- At One Time, "Jefferson" Was The Lead Singer Of The UK Group "The Rockin' Berries". Eventually, He Left For A Solo Career And Had Two Songs That Charted In The United States. They Are "The Colour Of My Love" And This Big Production Called "Baby Take Me In Your Arms". Feast Your Ears On Some Real Instruments.......British Brass, Strings And Percussion Plus The Powerful Voice Of "Jefferson". This 2 1/2 Minute Gem Made It Up To #23 On The American "Hot 100" In Late 1969 And Into Early 1970. Hear it on my internet radio stations www.kvkvi.com and www.groovyradio.us
One of the greatest 60's songs of all time.
ANOTHER OF THE ALL TIME GREATS AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED....LOVE ALL YOUR OLDIES.
The Canadian powerhouse playing a memory-making gem from a fabulous year.
For some reason, I woke up this morning and this song was in my head..so happy to find this posting. I grew up in Detroit in the 60's listening to CKLW!

Yes, CLKW, WKNR (Keener 13) and a transistor radio.
LOVE the intro! It places the song in a time and a place. Thanks for the time travel! Always loved this song - first class production and amazing vocals.
One of the last with the 60's sound. Groovy man
CKLW - Windsor/Detroit radio! WOW! I haven't thought of those call letters in years. Great song. Thanks once again Musicmike!
Surely one can hear this song on the radio today BUT.............. Radio doesn't sound like this anymore, I mean in these channel you still have that 60's - 70's groove, MusicMike knows what to do!

The intro is awesome! Late 69 early 70 The Best of The Best!
Great song.............man !!
Ahhh, late 1969 early 1970,I recall it fondly. Pure magic.
I remember this well. Sounds tailor-made for Gary Puckett.
AMEN!
Sounds exactly like a song that would be written for Puckett. This guy had a great sound though.
Takes me right back to late '69 and sixth grade....loved it then and love it now
Great song! Thanks for posting this. You do a great job Mike!!
Thanks Music Mike, a great lost song! Really thought this Gary Puckett, he would have done this great but too bad that Jefferson did not make it farther. He had the pipes. Classic!!
Music Mike you are a dude man you know how to bring back those old memories such as this song by Jefferson thanks music Mike I dig the music and I dig you too man
This song was out when I first met my Wife. I Love the Song and my My Wife
Thanks for sharing this little masterpiece - shamefully not even a minor hit over here in the UK...lovely tune , innocent times.
Terry Knight, Tommy Shannon and his "Bearskin Rug Music" show. So many legendary jocks, so many great memories for all of us who grew up in the 60's listening to CK either in Windsor or the -- uh -- picturesque, quaint, charming little American border town on the other side of the river from it.
Background to my good ole days of school. Great Jefferson!

Fantastic Song Mike Thanks For Posting
I had two different girlfriends who told me this, was their favorite song...30 years, apart!
My first device I listened to this music was a one speaker about as small as a cell phone but it was in mono of course
Excellent sound. A classic penned by Tony Macaulay -John Macleod and arranged by the amazing "Uncle" Lew Warburton.
His real name is Geoff Turton and if you like his voice listen to him singing lead with the Rockin Berries on a song called Poor mans son.
CKLW would never go from a top of the hour/bottom of the hour jingle ID into a cold open, with no place to talk. Somebody call Bill Hennes or Bill Drake! LOL
Mike you have a Radio voice.. You should definately do Radio.....
I can picture Gary Puckett doing this song.
I used to think this was Richard Dawson singing
Great song bad sound.
This one´s for you sweet Roxana Oviedo
Didn't "Montage" also chart?
