I just settled on a DN12 based on your reviews becouse it is the most close to the old Klipsch dual 10inch passive radiator kind. My experience with ducted design is that they blend well in a hatchback trunk. In a room you will listen to the chuffing from the ports, despite the strong low frequency, they lack accuracy and speed attack on music. The passive radiator design has the precison and speed attack of the sealed with a low extension more similar to a ducted, it stays in the middle of both designs capturing most of the advantage of both design and minimizing the disadvantages of both. As he sayd only downside use to be the price, not anymore… we have the Definitive Descend sw
@eugene4637 I love my set they hit hard , my whole house is coming apart. it also blends in so well with the mains it gives a good tactile response as well
I like the fact that you did a comparison I’m on all these sub, but this is an unfair comparison because not all subs are in the same location. For future comparisons I suggest you to compare them while being in the same location.
Loving the channel Morne! Is there any chance you could do a center speaker shootout? I am looking for something that is a bit less veiled and more forward(maybe brighter?) than the Bentley FC150 I currently have. Extremely happy with the FS120, FR100 and SVS SB2000 pairing on the rest of my system. Had my eye on the Bentley FC250 or the Klipsch 404C but haven't had them demod yet :-(
@@84Prich o its huge, greater sound stage and more oemph. But only if the room allows. We had them in a small room and they where to big. So if you have the spare money and a big room do it. I put my 9060 as rears and 9080 as fronts with a 9060 center
@@homecinemaking397 I don't believe that is true at all as Australia received the DN15 & we have the same Mains Voltage 220-240V 50Hz as South Africa, I think it's bizarre that Sound United Europe only released the DN8 & DN12 in Europe & they are a very big market, it seems only the USA, Australia, New Zealand & select Asian countries received the DN15 :(
@@homecinemaking397 Yeah it is a shame, I'm assuming you meant the DN15 as you typed DN12, who is the South African distributor for Definitive Technology, is it Sound United like it is for Australia?
I don't think so, it is woefully inadequate compared to its competitor. It bottoms out quite fast and struggles in the lower end. And this is from a guy that used to own dual F12s.....I would rather the SVS Pb1K Pro anyday.

Yes a few have asked for this, will do it next.
Are you going to review a Definitive Technology Descend DN15 any time soon and are going to receive them in SA?
I really want to but it does not look like we are getting. I will raise the question again.
Heard the Definitive 9080 floorstanders and was blown away! Would love you to review on those vs say other simliar floorstanders.
I had the 9080 and still have the 9060. Honestly some of the best speaker you can have in my opinion.
@@homecinemaking397 how much different in sound 9080 vs 9060? Reason being I won't use upfiring atmos on 9080s

Thanks for doing the work! i have to ask, if the SPL was only $8500 rand, which would you buy?
I love them and use two myself so i would always recommend them for movie👌
Any update on the Defftech DN15?
Wonder what reason is for not getting it?
Apparently the power supply is US only so we cant get it.
