Dirty equipment drives me bananas. Whenever I'm done mowing with the Tractor or using my trimmer and blower I always clean equipment off before I put them away. My wife thinks I go overboard but ya gotta take care of your stuff
Great video, thank you very much. It may sound funny, but I use a toilet brush to agitate dirt on large surfaces in the garden - took that from a bike cleaning video and works like charm.
Good job... You mentioned in another video that you were using a paint sprayer? for the cleaning instead of the large pressure washer. Fantastic! I was on line a few months ago looking for mini pressure washers. Can you speak more about that idea and what you used.
The cub cadet Mower I am working on is just as bad as this one on the underside. I scraped at it for about 20 minutes.Yesterday but today is pressure washer time.
Usually those foam filters have a filter oil on them to help them filter the air it's a tacky oil , wash and dry filter add a few dots of filter oil in different spots on filter and squish filter in your hand to spread the oil around it'll catch more dirt and filter the air better
I usually first off take a blower and air compressor and knock off the crud on the outside along with a stiff brush maybe but no water. That way I can start tearing down and not have water worries and 99% of the time it'll just be for me and not going to sell. I'll get stuff mechanically sound and if someone else ends up with it, they can clean it up to their own specs. And if a foam filter is shot and I have to wait to get one I use OOOO steel wool with a little oil and it seems to work fine till I gat a foam insert. Raining here so no mower work yet. BLESSINGS!
I'm pretty sure the foam filter is supposed to have oil on it as well its a filter oil that is tacky sticks to your fingers and strings off when you pull your fingers apart at least the high end filters do and the combination filters with the pleated filter and the foam ring filter which gets oiled Oh and it don't take much of that oil maybe 3 to 6 drops depending on how big the foam filter is
Well done on the clean! Looks so much better and easier to fix. Now for a couple of questions. (1) Did you fix the muffler guard as one of the lugs is clearly broken? (2) I noticed That your garden hose makes a whirling noise. Is it the nozzle or do you pump recycled water? Oh, I just saw the last post, you use a paint sprayer - any chance you can show us that?
1. no I just took the guard off for now. its made of aluminum so I can't weld it. 2. the noise you hear is the paint sprayer and yes I plan on showing it later on
A nice cleaning, it deserved it, would of been easier with pressure cleaner but you can peal the paint off like with brushes on a power tool. I did have a issue with the way you had the mower cleaning the deck for the general public to replicate they must know that may result with the oil can go to the exhaust or carburettor, this can be avoided by removing the oil first. The correct method is to put the mower back to put the handles back to the floor and put a sand bag or bag of grass to keep the handles down. Secondly to disconnect the spark plug, even though you removed blade.
Harbor freight sells a pack of 3 brushes steel, brass and nylon I think you would have better cleaning if you got it and used the nylon one instead of a toothbrush and do you oil the filter like it says to do or not
@Eric Richardson Red is definitely popular now. We see a lot of colors. Husqvarna breaks the mold with orange, and they are the easiest sell but it's the brand name selling them. After that it's red, ,black and silver/gray. I can barely give the silver/gray ones away, even if they are perfect. 🙄
I would of used the pressure washer on the lawn mower. I wouldn’t care what the neighbours think. They can’t understand why you’re using the washer, then they can just take a trip until you’re done. Usually neighbours don’t care what they do even if it bothers you. That’s my experience anyway.
Its nice ofnyou to be considerate with your neighbours, most people don't give a crap about them, but would it be that bad to use a pressure washer for a few minutes instead of scrubbing everything with a toothbrush? Lol

I totally agree! I will wax my equipment every so often.
@@smallengines1018 same here.. The way I look at is we work hard for our stuff, and the machines we use aren't cheap
thank you Gary Allen

thanks and nothing wrong with using what you have available
If I wash down a mower I always dry it off with the leaf blower.
nice
Air compressor

thank you Ed Rodrigues, this one uses a bucket to pull the water from. that means I can use hot water. ill show more about it later on
Does that mower keep running on a steep incline? some of those mowers stall out because the carburetor won't work.
yes it should be good for up to 15 degrees, however if it's much steeper than that, you'll need a 2 stroke mower.
We’re did you get the scraper you use to clean the mower decks
I picked up in a free pile of stuff no idea where the got it from
Have you considered getting some drill brushes. They make cleaning so much faster.
I have some but I don't always use them

yes, if it's going to be bad, and you're not making a video about it, then just power wash it
$190 may be too much but $130 is too low. Oh wow at the blade...... Surprise! Amazing cleanup. Nice work.
Thanks Bob Newhart.

I honestly love the cleaning videos! please do keep making them 😁
You got it!
why does your pressure washer sound like that?
its actually a paint sprayer

It's "Buy me red" so you have to make sure it looks good 🙂
you are correct
Most lawnmowers are in buy me red lol at least it's the most common color I see

you are correct, a few minutes of the pressure washer would have saved me a lot of time
That was one of the dirtiest mowers I have seen on your channel.
I know right
That mower blade doesn't look like the right one and one for THAT size mower needs to be chosen with HIGHER lift ends so the grass doesn't stick...
that's the original blade the I'll have to cut down and balance so I can use it for the test start. it will be replaced later on.
