Man, that's what I call real improvisation! They let themselves go absolutely anywhere they want and this absolute freedom by the price of some a bit off moments creates brilliant pieces of music that worth it all!
Jon Bonham at 5:49 ..whoa. Power, precision, total feel and the heaviest of heavy bottoms--this is how you play the drums kids. One of the all time greats.
Was there and was by far the best concert I have ever been to. This IS NOT the whole concert, no Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Moby Dick drum solo that was WAY too long. So happy I was one of the lucky ones who say them on 17 July 1977. Just 9 days later Robert Plant got news of his sons death. All time favorite band. Led Zeppelin Rules!
sometimes I think.... will the new generations hear our current bands e think: wow, what time these people lived (like ours)? man, I really feel that I was born in the wrong days. haha.. thank you for these beatiful memories!
one of their worst shows actually but on the standard they set head & shoulders above anyone else. Im sure I'll get abuse from diehards for sayin it (am one myself) but still true yet still awesome magical music. just a poor performance on the day.
RyanThompsonGuitarist I have a cd of the complete show. I think perhaps u are viewing this music as a fan. Really not one of pages better nights but there are flashes of magic here. On the whole I stand by what I say (IMHO)
Probably the best live Zeppelin film footage, Ever! Stunning performance. Mind boggling and just astounding. Don't read my blurb, go watch this now and crank it loud.
When I look back at the concerts of this time, they were not prearranged staged shows; they were organic and the way music should be played. Depending on the band, some songs would lead you down a path and back home again with what you heard on the album. I cringe at what has become of the music industry and there is a reason why there are so many "classic rock" radio stations. My kids are grown and on their own, but this is what they listen to. The biggest "jaw drop" question is still how affordable it was to see these great bands back then.
Were here with you man Through thick and thin Traveling those roads with you Never underestimate a band that’s Willing to keep playing through all elements It goes to show you what great lengths musicians go through for the love of their craft............... Zeppelin ❤️✌️
Now this was a good show! this was right after the CA shows where they also kicked ASS!!!!! The whole band is in sync. Man I couldn't talk after the CA shows, this one killed me, esp. opening with "THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME" one of my favs. Good show ENJOY Put on your playlist for sure!!!!! Blessed be
This is one of my favorites. Saw them shortly after in Oakland…unfortunately the last American show. I love how Jimmy’s rocking on The Song Remains the Same!
Amazing in retrospect to realize just how musically avant-garde/"outside" Led Zeppelin could be, especially in the mid to late 70s when that sort of thing was being ironed out by most folks, while still being one of the biggest bands in the world at the time. It's too bad that current popular artists aren't so experimental in their musical approach.
I was born in 1969 maybe I didn't get to enjoy Zeppelin live but I sure as hell enjoy every live concert that I see and feel like I am at every concert I see here on RUclips... Long live zep ⚡⚡⚡
I was there too....70 thousand people attended the show, plus a giant screen was there playing for people way up in the higher seats to see.....yea, it was great.
I was there so long ago. I love Zep but between the Dome and an off night , less than stellar. But glad I had the chance to see them. They were the biggest name in rock at the time and only ten dollars for a ticket!
@ Matt: 300 level here also. I remember it felt like the whole building was spinning around and around when that giant mirror ball kicked in during "Kashmir."
My thoughts exactly, your with band mates heart an soul! Still enjoy the hits to this day. The time wss right for the 4 of the legendary British rockers.
Plants son died at the age of 6 from a virus shortly after this show and they never performed in the USA again. Led Zeppelin never recorded a bad song.
Saw them in March 1977 at Oklahoma City. I lived in Wichita Kansas and the ticket was a package that included a bus ride there and back for $19.50. Couldn't beat that value. They were EXTREMELY f'd up, especially Page and his playing was still pretty good considering he could barely walk... Plant and him argued the whole show and he even flipped a lit cigarette at Plant's hair. He also tried to spit at the audience, but the hocker went straight up and landed on his left shoulder. The songs reflected the tension they had between them. I was kind of disillusioned with the band after that show. But when they got rid of the electric instruments and sat on stools to play a lot of the Physical Graffiti stuff THAT was nothing short of awesome!
Led Zeppelin Seattle 1977 Full Concert Setlist: 01-The Song Remains The Same (00:40/05:50) 02-The Rover (05:52/06:45) 03-Sick Again (06:46/12:30) 04-Nobody's Fault But Mine (13:50/20:23) 05-Over The Hills And Far Away (21:42/29:13) 06-Since I've Been Loving You (30:32/38:36) 07-No Quarter (39:32/01:07:30)
I was wondering that. Just over an hour for a Led Zep show would have to mean, an Earthquake or an attack by Godzilla must have interrupted the show lol
This was a year after Pong was released in a portable format on The Odyssey. Allen Alcorn excerpt from Spirit magazine writes- "In Dec of 76', I remember Jimmy staying up late playing Pinball when I told him Pong was being released on The Odyssey, he wanted one installed on the tour bus. Needless to say, Jimmy spent hours upon hours never sleeping, playing Pong with the roadies, he developed such an addiction to the game the roadies would hide because if he saw one they'd be stuck playing for up to 8 hours a day. The guy never slept. All he did was play Pong and dabble with a bit of drugs. Most people think it was the latter(eg: booze, heroin) but little did they know it was his severe Pong addiction that helped take down the band. After Bonham passed and Atari was set to release the 2600 in the not too distant future, I knew he was a dead man walking." -Allen Alcorn Spirit Mag-83'
Unfortunately, in 1977, I had no heroes. I was too busy trying to survive. The older I got, the more I appreciated the likes of icons such as Led Zep, Michelangelo, certain pro athletes... I was always a dollar short and a day late, but thanks to technology.... you know the rest.
quiquewylde1: I would like to start by thanking you very much for uploading this. I would also like to ask if there is any way that you can please upload the rest of this show.
Saw them in D.C. on this tour. Paid $17 and change for the ticket. During the drum solo, the platform that the drum kit was mounted on moved to the front of the stage and back by remote control.

