Almost ordered arrowzoom panels to help with sound coming out of our game room. So glad I checked this video out. Had no idea there was a difference. Thank you so much for the education!
Been searching all day for an actually helpful video on this stuff and yours is the best by FAR. not only is the info actually what I'm looking for but the quality is excellent, love your metal vibes, and your humor with the room pop ups 😂😍 THANK YOU!
The world badly needs an acoustic treatment revolution. Acoustics should be a key element in designing any room be it a studio, a living room, class room or office space. It amazes me every day that classrooms are still huge echo pits, that they expect you to get any work done in large open office spaces or people that will spend thousands of dollars on home hi-fi equipment but not a cent on room treatment.
Thanks for the advice and thanks for giving us the green light to use your stuff, which I did make a copy of your cover for Hisako that I can listen to through the Buletooth in my car. All that aside, thanks for the advice, because not only did you show a couple of options but you also went into the pros and cons and why for each one.
I've always thought about treating my room for my Voice Over work and this video is a life saver! Thanks for giving me an idea of what I actually need to do. :D Happy New Year LittleV ^__^
Even though I just record for fun, I was thinking of buying foam to put on the walls and had no idea where to start, so thank you very much for this video! :D
Thanks for this video bro..I literally was about to get the arrow zoom as I wna minimize the sound coming out from my room to living room..as I thought anything or any pads will help to do like sound proofing ..thanks to ur vidoe I gota get the other one 👍🏻
Fire retardant materials AREN'T fire proof. They still burn, it just take longer to start the burning You SHOULD still be CAREFUL when using these materials, because they CAN burn Good luck V! :]
Glad I found this video, because I'd been hearing about ArrowZoom and was wondering what the differences might be like between them and the somewhat more expensive Auralex. Somewhat surprising just how much more effective the Auralex ones are o_O
I know you are trying to help people, but i cant even explain all the inaccurate or completely wrong things you've said. BUT, thanks for making content for comparing the two products because crap foam is SO bad. Treating your ceiling, not needing to cover all of your walls, reflection points, and not needing bass traps for voice-overs, and mass to stop sub-bass were accurate and helpful!
No, these are sound treatment options. All these do is stop the sound from coming back at you, reducing echo. For Sound Proofing, you need a high density material that isn't connected to the outside world. For example, you could make a cubicle with enough space in your room, that is big enough for you to stand and stretch out in. Build it with an inside dimension large enough to accommodate the thickness of foam you will be using. The outside should accommodate two layers of 5/8ths drywall plus about half an in of space in between, with as little connecting the two pieces of drywall as possible. Then you need to restrict the flow of air into that box as much as possible, without suffocating yourself. So, the "door" has to be sealed, all the corners need to be sealed, and to make sure you don't suffocate, you could use a baffled vent with some silent computer fans. Make sure you keep a Carbon Monoxide detector in the room so that it will go off should your system fail. Now, you have a box that you can sit in, that is sound proof, but it's echoy as all heck. So, you slap these foam panels on the walls, and that will stop the echo.
@@ikatekeda6267 Wtf are you talking about. Putting the auralex foam on the door would help keep the door from acting an amplifier for the sounds coming out of the room.
@@feel.s1304 depending on the door. One of those hollow, glorified cardboard doors? Sure. A solid door? Wouldn't improve sound proofing at all. But even that is still just treatment because sound will come in just as much as it will leave. It just won't be made worse. It won't solve his problem, and it won't stop sound from leaving the room. It's a SUPER common misconception. Watch any video on the difference between sound proofing and sound treatment and they will say the exact same thing.
Hey dude ..... I'm from the Caribbean island and following your channel...Very informative and edifying video .... tell me, what's the size of the arrowzoom you showed here....and where do I get that size ....would it work for absorbing room echoes...I'm now getting into voice over work....so would the arrowzoom help....my recording space is 4ft x 5ft and 7 ft high
Hey mate! nice video, really helpful, thanks! And here is my stupid question - how you guys hang those things on the walls? Glue or any special things to mount with?
Hey, thanks man! Interesting stuff! I'd love to see a tutorial on microphones. I was GOING to get a Blue Yeti, but some dudes on a webpage I frequent talked me into getting a Presonus starter kit instead. I'm pretty happy with it. I've had it for about a year, but I only JUST NOW got a mic stand with a boom, and it's really paying dividends in terms of audio quality.
Im about to invest in a PC build and i live in army barracks. Im going for streamer quality stuff, but the wall my setup will be against has my roommate on the other side. On nights im up late gaming with the boys, i dont want to keep him up, and most nights he is up late laughing with his friends (glad he is happy, but i wake up before 4 every morning and he doesnt). Comment community help me. Im looking for good panels that will absorb as much sound as possible going both directions and am open to any and all advice. He will quiet down when i ask but i dont want to keep asking and come off as rude when he is trying to enjoy himself

