Yup, happened to me someone was reporting my listings even though I wasn't doing anything wrong I would talk to eBay but they weren't much help eventually they permanently suspended my account luckily I have a backup account but haven't really got back into it
This is why I have decided to never publicly list my store. If someone doesn't like you then they can make your life miserable.
Unfortunatly with being a youtube personality and showing your items anyone can backtrace to your store even if you never disclose it. Ebay just needs a way to do a human dispute since this is a real issue.

I agree! You might consider changing your EB store name and never give it out. You can use your old name (or similar) and just list a few key items on a small, free EBay account. I’ve noticed several other RUclipsr’s doing this. It only takes a couple complaints to give you headaches. There are many spoilsports out there. Good luck and keep fighting the good fight, Kevin. You would be a great spokesman for ‘the consumer,’ as well as the resellers!

Under every platforms TOS you can't unionize or its grounds for account termination are you willing to risk your account sorry I'm not what really needs to happen are selkers around the world really need to unite against all platforms save up for the next few months the jan we pick a week and put all the platforms we sell on on vacation mode hit these platforms where it only counts in there pockets then when they lose a week's worth of revenue from sellers fees then they will listen to us but only then BOYCOTT is the only way to get these platforms to listen go look at what the UK etsy resellers did via BOYCOTTING (Google it)

IMHO, this is the best video you have ever done. Resellers must find a way to partner or fight to enjoy our rights to do what we do. I think resellers need an advocacy group that can speak to the platforms and politicians to protect our industry. Thx for this vid!
There you go and advocy group that might work to get around the no unionization under most reselling platforms TOS if you unionize its grounds for account termination but if we have an advocy group speak on behalf of resllers like the ACLU or other groups like that now that's a great idea

The biggest issue with relisting the matches is that it doesnt really matter what the people said on the phone, you can get another strike on it again. Ebay doesnt communicate even with itself and as a 20+ year seller on EBAY its pretty terrifying you can get banned for life in a heart beat. I have thought about quiting and going full time many times but the threat of EBAY randomly banning me out of nowhere makes me stay at my job.
Etsy did that to me, 15 years ago. Etsy is a $h|£ site, anyway! 😂
Amazon does the same thing these 2 companies have been doing this for decades it really is like walking on eggshels another reason to diversify so your not beholden to any one platform I thank go I diversified 25 years ago when I went full time in 1998 I started on the big 3 at that time ebay Amazon and yahoo auctions now 25 years later I'm on 10 platforms plus face to face sales via FB marketplace, Craigslist, flea markets and shows and also have my own website (creatredin 2000) diversification is the way

I agree with you about the government regulations. None of these laws are ever passed with the concern of the little guy in mind, no matter how subversively they try and rationalize the concepts. More and more there seems to be a concerted attack on small business owners of all sorts, especially over in Canada in the name of "climate regulations". So it usually does come in a slow creep.
You bring up a good point about shoplifting basically becoming decriminalized. It's almost a form of anarcho-tyranny where all the rights and concerns go to the criminal while the government takes the boot to the law abiding citizens.

I’ve seen people who record the whole process of packing a jewelry item including showing the purity stamps and makers marks, because of how much people got away with chargeback scams. And once they told eBay that they’d filed a police (or FBI) report for theft, they were given the option by eBay to attach a video file. They then attached the entire video of them putting the item in the jewelry box, putting the jewelry box in the shipping box, taping it up, and addressing it. Only then did eBay honor the “seller protection”.
You have to threaten them with law enforcement I guess. They’ve already been big time sued and some of the CEO’s were jailed.
My guess as to your Ebay selling issues it's the classic bitter people with no lives who have a psychosis to make other people's lives miserable too.

Oh no, We're so sorry! We just got hit with a negative again that was completely untrue and there is NO help. It is so aggravating for all sellers. When the photos and description are clear, you offer refund and still your stuck. eBay has sure become an ocean of differentials to maneuver. I've never had a warranted neg. People leave them for such stupid things. I recently got my first one in a couple of years and it was meant for someone else. I was quick to add them to my list.

I just had a similar issue with the negative feedback. I try to list my items as thoroughly and as correctly as possible and I'm very or probably overly cautious when listing to protect myself. Someone bought vtg EXPIRED Polaroid film that clearly stated it and shown this was an open package in pictures and in the description. A month goes by and they complained because the film was expired and didn't develop correctly. Smh. It clearly stated in title and multiple times in description. Smh.
Hey man, I think it's more than likely that someone's just trolling you and going through your store, looking for things to report you on. Lame people will do this kind of thing to RUclipsrs and what not. Stupid that Ebay isn't even getting it right tho!

