Idaho Cattle Haulers Speeding in Oregon

- Idaho Cattle Haulers passing me at 70 mph + on I -84 east on Pendleton. I don't know how they get away with it. The speed limit in Oregon is 55 mph for trucks. In the 80's when I started driving, 61-62 mph in a truck would get you a ticket. Maybe not anymore.
Them boys roll hard. True outlaw truckers. There's a reason why you never see them at truck stops. It's because they don't stop for anything. They are only allowed to keep livestock in trailers for a certain amount of time. So they'll do whatever it takes to get that load where it's going in that time frame. Their wheels literally never stop turning until that load is delivered. And they make big money so fuel really isn't a concern to them.
I've been doing 85 on the freeway in my car while on a road trip and about got my doors blown off by a convoy of bull haulers doing a good 95+ through the desert. A lot of those boys add a lot of power modifications to their trucks to get even more speed out of them. They literally give 0 fucks. Don't get in their way
dangerous , illegal and wrong

Haha mega fleet steering wheel holders pissed cause their shit governed to 55...you just keep that right lane warm and cozy, and let them boys tear that left lane up 10-4.
Lol yup what a fucking puss box
Actually Keith, I am a Teamster driver. Like UPS , ABF , and other teamster outfits, we obey the law and are about the very last ones left who operate professionally. I don't even think most people understand what that means. It starts with a pre trip inspection, not just a quick look and turn the key. It involves inter trip inspections, meaning, feeling hubs, checking leaf springs, checking tires , listening for air leaks , it means running the right lane most all the time, slowing down and letting vehicles merge. It means a legal log book, not , whatever you can get away with. It means proper cargo securement to the letter of the law. It means chaining up when conditions truly require, not if a state trooper is told to be 40 miles ahead at the top of the pass..... Things like that, that all the old time drivers once did.
MetalTeamster fuck the teamsters and yea you all obey the law that's funny.
I am not responding to anymore of your foul comments
MetalTeamster Thank Fucking god.
75 is not fast. 100 now that is getting up there. if the cattle die in transit well that is counter productive now isn't it ! also every hour those cattle are not eating that is money lost due to weight loss so the object is to move them fast and efficient. you should stick to dry van freight 😋
That is your opinion. I think 75 is very fast. That is my opinion. If cattle die because drivers are not breaking the law, I think that is bad planning.
MetalTeamster puss.
Some tires are limited to 75.
@@MetalTeamster I hauled cattle for many, many moons and if you think 75 is fast, stick with the outfits you drive for now because bullhauling would make someone like you shit themselves on an hourly basis..longer they are on the hoof, bigger chances of them laying down and getting trampled, shrinkage etc etc..mooove 'em on down the line.

Wisconsin still has a 65 mph speed limit to this day, as it has been since 1987, but at least 65 mph has always applied for both cars and trucks. WI never had a lower truck limit. IL IN and MI have had lower truck speed limits. Michigan still does to this day @ 60 mph. It's ironic that MI was the first out of these four states to allow cars to travel 70 mph in 1996, Indiana and Illinois would follow much later, IN 2005, IL 2014.
Plain and simple we do it because we can, DOT don't really mess with us especially when loaded, cows can't stay on truck very long before they start dropping weight, overheating and dying so that's why you don't catch us blocking the fuel line going and getting a sodie water and Cheese burger.
they should make a separate speed limit for cattle then. Logs are important as well...

Well, apparently the people of those states don't think so because if they truly wanted to change it, they could. The Corporations could be the first to change it by supporting politicians who would change it.
Thomas Vadeika I totally agree. I wish we had Minnesota's speed limits. Maximum 80 and minimum 55 and no strict truck speed limit.
@@hollowaang5284 why are you in such a hurry ? Do you know no tire manufacturer warranties tires over 75... ? There may be a good reason for that
@@MetalTeamster I never said I had the need to go 80mph in a large truck but we can all agree that 55mph maximum on a wide open Interstate is just plain ridiculous. That's the kind of speed you should go on 2 lane highway's.
@@MetalTeamster truck speed is 80 in Utah. 70 in Idaho. I know a lot of truckers that go 70-75 because they know how to handle their equipment. It’s a proven fact that slower drivers cause more accidents. That’s in both cars and semis.

IN TEXAS STATE TROOPER USA BULL-WAGON FOR ESCORTS,
I guess the commentary just shows how little experience you have in Truckin.. Cattle can only be in the trailer for so long and a vast majority of what comes up the I5 comes out of Southern California so they need to get the destination at all cost and at $3,000 a head x 35 do the math. So quit complaining let us by and enjoy the ride.
You think 70 or 75? I got a ticket for 113 loaded
I know this is old but have you ever hauled cattle it's not like hauling general freight or ltl freight such as ups and such. it's very time sensitive. you have only so much time to get from point A to B be with cattle until they need to graze or need water. can't stop anywhere because that can cause illnesses to spread which causes a bad situation.
I would say now that there is a business friendly President, you can do whatever you want, regardless of laws. So have at it...