Can you tell me where and how are you placing your Blue yeti mic in detail, and what kind of mount/holder are you using? your voice sound clear and awesome and I'm trying to get the same setup without the mic being visible in the camera
Hi, will you do a metal cover of the epic music heard in the final chapters of the Evil Within 2 ? It's called: An End To All This in the official OST. I love the violin melody in this song, so epic!
What are you using for adhesives? I just bought some Auralex foam, tried a couple different two-sided tapes, neither is sticking well to the foam and the panels keep falling. Looking for strong enough adhesive, but not paint pulling permanent stuff.
Foam isn't meant for sound proofing - soundboard , using layers of different thickness drywall and 703 is better - But foam is great for acoustical sound - thx for your video
My goal is to not wake up my roommate when I watch a movie late at night, it seems as if there is no wall and we can both hear each other’s TVs. Did arrowzoom help with keeping noise inside the room as well?
I'm curious how the sound absorbption would be affected if I attached the foam panels to the wall using thin foam weatherstripping used for doors along the edges instead of attaching the foam directly to the wall. Would that make it better, worse, or no difference?
Thanks for the upload really useful comparison. Do u have a video ahowing best foam to keep noise reduction from neighbors? I can hear them the baby the phone vibrating... i dont know what to do when leasing apt
My room is super tiny, i was thinking of doing the wall behind my moniters, left wall to the desk, and behind me. Room is super tiny. No space left untouch.. right?
So these help you keep the sound in, and isolate it so that it is clearer. But can they help you dampen/block sound coming from an attenant room of you use it on the shared wall/walls between the two? If not, what would, without having to tear down your walls and add fiber inside them?
They do to a minor degree, you want sound proofing. There are some options for sound proofing that don't require you to tear open your walls, but the best ones need to be in the walls If you're still interested a quick Google search for it should get you some more detailed info
Can someone tell me, I have a asic miner, and making a box, I bought the arrowzoom to fill a box full of it, to cut the noise of the miner. Can someone tell me ? It will be in a closed box with the arrowzoom padding inside.
I've got a question, let's say you're in your room, and you're surrounded, well not completely surrounded by sound absorbing foam, will people near you, hear you less? I mean, will they hear you not as loud?
No they only help with reflection but people will still hear your voice if your looking for sound proofing that’s a whole other thing you have to tear down your walls all that stuff
If I bought a giant cardboard box and walled it with these pannels, and sat inside said box, would that yield results?? ((The box is upside down just me and the set up will be inside my foam walled box))
I’m confused on what I need because I don’t think my room echos it just picks up a lot of noise bc I have a condenser mic. Will this reduce some of that or stop it
Condenser microphone are highly sensitive especially if your in a untreated room it’s going to pick noise from miles away just start getting room treated you’ll be alright
7:42 and 8:45 are the most important parts I've seen for a foam test. Nobody else does these simple tests for some reason. Thanks for the upload
Ikr I don’t need my mom yelling at me at 3 am
I watch hundreds of RUclips videos and never comment. You my friend, answered all my questions. Great review. Deserves many more views.

@Bastardz Alley I'm aware of how they work. That's what the video was about and he did touch on actual soundproofing... But, thanks.
I learned a lot from this! I hope there will be more tips and tutorials from yourself in the future. Maybe a video based on how you mix and master?
I like how consistent you are with the room movie screenshots 😂
inmediately subscribed, You explained in what I couldn't understand from top videos on this matter. Thanx
Would definitely see more of these types of tutorials in the future! Enjoyed this one and learned a lot from it!
Thankyou so much V! This helps the hell out of me, who is totally inept when it comes to sound, frequencies, and sound-proofing.
Was not expecting all the room memeing being thrown into such a great video. Laughed every time. Thanks for your work! Liked and Sub'd
Those Room pics are hilarious.
Thanks for the great review!

I freaking love this video, the jokes just make it 1000x better and have similar common gear !
I had so many important questions answered in one vid, and I am a total beginner to this. Thanks a lot.
very good video man! I was just for info to isolate my streaming room, great timing!
Thanks again LittleV!

I am so glad that i didn't go and buy a bunch of those pyramid ones before i watched this. Thanks for the great info!
Can't beat Auralex, they are pricey but well worth it. Excellent video!
Very informative video, thank you!
"It's nice, thick and sturdy and when i put it in front of my mouth" lmaaaaaao 7:39
you can't ignore that girth
Ty very much on the info little v....contemplating starting my own utube/Twitch channel so was looking into sound absorption material.

I watched most of this video earlier in my living room. I just happened to be watch 10:34 in the bathroom which made this creepy lol
Bake Master lol
Your video was very helpful thank you for sharing your awesome video
Happy new year, Little V!!!
Glad I found this video, because I'd been hearing about ArrowZoom and was wondering what the differences might be like between them and the somewhat more expensive Auralex. Somewhat surprising just how much more effective the Auralex ones are o_O

Thanks for the info! Guile Theme from Street Fighter! Yessssss!!!
nice recommendation, thanks