Preach it Kevin. We had a listing taken down for the first time a couple days. They removed a Pokémon toy because they said it was recalled, but there’s numerous still listed by other sellers. We had large lot of them and had one left which was removed. The inconsistency and not siding with sellers when justified is getting tiring.
eBay has pulled down matches on me too. They have a problem with their system. Those are not strike anywhere matches as you know already. Someone needs to treat eBay CEO like he is treating his "valued" sellers.....

eBay is unfortunately double checking your account because of the suspension, it happened to me ..after some time they will leave you alone.. it's important that you reach eBay and ask them to remove the defect if you think is not appropriate
I think eBay just doesnt want to get involved in the legal aspects of it all, so they allow corporations to bully sellers.

My boring reseller life had this happen to him a lot recently. What he noticed the similarities of the ones being taken down were items that have the logo of a brand but then the maker of the hat or item is unbranded. So he had Budweiser hats shirts that were promo items but the maker of the items were different or unbranded. It doesn’t mean they are counterfeit or fake. The new Ai system is very flawed. But it could be many reasons.
So if Budweiser put their logo on a Coleman cooler this may get taken down even if it is official merchandise from Budweiser….not just a sticker?
You might consider taking down your perfumes since you seem to be on their radar
Kevin I think they have tinkered with the bots and are trying to catch more items that are not allowed. I was trying to list a pair of goggles that were military issue. They said no. But I have sold them before but eBay now says no. I'm in VA beach so I find a lot of them.

I agree with you, totally, if they don't come together with their sellers, it WILL affect them in the long run. Someone will eventually come up with a better selling platform, and eBay will be left in the dust because of the way they treat their sellers!
Yes but the problem is not just with ebay. A bunch of way they are dealing with is new. (First Sales tax, then 1099, then Inform consumer) All of these things are huge money pits that ebay never had to deal with before.

Seller protection is a bald-faced lie; there isn't any as things stand. Add in Big Corporate and Big Law and Guilty until proven innocent and... like I said, there is no seller protection. 03:11 That writing box was gorgeous. Is the leather a replacement? Just learned the term for the leather in a writing box - a 'scrive". 20:21 I listened to Petra back in the 80s already. Bet Kevin's customers for those shirts are old GenX brats like me or their kids.
Agreed Kevin, my listings on Facebook marketplace have been flagged as well for numerous issues like selling pets when I am selling a dog crate or a restricted item like a house safe. I always fight the flagging and have won for now. I even get warnings that my account my be disabled due to marketplace behavior. The AI needs to be recalibrated
Was going to do a RUclips channel with my eBay company but after watching what is happening with you I’m definitely not doing that after all. I’m also saying that since I’ve seen multiple eBay RUclipsrs also have the same thing happen to them lately. So yes the ss gestapo ai corporate apparatus is starting to show its beast head and I beleive it’s only going to get worse for many people soon.

I've had Ebay unjustly take down a listing this week also. Strange since I had 2 items and they only took one down. There are another 19 items still listed by others. Oh well, I had been avoiding listing on other platforms but now I am rushing to get everything on other platforms.

Kevin Unplugged - this is one of my favourite videos of yours because it's raw truth spoken eloquently (I'm nowhere near as polished as a speaker). I too would like to be a part of the solution if ebay were open to it - they really need to start actually listening to us sellers. I just want to resell and when I feel like that is being threatened unjustly my claws come out, especially when 98% of resellers are good honest people but punishments can be levied that don't suite the perceived crime. I kinda owe you an apology as I used to think you had some sort of deal with ebay months back when some of your videos seemed like public announcements when there was clearly something going on behind the scenes. And if these timeouts, counterfeit claims and payment holds without any explanation can happen to you then can happen to anyone which is why every sellers needs to pay attention to what is going on, voice their opinion that can create change that is win win for ebay, buyers and sellers. I’ve recently had an issue with eBay over a buyer making a false claim where they broke the item and when I told eBay I could send them proof they said they can’t take it and just refunded the buyer the 326 dollars. I asked what they do to protect the sellers and they had no answer. I then asked them what stops a person from buying a 1000 dollar video like Rule of Rose on ps2 getting the item and putting a damaged copy of the game in the case and saying it was damaged when received and sending it back. They said there is no protection for that happening and they can’t side with the buyer or seller yet they do side with the buyer and the seller is now out 1000 dollars. It’s just crazy eBay doesn’t wanna really protect the sellers who make eBay because with sellers there is no eBay. I really hope you get this fixed and they start to actually do their jobs and investigate these matters.
I also love selling on eBay. I sure hope they create a solution that protects sellers from unfair snd unnecessary suspensions.

