Where do you get your standard Fordson rear half shaft bearings from? Old 20 do them but at a hefty price. Regards Matthew.
Yo can try your local bearing company but I got mine from old twenty, they're not dear if you haven't spent much money on other part's?
@@FenlandCrusader yes it’s quite a unique bearing . Probably have to go with them. But as you know it all adds up 😆
It does come with new outer sleeve for the roller to fit in so as long as you're half shaft is in good order it will be a top job 👍
@@FenlandCrusader yes it needs to be done properly. My half shafts are sound where the bearings fit but a little pitted out where the grease seal and tin cap sit .
Was that a 780 combine in the background?
Yes and no one is a 788 and the other one is 780 special so yes you weren't far away 👍
My grandfather had a 1955 Massey Harris 780 bagger. It was 8'-6" cut with electric table lift. It had a Perkins L4 diesel engine.
Later, it was converted to a tanker by my father.
Even now, I am in my 60s. I get very nostalgic when I see a 780.
Many thanks.
@martinhambleton5076 if you go on my combining video the 788 is in action there ,both of mine are perkins4.270 but 780 special was a l4 in its earlier life