Robert was so sick the night of this concert delivered a fantastic show! Firecrackers aside it is the best concert to have ever been at even if I almost died outside the Dome hit by a car I still went ripped apart instead of the hospital, I was on crutches though and I got to use the elevator. I was seen by medics first just refused the ride to hospital &I so glad I did!! EPIC
Good to see some of us that were there that day are still alive and kickin'.........and no I had no idea who the Seattle Sounders were back then and there were no Mariners or Seahawks........and the Sonics still sucked.........so I had 3 other teams way before that day.......and it took a long time for the Kingdome to fall down.......now they get to sit out in the cold and wind off the water.....oh Acapulco Gold used to be cool back then and now it is just bunk weed........still have my ticket stub........funny it was during the day and wasn't dark until the show was over........but watch the video and you can tell it was great.
Well, compare this to the Song Remains the Same show at Madison. Page is a shadow of himself, literally and figuratively. I was there. Watch the show. After the heroin wears off, Page plays better. Plus the sound there was HORRIBLE and you could hear, almost watch the echo roll verrry slowly back and forth, back and forth in that tomb. And the mood was kinda crappy. People kept letting off fireworks and Plant threatened to end the show if it didn't stop.
I remember speaking to Paul Martinez that played with Zep at Live Aid about Pagey he said sometimes he was brilliant other times he was just shit. This is one of those shit times....he's still one of the reasons I picked up the guitar..
"BEST BAND EVER "
NO OUTFIT CHANGES, NO BACKUPDANCERSJUST GREAT GREAT FUCKIN MUSIC!!
ITS REAL ROCK IN ROLL
Not all covered up in tattoos either!
And thank you fans at that time for making led Zeppelin so great.. their fans met so much to them and to me today ⚡⚡
Wish I had a time machine to go back to this golden music era.
agree
Just do it now, like I do! Rock on people!
Zep rocks, the power and intensity still goes unmatched today. Nobody beats the mighty led zeppelin. Nobody ⚡
Man, that's what I call real improvisation!
They let themselves go absolutely anywhere they want and this absolute freedom by the price of some a bit off moments creates brilliant pieces of music that worth it all!

Loved this concert especially the encore. 1977 great year to be in Seattle
Jon Bonham at 5:49 ..whoa. Power, precision, total feel and the heaviest of heavy bottoms--this is how you play the drums kids. One of the all time greats.
DEFINITELY - Unforgettable SHOW!
Best concert EVER by ANYONE!!!!
Me too and where's Achilles last stand?
The odds of a little over one hour being a "full concert" are zero. That said, I DON'T CARE!!! Seeing any of this is so great!
even a sloppy concert by zeppelin is better than a good day at the office or even a good day of fishing.
This is painful.
THEE Greatest band Rock n Roll EVER!! LOVE me some Led Zeppelin!! The Greatest Band Ever!!
CAN'T AGREE MORE,
BUT THIS PERFORMANCE ISN'T AS GOOD AS OTHER S I'VE SEEN,STILL PRETTY GOOD!
No.... CHICAGO is the greatest live band of the 1970's with Led Zep being a close second....
terry kath dying was an awful thing..i loved those early albums so much ..kath could play any style of music
Led Zeppelin the real soul of the rock!!!

