I just realized LadyLavinias plays two
gentle and softspoken Characters. Man I’m gonna miss that Dragonborn Paladin with a gambling problem.
I'm going to miss him too. Although I think Vee is more of a timid child like voice while solaris is more confident, old, and wise.

Wouldn't it have been a fun twist if all the listless skeletons are actually there as a result of the Animate Dead spell that Craig cast in the earlier episode because it was a more powerful version of the spell than they realized?

The debate on whether undead are necessarily evil pleasantly reminded me of Planescape Torment where they are just a thing, and destroying them on sight kind of makes you an ass.

I just recently started watching this series so I find it very fascinating to see what classes everyone is, thank you for bringing that up. I am very much looking forward to seeing how everyone develops over the series. :)
What a great episode. After last session's messing around Baldurs Gate episode, this one had a sense of pushing the plot forward, with a great mix of combat and gameplay.
And Joel is on point as a DM. Quality.
We do probably have to get to hell sometime, right??
Haven't gotten to have a session in a month thanks to adulthood, so this is gonna help me deal with my withdrawls until tonight's session.

Been watching this series since it began and I am quite enjoying myself! The blend of narrative and humour is on point and I adore the party dynamics going on. The fact it's one week of this and then of Icewind (Candlekeep for now!) keeps it fresh, and I like to see Merchant getting to both DM and play.

Hey, Professional GM: turning Invisible does not automatically make you Hidden! The characters should have known the hag's position, though they would have suffered Disadvantage when making attacks against her.
It's a hag, so more likely they went ethereal

I play the DnD games but I've never played tabletop. This is my first time listening through a campaign. It's the prequel to Baldur's Gate 3 with an epic story of an angelic army invading Hell and a team of adventurers travel into Hell themselves to try to prevent Baldur's Gate descent into Hell. Even a trinity of evil deities.
I got to the last hour of this episode that I've spent over 12 hours so far listening to it and so far the adventures are still cluelessly bumbling along, still having not found their way to Hell. I've given up on it at this point with 36 episodes in total. Is this typical for a DnD campaign or is this module just a bit of a mess?
This module is very poorly written lmao. We all loved playing the campaign because we enjoy playing together, but I personally hated this module lol.
@@MerchantTV Lol thanks for the response. I wasn't expecting one from you personally! I've started listening to both your Candlekeep and Strahd campaigns and I love them. Both gnome characters are hilarious. Everything is better with gnomes. I also started the Ravnica one as well. I love your goblin character too. Yeah, my ADHD makes me jump around a lot. :D Your campaigns are getting me through the mind-numbing drudgery of work.

How do you guys roll stats?
fairly certain they do "point buy" or "standard array"
@@dylanburgdorf Close! I give the option to standard array, but always prefer the chaos of the dice for the characters. There is a "hero" rule I use for dice rolls though, if your 3d6d1 for all stats does not net you 15 or higher on any roll, you can re-roll the whole batch. I do think most players here rolled for stats.
