add-on. If so, did it make any difference? IF not, you should do so, and maybe commenting upon the difference would be enough.
The Coalition really did a Great Job with 5. They took what they did wrong in 4 since it was a newer company comprised of Vets and Rookies and definitely put their heads together.
Gameplay wise there wasn’t that much or if anything at all to fix, ever heard of that saying don’t fix what’s not broken ? Now look at the gnasher in gears 5, no active reloads,etc. game kind of in terms of a true gears of war game it strays away from that, character skins were good yeah everything else just feels meh the maps they added were old maps AGAIN and we got barely any new maps like 1 or 2 only thing I’m glad they added was free for all of it was for that game mode I wouldn’t of even touched gears 5 after the first week it was out

It amuses me how people judge the new two gears calling it colorful instead of the dark atmosphere we had on the first 3. But like DUH. It has been 25 years, stuff changes. Those were peaceful years. We had time to recover. Nevertheless, because of the Swarm coming back, the atmosphere is becoming darker and the scenarios more destroyed and ashy. The difference is we didnt actually have ashy scenarios like so. We had bad graphics, thus it looking darker and with more ashes.
Gears 5 is arguably the best game in the series. I remember how big Gears 1 and 2 were at the time and how it help push the industry forward on consoles. This is definitely the type of game Xbox needs as they move forward with the brand.
Both games are well made , but to enjoy these games to the max I prefer playing it in HDR on a good big screen TV (Xbox one X) . The level of details is not up to par the my PC counterpart but the atmosphere that HDR brings is really amazing.
To me it looks about the same, Gears 5 just has deeper blacks, thats it. You could put ReShade in GoW4 and it will look almost indentical. Even textures is pretty much same textures, devs probs just enabled higher res.

Good video but it almost doesn't do Gears 5 justice. I'm playing on an XB1X on a 4K TV. The game runs native 4K/60fps. It truly is a night and day difference from Gears 4.
Gears 5 lancer’s crosshair shouldn’t be visible in the shadow as it is an holographic sight, the gears 4 lancer uses a metal crosshair that does reflect a shadow.
Gears of War 5 looks so good. I always though Gears 4's lighting was awful. It made everything look like it was made out of clay; but I was also playing it on the original Xbox One.
Great job :) I find the gameplay heavier, I don't specially like it. It's closer to the gears 1 and 2 heavy gameplay than the more under cocaine gameplay of gears 3 and 4.
One element that's missing from the PC version of Gears 4 but available on the X1X is HDR. At times it can really have a huge impact on image quality. Wish they would add it for PC but at this point I think they're done with the PC version. Another thing I wish they'll do is separate the download of the campaign and multiplayer. Gears 4 is like 125+ GB (can't remember). But for people only interested in the campaign this is a huge waste of space.

I find the gameplay heavier, I don't specially like it. It's closer to the gears 1 and 2 heavy gameplay than the more under cocaine gameplay of gears 3 and 4.
Gears 5 sound design is so much better
One element that's missing from the PC version of Gears 4 but available on the X1X is HDR. At times it can really have a huge impact on image quality. Wish they would add it for PC but at this point I think they're done with the PC version. Another thing I wish they'll do is separate the download of the campaign and multiplayer. Gears 4 is like 125+ GB (can't remember). But for people only interested in the campaign this is a huge waste of space.

They have an entire generation to improve and now the details are less, they only focus on graphics