I have my ticket stub ..... but I wasn't there.
im 15 so thats impossable lol but that would have been awesome
I was there! 1977, baby...greatest show ever
one of their worst shows actually but on the standard they set head & shoulders above anyone else. Im sure I'll get abuse from diehards for sayin it (am one myself) but still true yet still awesome magical music. just a poor performance on the day.
+Paul Logan I've heard an audience version of this concert. It's really good
RyanThompsonGuitarist I have a cd of the complete show. I think perhaps u are viewing this music as a fan. Really not one of pages better nights but there are flashes of magic here. On the whole I stand by what I say (IMHO)
Paul Logan Is yours the soundboard or the audience recording?
+RyanThompsonGuitarist must be the soundboard cos its synced with the video feed
Probably the best live Zeppelin film footage, Ever! Stunning performance. Mind boggling and just astounding. Don't read my blurb, go watch this now and crank it loud.
Crimson Wolf not agree at all , page sound very bad .

I love all the stuff on Presence! That was one of their greatest LP and underrated nowdays, but back then it wasn't underrated!
Tim Rubin Halcomb presence is great.
This is one of my favorites. Saw them shortly after in Oakland…unfortunately the last American show.
I love how Jimmy’s rocking on The Song Remains the Same!
BLOOMIN' BRILLIANT ! Even if it seems that I am looking through "the Fog" ! What a band they were ! Nothing compares !
They are the best, straight up rock n roll, the mighty Led Zeppelin, never be anyone like them, best band ever!
July 17, 1977..one of the last ever U.S. shows....only three after this...one in AZ...then two in Oakland, CA
Amazing in retrospect to realize just how musically avant-garde/"outside" Led Zeppelin could be, especially in the mid to late 70s when that sort of thing was being ironed out by most folks, while still being one of the biggest bands in the world at the time. All the good newer bands are still like this. Check out Ally Venable and Danielle Nicole
I was born in 1969 maybe I didn't get to enjoy Zeppelin live but I sure as hell enjoy every live concert that I see and feel like I am at every concert I see here on RUclips... Long live zep ⚡⚡⚡
youtube is incredible. I was there. now all these years later I get to see what I missed. lol
Jones is amazing on NO Quarter!
+professorpsoop Did they seriously jam that for like 25 mins? lol damn...id love to have dropped acid and played that...lol
professorpsoop Always one of my favorite live Zeppelin songs.
JPJ is playing beautifully.
I was there too....70 thousand people attended the show, plus a giant screen was there playing for people way up in the higher seats to see.....yea, it was great.

omg... love my Zeppelin!!!
even when things were falling apart plant kept a smile
They look wasted, this was the same tour JP had an 'illness' on the fourth day at Chicago Stadium and cancelled. I saw them on day 3!!!
YES IT WAS
ha ha ha ha ha😛😛😛😛
Plant's son died like a week later, then Elvis and they took 2 years off.
My thoughts exactly, your with band mates heart an soul!
Still enjoy the hits to this day.
The time wss right for the 4 of the legendary British rockers.
no quarter took up a quarter of the show.
Plants son died at the age of 6 from a virus shortly after this show and they never performed in the USA again. Led Zeppelin never recorded a bad song.
EXELENTE!!!
Amazing!!!
They toured so much ...Plants voice sounds strained at this point, but they kept touring non stop. No rest in between. Dedicated.
thanks very much for posting this Fucking great gig,, cheers
John Bonham period.

Setlist:
01-The Song Remains The Same (00:40/05:50)
02-The Rover (05:52/06:45)

I saw them in Chicago 1977. You could say that was my coming out so to speak
A haunting video. This was recorded 17 July 1977 just 9 days before Karac died and the tour was cut short.
It would be nice to see this with a full video and audio remastering.
Fucking awesome show man! Thank you for sharing.
7 yrs and no track list comment. Fkn slackers.
I see he has entered the Honey Drippers stage of singing even in 1977.
I went to Cincinnati ohio ones in 1970s they were so awsome
They played over three hours in Greensboro...Bonzo's birthday. I was there at 16 years young.
bonham en los ultimos años era mas nervioso y tocaba mas suelto....pero siempre genial....

We jumped the wall to get in! Good show but 1975 in the Seattle Center Colosseum sound was much better.
We love Purple.
quiquewylde1: I would like to start by thanking you very much for uploading this. I would also like to ask if there is any way that you can please upload the rest of this show.

Over the hills and far away had some shaky parts but ultimately (and some bad feedback...ouch, my ears) Jimmy got his groove on.

I was there. Wish I could remember it. LOL.
+fusion 58 me too in back 300 level stoned outta my mind. my friends and me started partying way too early.
Fuckin' bonzo on 'Sick Again'! awesome
Bonzo was sporting a sort of Bob Segur - Lowell George look on the '77 tour.
Mr. John "Bonzo" Henry Bonham
Mr. John "JPJ" Richard Baldwin
Mr. Robert Anthony Plant
Mr. James Patrick Page
Where did this come from?????AWESOME!! Is this off a DVD? where can I get it??? Thanks for posting it!!!
wth?! How do 14 people not like this?? Go watch Air Supply..
LMAO!!
😂😂
You know you can't fool me. I've been loving you so long.
BAITS AND BULLETS yeah they can go watch air supply and jack off lol
wow who knew
Still great, but having a really rough night.