At the time this was filmed the speed limit for trucks was 55 in Oregon
Because you have to get the cattle there.Confined to a small area for extended periods is not good for the animal.75 is not bad watch them in open land.Smash the straits and cruise the curves

Cattle hauling ain’t for everyone 🥲
why don't they have a speed limit of 75-80-85 for cattle? They make exceptions for oil field drivers for hours of service. If cattle are so important that they need to be hauled at that speed fine, change the laws then
@@MetalTeamster well there teamster, cattle do have their own regulations. Cattle have to be unloaded in 24 hours. No exceptions. That’s why we speed. Most the time we have 24 hours to make a 24 hour haul. You’re hauling live animals that have to be fed and watered. You have to keep that left door shut and hammer down. That’s why cattle haulers used to be known as the elite drivers. Before plastic trucks and Cracker Jack box CDLs made it possible for any swinging dick to get into a truck. Anything agricultural, get the fuck out of their way.
@@MetalTeamster not to mention, the longer you have cattle on your truck the more they’re gonna shit and piss adding weight to your truck. Plenty of times I’ve loaded out legal and went through a port 1000 heavy because I couldn’t open my drains and boom, overweight ticket. Hauling cows isn’t like hauling anything else on this planet. We are in our own little world, not many could do what we do. You couldn’t, you’d never last a week hauling cows...not at the speed you’re driving. 😂
@@chevyolson3075 I have no desire to haul cattle, so no worry about how long I would last. Ok, so what you are saying is you are forced to break the law. I hear that....so, how do you keep your CDL long term then?
@@MetalTeamster like I said, only a select few have the cherries to haul cattle.
I’ve kept my CDL because I know every way around every scale in OR, WA, CA, ID and NV. Running nights and a $600 radar detector have kept me clean.
The point in all of this, you’re not a cattle hauler. So you don’t know the first thing about cattle hauling. Which means, your opinion of hauling cattle is completely irrelevant. Too many people in the world today that have opinions on shit they know nothing about. Leave the cattle hauling to the cattle haulers. Just don’t bitch when we blow your doors off your governed freightliner. 😂
These guys really get with the programme
Cuz cattle and livestock get “ shipping fever “ from being in a trailer and they get hot then the wind blows on them and they get sick. Less time in a trailer the less sick cows you have at the farm. Time is literally money. Hammer down ol son
Its because by law you only have so many hours to have the cattle in the truck before they have to be unloaded fed and watered thats why the dont ship by rail anymore i got red tagged for being over length 1 time at the scales in the summer at wheeler ridge it was 108 i had on springers (pregnant cows) 1 call to the humane society and the cop was pissed but let me go that was the early 80s before they raised the max length
Oh c'mon guys - I grew up in Medford and have you ever seen a log truck go the speed limit?! Hell no. In Southern Oregon you get out of the way when a log truck is behind you. Seriously. Why do you think they have rigs with nothing?! No comforts of any kind, just a seat, a windshield, a steering wheel and a gearshift: less weight, faster truck. The more loads they can get to the mill means more money.
cattle are time critical sensetive what ever you want to call it buyers buy cattle based on weight so much per pound and they shrink an average of 10 lbs an hour in transit and with a whole load by the time you get to the kill floor on a little baby trip of 800 miles they lose close to 3,000lbs now thats back east here where im from in pa so you figure they kill 1,600 cattle a day with average 36 head/load thats 44 loads a day average at 3,000lb loss at .80/lb thats over $100,000 a day in loss just because of what they call drift or for non cattle hauler terms shrinkage
Well , then I guess you much just be forced to break laws. The price is the most important thing.
MetalTeamster well thats just how it works bud its not a job for everybody theres no possible way to legally drive anything over 700 miles in 11 hours but cattle cant sit on a truck for 2 10 hour breaks plus the trip time thats just common sense
Well now I know why. I wonder when the county rep will calculate their excess speed and miles, keep them waiting on the side of the road to make up for their speed?
They have to be running the trucks fast cattle can only be kept loaded like that for a short while due to heat and so on.
If you can't hang with the big dogs stay on the porch
Back in the day when Texas speed limits were 60 mph during the day and 55 at night, I would get with a group of bull haulers at night and go across Texas on 54 doing 90+.
Took no time at all to get through it!
First of all I come from a family of bull hauler and the only reason why they speed like that is your not on your time your on the cattle time you have got to get to a feed lot to get the cattle water or feed also it could be the process plant has you on a dead line there could be many reasons bull haulers are the kings of the interstate
Ok, then why don't they create a special speed limit for them?
Hell yeah. I respect all bull haulers, and I certainly move the fuck out of their way. Go ahead and hate, but they know what they're doing.
It's 65 mph through here for trucks
Willy, when I shot this video, it was 55..... these guys were doing 20 mph over at least. Oregon used to be very serious about speeding trucks, but not so much anymore.
I knew a company that carried Deer. They had to drove slow otherwise their freight could die from shock. This was in New Zealand..
It's what you call a LIVE load get it there before it's not live anymore

