My buddy owns a fruit tree nursery and finally got some of our local counties to plant fruit and berries in public parks for the general public. Win for food security!

Great video. I needed this video several years ago.
When I was a teenager and we had moved into a new place, my dad wanted to plant some apple trees. He came home and said I would never dream of being told I could not just get one but need two for it to polite. It really confused him. He kept saying these are trees. LOL! This was over 46 years ago. Years later, he planted fruit trees and got to enjoy his fruit.

I listened to this podcast today on Apple podcasts - very informative interview. Then found myself doing a deep dive into three more of Susan's other podcasts, including the one you did with her. Very informative way to spend the time while driving to the folks place and back.

Very enjoyable & educational 👍. I’m in nw Nevada desert with nothing but sand. So I have to amend before I plant Anything 😣 The sand is alkaline so I do as much reading as I can find & it all says…
AMEND AMEND AMEND, which I do . And on top of all that we have strong winds💨.
I didn’t realize that pruning had such an important impact on trees tho. I planted 3 elderberry trees about 3 yrs ago… one died & two are doing great. I just pruned them this January & hopefully will get a decent crop.
Been struggling here for 18 yrs so I got some good tips.
Thank you & have a great day 🍏🍑🍐🍊

I had a 40ft ornamental pear tree that we had to remove 6 years ago to protect our home. We had the trunk ground. There are still big roots in the ground that love to grow mushrooms. How far from the root ball do we need before we can plant more trees?

Well, how timely is this?! My husband and I are planning to put in some dwarf fruit trees. We are getting older, and getting on ladders to prune trees is not a good idea!😂 I have been puzzling over this for a few weeks, because I want a variety Susan's tips will help a lot! Thank you, Melissa!

I have a decent sized yard. Unfortunately I can't grow anything that grows too tall, because of powerlines. There used to be trees everywhere. My sewer system area in my yard is cleared. The system placement makes it hard to have anything with a large root system. (A lot of the neighbors fight w having to have roto rooter out due to tree roots.)I'm not sure I am able to have any fruit trees. Are there pot sized(large raised bed/container?) trees? At some point I want to add some fruit bushes. I've only been here a year. There was an abundance of honeysuckle. Cleared a bunch out last year. Will work on it more this year. I figure it will be a couple years before I plan on planting anything.
