"Montreal, the cultural capital of Canada, the Paris end of North America! Every year when the ice pack melts, the locals emerge into the twittering sunlight for a month of comedy, art, jazz, late nights, heavy drinking, lovely ladies and chips covered in gravy and cheese curd, hearts living the world's greatest comedy festival! This, ladies and gentlemen of Australia, is Just for Laughs!" That Aussie knows exactly what's up!
I’ve been watching the latest comedians on tv in Australia and I’m really struggling to find a single laugh. Either the audience is drunk or the laughter is canned because so many jokes are just not even close to funny.
Following this week's news, I really, really hope they can properly restructure and come back in full force in 2025. Losing the institution that JFL is and everything around it would be such a tragedy. And as a Montrealer, I would be very sad to lose the Galas, New Faces and the chance to see so many great comedians every year.
When Norm MacDonald appeared on the screen in this video, I was all prepared to write a comment on RUclips, but all of a sudden, there's MacDonald making a joke and I just LOL-ed my fanny off! As of 2022, I've seen a pair of legendary comic icons that have since passed. R.I.P., Norm MacDonald, Joan Rivers, John Candyand Jonathan Winters. But there's so many comic legends to enjoy now and forever: Canada's own Martin Short, Seth Rogan, Jimmy Kimmel, Sarah Silverman, Pete Davidson, and the list goes on and on and on. 🤣😂😅🤣😂😅

Unfortunately had to trim out the Mr. Bean debut back in the 1980s :( It's available on RUclips, definitely worth checking out!

Montréal is home to Québec's National Comedy School.
Yep, you read that right : we actually have a comedy school.
Hell yeah we do
RIP Norm McDonald. You were one of a kind and we will never forget you.

Nah, the current winds in Quebec right now probably don't like how "English" it is.
Well guess what, it is coming back next year :)
Can't wait
Pretty cool montage and it's even bigger in french, we get both.

Juste Pour Rire Stand Up Comedy
Also the biggest jazz event and was the biggest fireworks event.
1:34 & 15:32 FLUFFYYYYYY !!!!
Will there be a 2022 festival??
Most likely! Fingers crossed 🤞
Thank you for another great video. I'm always excited to watch new content from Discover Montréal.
Thank you so much Sonia!♥️
I will be in Montreal around September
Exciting! Where are you visiting from?
Tampa, FL but I’m catching the air Canada. Can’t wait to visit. Hope the city it lives up to the hype.
How was it
Love Bill Burr and Dave
If I knew this channel existed when I had gotten an offer letter I would've been in montreal instead of brampton....
Brampton sucks
The amount of Joe Rogan clips I see in these videos (as much as they are great and well put together) is unsettling
If he had positive experiences in Montreal, why not include it? Censoring people we don't agree with never ends well.
I wish the world had less of this^^ and more of 1:20-1:29!
Positive 🤝
