For all those who think that this scene has sexual connotations, yes, in terms of Alejandro's positioning and his attitude of dominance, but only up to that point. I have read comments people saying that Alejandro is forcing himself into the narco's mouth sexually. This is not only absurd, the prisoner is not gagged and therefore can bite, but also, even if he were gagged, it would not be a very effective technique. It's the use of water as a method, we see it when the other operative is constantly hydrating him. With his bladder full of liquid, when it is pressed, the sensation of pain and discomfort is considerable. Alejandro also brings a jug of water to reinforce the association, and to use it at a given moment to force him to continue drinking water in a much less delicate way.
That was an interesting scene. I took from it that, alone in the room with the captive, no information was gleaned, whatever occurred in there. However, that interrogation was the perfect way to cover the actual source of the helpful information he obtained from his former colleague and friend, quite coincidentally, when they met in the hall. by this, he boosts his effectiveness in the eyes of the US, blames the info on a flipped cartel family member, and knows his discretion is appreciated by the Mexican authorities. Or am i reading too much into it?
@@MrWizeazz I see all the comments saying so, I'm just not seeing it. Maybe I'm missing the cues. Brolin says something to the effect of, "Oh that's evil, giving him a belly full of water." That led me to waterboarding, along with the jug that Alejandro brought in. I know he got all close to him, I just don't see gay stuff happening there, which is what I'm guessing you're implying.
If you want a closer rendition of the Mexican cartels, try watching Narcos Mexico. It pulls no punches. It's not made to please American audiences. Just to give you a background on how it all started.
Sheeeeit. I worked and lived on that border from Yuma to Big Bend for almost a decade, and the only projectile weapons I saw were the pistols of the US Border Patrol.
He put his knee into his gut. He was already full of water. Water doesn’t compress like air so when he pushes on his gut, water has no place to go so it stretches hollow organ spaces, causing tears and probably a painful death should it continue.
@jamutiramin868 I thought about that, but then there's the sounds. I found a whole discussion thread about it. Apparently in the original script, things happened a little differently, and it was straight up waterboarding.
Oh, you know what happens to him. This clip is HEAVILY edited. In the movie Alejandro takes a step back and begins unbuckling his belt and the cartel guy starts saying "no, no" and looking over at Brolin's character who has a demonic smile on his face because he knows that the cartel guy is about to get Alejandro's full attention rectally.

It wasn't personal though.
I like how relaxed Brolin is in this role like he is going fishing on the weekend
To me it was like he didn't ever have to do much, just let Alejandro do his thing. Almost more like a handler or something.
He had an opportunity to talk to Matt. Now, he had to face torture from Alejandro.
By now operatives know that torture for info doesn't work. The torture wasn't for info anymore.

CIA Special Activities Center probably does things like this on a typical Monday and no one outside the department knows about it

Its most likely one of main reasons why the pentagon cannot ever account for the defense budget for 7 years in a row because of Operations like this

Like 70% of that show is Hollywood bullshit and much of the storyline isn’t even close to accurate.
