I'm a Wyvern Brotherhood member and a close friend of Zart, also the guy from the screenshot about it being a placeholder. Few weeks ago we talked about getting a custom outfit in the guild since other dev guilds get to have them, Zart kind of rushed it though so he got them from a group that made outfits about dragons (Wyvern = some kind of dragon) and added it to the game, not even us knew it was AI generated until artists started complaining about it. After we looked at it it really looked like AI which is why we believed it would be a placeholder. (Also what you said about it me saying its a placeholder after "nearly everybody found out" is kinda false because i said that before it was spread around) Basically, Zart didnt mean to harm anyone with these outfits and he just wanted to do something cool for the guild. But due to him being very busy (he doesnt only work for Deepwoken and has multiple projects), he rushed it a little bit, he didn't know it was AI either because of that. Hope this explains it for u guys.
@@bbgun9076 Both mods and fan artists enforce it due to it being such a controversial thing. I'm a fan artist and I've seen a few people get exposed by other artists for AI art, who then got their role removed by mods instantly.

the majority of deepwoken fan artists are overwhelmingly good with comms and following through. with someone of that stature, they *should* be checking their history. if they don't that's kinda on them
This is a dumb argument, you can see the person's work and their commissions to find out whether they'd be a suitable and hireable artist. I assume you're not very familiar with artistic communities, though, so that's completely fine of you to not know

It really doesn't take too long to do a quick search on them, to see past work and whether they're good at doing commissions or not. A lack of effort had been put in, and that's why they ended up being sold something AI generated.

Devs having their own abilities is fine tbh, they made the game, they can be whatever they want in the game. But all of wyvern brotherhood and order of the unsung having their own custom armor schematic is just stupid as hell. Guild bases are still lame as ever and have nothing exclusive or unique to them and these dev guild mfs are getting entire custom schematics for just being in the guild. Not even friend exclusive stuff, the ENTIRE guild exclusive stuff. I’m mostly annoyed because the variety of schematics in the game is still ass.
This whole situation is bs, zart accidentally put ai art into the game and everyone loses they're shit and wyvern can't keep the outfit or add a new one thats NOT ai without even more backlash, meanwhile other dev guilds like unsung give out custom armors names and more to random people for no reason but no one cares. (keep in mind wyvern barely gives out custom names and doesn't even have a custom coat like melonbeard)
You missed the issue entirely, using AI instead of hiring an actual artist shows a lack of willingness to put time and energy in, its not like they have no artists, they have thousands of people who'd be willing to make it. You can say its an accident but the truth is you don't really know, could just be used to save face. I think its a bit of an overreaction from the community, but its because of pent up frustration towards the dev team. The fact of the matter is, deepwoken is seen as the peak of quality in roblox, and the lack of new content implemented this year shows a decline in this quality. The AI art further enforces this thought, why were they in such a rush to get art they resorted to an untrustworthy artist who made AI? It's just telling of the direction the game is going. And people are worried little things like this may be a sign that deepwoken is ending.
@@leoboy2685 Personally, while I definitely agree with you for the most part, I don't really see the decline in quality, as someone who played through verse 1, I remember practically quitting due to the game getting extremely dry with little to no new and exciting content to try out through the middle of the year, only really coming back for verse 2. We've gotten a slew of balance changes, oaths, shrines, weapons, attunement paths, and a whole new attunement to use. Obviously, this might not be enough to some players, but I think we've gotten a massive amount of content, and a LOT of work has been put in to get out patches very consistently on a weekly basis.

AI art is an endlessly debated topic, one of the biggest topics with it is due to the fact that a lot of the time it's been made using other artist's art to train the AI without the artist's consent. Other topics that have been debated include things like taking away artist's livelihoods due to the accessibility of AI art.
Especially when you look at it from the viewpoint of someone who's spent hundreds or perhaps even thousands of hours practicing and learning how to draw, it puts it into perspective how AI art, especially when they steal references, tramples all over them and their efforts.

Human artists can add soul, conscious thought, and emotion in art whereas AI poorly replicates what humans do better based on a prompt. AI is soulless and has no consciousness (yet), so it cant add these things to any art it generates. However, the amount of people willing to replace human artists with the worse AI is what's really worrying. I'm sure most of you have seen an unbelievable amount of AI generated game icons, ads, and thumbnails on Roblox by now Despite the AI art being flawed and overall worse than human art, people will still go the easy route and use the AI instead of paying an artist for a commission I can understand the "its good for smaller devs" argument, but theres ways to make good effective thumbnails and ads without much GFX skill (or any at all). also if you have the robux to buy ads you have the robux to pay for real artists so those ads wont get any pass

Another point may be the fact that there are thousands of willing artists who would've loved to have done something like this for the Wyvern Midderhood, but the fact they went to a group who used AI generated art kind of tramples on the good faith of other artists. (Judging from other comments, they didn't know it was AI generated until it was pointed out, so I can't fault them entirely for that. They are still at fault however as they could've went to a more reputable source)

AI art can be used in many ways to help people create, but creating an entire piece with AI art is similar to plagiarism, it's "okay" if you aren't doing anything serious. People are upset at the developers because this is a LARGE game with a WILLING fan base that might even do it for free!

Also, it's not just about pay, it's about principle, and the fact that given the lack of knowledge about the AI used, (or at least, I haven't found anything talking about the AI used for the generated armour) we don't know what references that AI had been using to make said armour. It could've been trained off of stolen works, which is the main argument against AI that I see nowadays.

Ive even spoken with Naktigonis before he was great too, me personally i think we shouldnt complain about lack of content, since.. we get content every week, it might not be the best but atleast its something. Verse 2 was something huge and they only started working on it in march 2022, but the amount of content we got + weekly updates lasted us for MONTHS, deepwoken has been dry.. but theres so much more to come. Nobody should ever hate on the devs, they're doing their best!!!!!!!! (i do think we should get more player suggested outfits/weapons though.)
