My experience with Plexiglas or Acrylic panels is you must always tape a band wider than your jig saw to keep nibs from scratching the material. Use a metal blade with a medium tooth so it sheds the cuttings. Use a variable speed saw and clamp the sheet down to keep it from dancing up and down with the blade action.
So much is happening with the shop! This car is rad for sure! I really enjoy when you guys are out talking with people like the 95 y/o who owned the suburban. Kisses to Fina! Like watching Doug and Nate work too. Also try to catch Jims videos when I can...If he gets his lights figured out he can stop scratching the new paint...Cheers!
I love the headlights. Perfect look for the front end. I think they really make the look pop. The breather is too tall and plain. It maybe would look better lower profile or maybe higher, with one of those 3 red flap aluminum breathers. Love the flathead too. This is turning into a nice little rod! Please get glass for the windows, at least the front window.
I think it would have looked better to reattach the bottom of the grill after getting it cut down to size. You could have welded plate metal vertically from the front cross member and just inside both sides of the grill to support your grill there and at the bottom. The vertical plate steel then would have given you a robust mounting point for your headlights. The grill would have still looked complete and not looking like a raggedy sawed off mess. Just my opinion of course.
From the Netherlands, love to look and enjoy what i see. It all is some kind off beautifull workmanshift... all the total team.chad, Joline, Doug and Nate..
The only thing I don't like about this build honestly is how high the engine is and the funky angle of the driveshaft to the rear end differential that's really not the best angle and can cause problems down the road other then that this thing has been a cool build so far
At the risk of being labeled a hater, I cannot understand what he was trying to accomplish by mounting the engine so high in the frame, just a 4" drop would have certainly helped avoid a lot of problems. Those u joints are going to be under a lot of stress at that angle.
Car without legal document (car registration card)could be rework and put on road for use. That I observed the practice in Canada. Very lucky . In Malaysia if car document is missing and rightful owner has passed away or cant trace the owner the car will be scraped as scrap metal tq
Enjoyed yesterdays vid as much as this one with the update on the 50's interior going in, remember that build the real haters said would never drive even though it came ready to run & stop!! Then some folks said Chad was invading Floyd's privacy filming him as he started the interior, those types who will comment that the properties grass needs cutting just to feel good for a bit on their sofa.........The HILTZ crew should get paided for some kind of thanks so your partners do no to have to suffer & pay for therapy.
Just want to say hi to Jolene and everyone and Chad you Nathan and Doug will figure everything out and do it right. Hope you all are having a blessed day. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Benefit of plexi is you can polish any scratch right back out of that bad boy, I cut plexi, lexan, acrylic with a 3” cutoff tool meant for anything really it’s like a mini circular saw and it’s handy as hell , rotozip is too messy and big teeth with light push helps a lot . You can cut that shit with a circular saw and sand the rounds out quick
Chad if cutting plexiglass with a jigsaw use a metal cutting blade not the wood blade your using. It’s less aggressive and does not melt the plexiglass anywhere near as quickly. But better still use a dremil with the plastic cutting wheel. It’s like a knife through butter. GREAT JOB GUYS LOOKING AMAZING.
Hey all! Front end is looking kool and I like the lights. Nice to see Fina girl getting some loving(Way to go Nate). Good job Doug and as alway's cute Jolene on the cam! hagd!
Where the straight brace across the back of grille is that you want to attach the headlights to you can put in a v piece that follows the back of the grille.
You do amazing work Chad. And you are an awesome designer. And we really Love all the car's you build and Design Chad. And we really hope all of you would come back to TV again Chad. With the way you have the cooling system hooked up you may want to use a temp gauge on each bank to insure the left bank isn't overheating, or at least put the temp on the left bank if you only use 1 because my fear is the left bank will starve for coolant.
Just wondering why not just cut that original gear stick horizontally through the long part of the lower bend then spin the stick 180 degrees and weld it back on so the bend is revers and to the rear. cutting along the flat horizontal part should give more weld area for strength. this may not work its just what I would probably try first. ( remove stick to do this)
Absolutly love every part of this car except for the size of console and those crappy lil coil springs in the rear suspension. Outside of the rear springs you guys did a good job on rear suspension.
I enjoy watching the creativity with all builds. I love the look of this build for its end purpose. I can’t wait to see more work on other Bugatti sitting outside shop. Hoping to see future work on Plymouth car/truck, Cabover & Elvis also.
I seen your video thursday trying to figure out the radiator and grill my advice is to mount a resivor under the grill and to the radiator you can use plastic or metal filling tubes one from the bottom and one on top find a rubber plug that you can mount to the tube at the bottom of the resivor and and push the resior mounted to the grill down into the radiator the other end of the tube from the top you can make shift a radiator cap hope this will help have fun

you should have notched the grille on the side and slid it 0n the front of the frame so you can use the whole grille. Lot cleaner look and could get that lean you wanted

I'm blown away by the transformation! This vintage car looks absolutely stunning after the restoration.
I really like to watch the whole team going at it, they get along very well and it seems like they are all lovin what they're doin
Hey Chad and crew, Chad Bosh makes a jig saw blade especially made for cutting plexiglass,I bought mine at Home Hardware in Ontario
Doug, just remember and think, Chad use to do all that stuff your doing by himself for years. Ur a worthy helper !

Dude, the build is moving along. I truly admire your talent. Your friends and co workers make a great combination to work with.
Harry from NFLD, I enjoy watching this build ,the boy’s are great at what they do.keep them in line Joelene!
I personally prefer the original front end radiator shroud !
I'd leave the grill on an angle. It matches the body line on the front of the cab. Personal opinion only...

Use a cutoff disc on a small Dremel tool and you can cut a windshieid out in 3 or 4 minutes.

Doug had lots of fun cutting the plexiglass today. Nate is good at making things work out and functional. The grill is coming along also.
When cutting perspex with a jigsaw, always use a metal cutting blade.
One heck of a crew they can do it all, great build
Chad you seem to forget that you need room between the grille and the radiator for the thermofan.
He can't think mote then one step ahead .. that's why he didn't channel it when he realized the eng. Was to high ..
Electric fans get mounted on the back side of the radiator. Order a new radiator with pre mounted fans and I’ll bet you they come mounted on the back

Happy Thursday Bad Chad Nation
if you keep pushing the radiator cover back towards the radiator, where will the electric fans fit???
Every electric fan on radiators I’ve ordered come with the fans mounted on the back side not the front
On the inside!
I thought you were putting an electric fan in front of radiator
If you slope the radiator back to be parallel with that firewall seam body line, it gives the car a more '34 look.

Hey, guys use oil on the Plexi and use the finest tooth blades! It'll cut like butter!
That view from the front with the grill and lights is bad ass!!!
Chad, ya have a remarkable group of guys working with ya.
i would not have thought of the air hose on the jig saw. good idea.
Yeah I think the radiator grill leaning against the wall is ten million times better looking than the one you're trying to put in there. Oh yeah.
