See Isaiah 53:STRIPES for the CONTEXT: In the original biblical manuscript, "griefs" is literally "sicknesses" and "sorrows" is literally "pains".See Young's literal translation etc. See also Matthew 8: 16,17 for the Apostle Matthew's inspired Commentary. Thus BOTH sins AND sicknesse are dealt with BY THE STRIPES of Jesus and NOT JUST SIN OR INIQUITIES.
