My son gone almost 2 years ago.... he was 18 and he was shining and was embracing the life .. Das erste Lied auf dieser Kassette war The River. Damit hatte er mich schon gepackt. Seitdem liebe ich seine Musik und das was er damit sagen will. Ich durfte ihn mittlerweile auch schon mehrere Male live sehen, mein erstes Mal auf einem Konzert war in den 90ern... We lost our mum, grandpa and gran in the space of two years. My dad lived far away so they raised us between them and my mum in particular was a big fan of Springsteen. Watching this for the first time in December 2022. The memories of that terrible time come back in the blink of an eye. We lost a cousin, Paul Beyer, who was in the second (North) tower when it collapsed. He was on the job with the FDNY, heading up the stairs to fight the fire and rescue civilians on the upper floors. Total devotion to duty. Thank you Bruce, for this.

I grew up on the greatest songwriters of classic rock--Dylan, The Band, McCartney and all the rest. Even though "Born in the USA" gets a ton of radio airplay, I was very, very late coming to basically all of Bruce's work. I don't know why. It's always been just as good, just as profoundly important and beautiful as it is today. I think there's always been a singular mix of sadness, weariness, longing, and ultimately hope in it. I don't think I was wise enough as a young man to know how beautiful his songs are. I didn't have the depth myself to appreciate just how deep they go. I don't think I knew enough about love to hear the love in them. I don't think I'd suffered enough loss as a young man to feel how they comfort us in our loss. I hadn't fought enough depression in my teens yet to hear him fighting with and overcoming his own depression in every line. My life has been full of very talented people writing, singing, and strumming. But I wasn't a full enough human being in my youth to fully appreciate that Bruce is one of the very best of them who ever lived, for reasons that are maybe too complicated even now for me to fully articulate. Thanks for waiting around so long for me to discover you, Bruce. Thank you for continuing to bring us this force we need in our lives, and for writing songs that fill the holes we didn't even know we needed filled.

I first became a fan 40+ years ago in college and with all the great music since, he’s still my favorite. If anything, he’s become more open and humane over the years. I miss the young Bruce with all the swagger of youth, but this Bruce, this older man who has seen life for what it is and is still this beautiful human being, this Bruce gives me faith in humanity.

I played a song at my wife's funeral this April after she passed suddenly way too young. If I should fall behind will you wait for me was the second song on her photo DVD. Now hearing this song he's right I now see her in my dreams and I wake up in tears. This winter is gonna be a tough one for our 13 year old daughter and I. This song hit me pretty hard right now. 😥

I have always admired Mr. Bruce's work because of his music, his voice and in a way a comfort to many people's souls. THANK YOU VERY MUCH from a fan who admires his work.
I met Bruce in the 1970’s. Almost worked for him. Last time I had a few drinks with him was in 1984. Great guy.
However we are, many of us who knew him are saddened that he supports Democrats like Biden.
This tragedy has a much better chance to occur again as the Biden administration has miscalculated this group, they’re vicious liars.
My old roommate, a retired Marine Lt.Col. got a taste of what this enemy is capable of.
Biden needs to learn it and Bruce has to learn that the New Democrat Party is not the Democrat Party of years past.

Watching this for the first time in December 2022. The memories of that terrible time come back in the blink of an eye. We lost a cousin, Paul Beyer, who was in the second (North) tower when it collapsed. He was on the job with the FDNY, heading up the stairs to fight the fire and rescue civilians on the upper floors. Total devotion to duty. Thank you Bruce, for this.

I grew up on the greatest songwriters of classic rock--Dylan, The Band, McCartney and all the rest. Even though "Born in the USA" gets a ton of radio airplay, I was very, very late coming to basically all of Bruce's work. I don't know why. It's always been just as good, just as profoundly important and beautiful as it is today. I think there's always been a singular mix of sadness, weariness, longing, and ultimately hope in it. I don't think I was wise enough as a young man to know how beautiful his songs are. I didn't have the depth myself to appreciate just how deep they go. I don't think I knew enough about love to hear the love in them. I don't think I'd suffered enough loss as a young man to feel how they comfort us in our loss. I hadn't fought enough depression in my teens yet to hear him fighting with and overcoming his own depression in every line.
My life has been full of very talented people writing, singing, and strumming. But I wasn't a full enough human being in my youth to fully appreciate that Bruce is one of the very best of them who ever lived, for reasons that are maybe too complicated even now for me to fully articulate. Thanks for waiting around so long for me to discover you, Bruce. Thank you for continuing to bring us this force we need in our lives, and for writing songs that fill the holes we didn't even know we needed filled.

I first became a fan 40+ years ago in college and with all the great music since, he’s still my favorite. If anything, he’s become more open and humane over the years. I miss the young Bruce with all the swagger of youth, but this Bruce, this older man who has seen life for what it is and is still this beautiful human being, this Bruce gives me faith in humanity.

Hard to believe it’s been 20 years. Still hard believe it could even happen. Still keep the victims and their families and friends in my thoughts, especially the firefighters and police that sacrificed their lives to help others.