@@MetalTeamster fuck pro law. We are pro make a fucking good living. Unlike you slow walk with no purpose pacifists who won’t do what needs to be done to make an extra buck.
they have a certain amount of time to get them to their destination. its not like hauling anything else where if we're late do to weather or a stupid speed limit sign the product wont go bad. livestock they do after being cramped in a certain amount of space. funny how you say its your opinion yet when others post theirs you get ass hurt about it. do your job and they'll do theirs. you or your family dont bitch when you buy food because a bull hauler, hog hauler, and a chicken hauler do this to make sure you get your shit without it being tainted by dirty meat because if one gets sick they all do and thats a load lost and less people get fed. just food for thought.. pun inteded.
I still think that the law is the law. Regardless of what you are hauling. But if you think it is important to break it, that is your opinion. Thanks
Dude why do you think you never see them pulled over by highway patrol? Ive seen them in california all the way to the midwest going fast. Obviously in states like wyoming, utah, nevada, and nebraska where the speed limit is 95% set at 75 there is no need for them to go faster, but in california the cops know that they have to get to point b in a certain amount of time so they give them leeway but not too much. They're not wreckless drivers. They dont zig zag in and out of traffic. They know how to drive at those speeds safely.
Ok, perhaps they should just be allowed to drive and do whatever they want. Point made

@@MetalTeamster Unions do have a way of making people work slower . Are you sure your not just milking the clock and using the law as an excuse ?
Soon as those cattle hit the trailer it’s go time. Every minute is money lost. You’ve gotta move cattle fast, while keeping them cool, so that that retain as much weight as possible. In the cattle market (which I know very well) every pound lost is money lost, and when you lose many pounds, because your driver didn’t get there fast enough, you lose your profit. Live animals need food and water. If they stay in a moving trailer too long their legs get tired and they don’t get back up, causing your profit to fall. Most large scale cattle operations are barely floating over until they sell, which is all that pays for: feed, water, hay, land, help, and shelter. Speeding isn’t good but killing 300 head of cattle because you didn’t make it in time is far worse than getting a speeding ticket. Because 300 head of dead cattle is equivalent to $600,000 lost.
He blew your doors off lol

if ur worried about stopping lmao drive on a 50mph us -route and not a 70mph interstate!!!
Just another wanna be that can't even run 2 log books.
I could do that, but #1 - I don't want to. I make enough money with one as a Union member to pay for my $450,000 home, my BMW , my annual vacation to Hawaii to golf, and fund my Pension and excellent health Insurance. #2 - It is illegal and un sustainable in the long run...
Mind your own fucking business 🤣🤣
Enjoy your burger
So here in the comments section you’re calling these bull haulers “liberals”…you do realize what’s gonna eventually happen with the cattle, right? Show me one liberal who would get into this line of work. I’ll wait.
Sincerely, a conservative, not a bootlicker. You gotta do what you gotta do
I thought a big part of being a conservative was law and order? These drivers clearly don't believe in that. Their speed was egregious/ major cdl speeding violations
@@MetalTeamster you’re not listening. You make the rest of us conservatives look bad. Yes we do tend to obey the law, just not blindly. It gets to a point where you have to use your own brain instead of relying on someone else’s. Every self respecting conservative has a little old school outlaw in them, with a pair of balls. May I also clarify that you’ll NEVER see a liberal transporting cattle in a straight-piped diesel truck to possibly a slaughterhouse 😂😂
@@MetalTeamsteryou’re not listening. Yes we do tend to follow the law with most things, but there always comes a time where you have to rely on your own brain rather than the government we claim to not trust. You missed my point too about liberals being in that line of work. I guarantee you’ll see ZERO liberals hauling cattle to possibly a slaughterhouse via a straight-piped diesel truck, seeing how it’s usually liberals buying into the vegan and EPA bullshit
@@MetalTeamster like keeping your hands off of your phone while driving, unlike what you did here?
@@larryspencer8213 this was a go pro. I checked with the OSP , the ISP, the Montana Highway Patrol and the WSP which were the four states I ran and none said I was illegal touching a go pro. This was filmed in 2016 which was before the speed limit was increased to 65 for trucks. These trucks were going 30 mph over the speed limit
🤓🤡
They drive fast all the time. Use the cargo as the excuse.
Stop crying
Ok, I will sir
How about you mind your own business.
Taje a look at your hand when you are pointing, how many fingers are pointing back at yourself
@@MetalTeamster I’m not putting boring ass videos on RUclips about how fast people are driving. STFU.
@@jacemiller2593 not your website.
When you break the law in public legally you're making that everyone's business don't break the law and people won't be in your business simple.
@@acethedriver2895 I agree. And people in public can not have any expectations of privacy
