Agreed. the entire top 12 were collectively the overall best of any Finals in 15-20 years. Even the Semi-finalists were impressive, with Pacific Crest aaaaaallllllmmmmooossssttt squeezing into finals, and Semifinals were opened by a historic Battalion show that tied JURF!! for 24th place - in only their 3rd trip to Indy. Open Class is deeply weakened with the lose of so many corps even AFTER Covid, but all the remaining corps had a great eyar.
To be fair they had a crazy staff overhaul, rehired JD Shaw and hiring Matt Hartwell or whatever his name is helped them shoot back up. Cool to see for sure
That’s a good thing. They were 12th in 2019. Same thing we saw with Boston 12th in 2016, then top 6 consistently the next 7 years. All comes down to the right staff and people
Sat on the 45, side 1, 5 rows from the field. I knew all summer that this was going to be the crowd favorite and it was. Jumped out of my seat as fast as possible when they hit the Z Pull.
THe only thing that challenged this reaction was the Triumph of the Trooper. These two shows really stayed out in front in terms of audience engagement. The Z-pull was so brilliantly done that it overshadowed every other Cadets tribute this year.
I kept waiting to see the crowd stand up. Then I realized they were standing the whole time.
This was genuinely the best year I could have chosen for my first in person event.
SAME

Literally was thinking about your Crown 19 vid and how Phantom needed one this year 🙏
Whenever I say this was one the best dci experiences I've had watching in person, I mean it, the overall effect phantom had was so good
The crowd was so loud that I literally could not hear the corps. It was at least a 1:30 second standing ovation across the entire stadium.
They went from “I Am Joan” to this in 5 years

Thank you so much for sharing this. I will never forget being there, but this perspective is incredible.
I LOVE this POV. I love watching the crowd rise to their feet.
My first DCI comp ever! I was in that audience yelling until my voice got horse. Been rewatching their show ever since and I get giddy every time!
Gives me chills even hearing this closer faintly. Amazing!
It was an amazing show!
Reminds me of my ageout at crown in 19 🔥 so awesome

@@ZakhadWOW I agree, the troopers show was awesome. The closer when they killed the devil was the cherry on top.
You gotta do these every year!
If you listen closely, you can hear a small SUTA before the z pull ❤️🖤
😭😭😭❤️
REGIMENT!!!!! SUTA!
Should have gotten 3rd place.