I agree completely. Just look at resellers picking up pallets with returns that are broken or not the same item. My wife bought a air fryer and in it was a goodwill air fryer not the same item. How can this happen? Thats stealing yet target takes it back no questions asked. Stealing is so common now so i guess we have no more morals anymore as a society.

If I am banned for listing a vest and matches then eBay has a lot more problems then anybody knows
I sold 300k on Amazon and on my first offense, got permanently deactivated. They flagged an item that I had listed, but never sold a single unit of as "mislabeled brand name", it was misspelled by 1 letter. After countless calls and appeals, I gave up. It cost me $9000 for Amazon to ship my items from their warehouses back to me. Worst experience of my life.

The folks that work at eBay are like refs....if you expect perfection, you will be thoroughly disappointed. It is random enforcement....many times inaccurate!
Wow, just wow. I absolutely miss the golden days of my first sales in the early 2000s. EBay provided the website as the host and took a fair commission. The seller provided items and customer service. Today eBay is the corporate micro manager of your sales gig, sets the rules, invokes terms, and is the judge dictator passing judgement ultimately deciding whether you get to continue with them. Need guidance or have a situation? eBay intentionally makes it hard to reach any service representative of value.
Craigslist is ancient but fortunately my items fit pretty well into their platform. I am 50/50 on my ebay / Craigslist sales now and successfully growing my CL efforts. Years ago it was 99/1 in favor of eBay. Next year I'm shooting for 75 of my sales as I back out of eBay.
By the way- I'm a 26 year eBay seller as well as working for a defense contractor (part of the military industrial complex) and believe me, I'm Not proud of that fact whatsoever and the more I learn about what our government does to "We The People" and people throughout this world is enough to make Anybody Frickin' Puke!!!
I had an item that was taken down. However, I had it listed for a while. Listed it about 3-4 months ago. Did a sell similar and it got taken down. About 2-3 weeks ago. Weird. Said it was for chemical reasons but it's from the 1930's and it's empty. Go figure.
Places are filled with inexperienced workers who have a god complex, or everyone is working short staffed. I’m sick of working for and with these kinds of people. No logic. No idea of real life. Thankfully this didn’t cost you like the last episodes. I had an episode happen in 2010 where they took off ALL my items. For good. I never was able to recover. I quit. I didn’t start up again for ten years. Now I find that sales are just plain slow.
I think you’re on eBay’s radar. Or, just like promoted sellings, you’ve been bumped up toward the top of appearances. In this instance, eBay probably randomly checks for this and that. You’ve been dinged and now you’re a hot commodity. My guess is it started with a disgruntled buyer and/or viewer. It’s a tough break. I’m sure this should blow over, but sucks while it’s going on.

Someone's reporting you for sure. I seen people hating on resalers who do RUclips on Reddit and they sounded so bitter. Some said they noticed some don't put their stores name in their video description. Or anywhere on their media (some said to hide they don't make as much/they sound so bitter always) - Another I thought was probably solid was the one who said because people who are just mad at them will report an attack them. Sounds like someone is jealous and on the hunt for you to me. At least it doesn't sound like you are as targeted or hated as hairy tornado on Reddit they literally trash him a ton thru out. You, Sir, have been flagged....I know, because I have been flagged several times in the past and it is a pain. You have to cross every "T" and dot every "I" and then look over your shoulder a few times, and hope you didn't violate even the slightest or smallest policy or you will be suspended for weeks. I have even been told that I have to take a picture of the inside of the empty box (greenie stick'em caps display case boxes) ...and they still took them down and suspended me. I have been a seller since 1997...I call them at least once a week...sometimes more...good luck

Its called Arbitration , we sign away our legal rights the moment we agree to any T.O.S that all big corporations now legally hide behind. Who actually reads the T.O.S ? and understands that arbitration strips you of your legal constitutional rights. I get your point but its a losing battle you would never win. It's a business. Many people like you are doing this to make a living or partial living. I myself found out that you can have 100% or near perfect feedback and you get suspended. Also, if you get strikes against you if your a smaller seller it takes a YEAR for them to go away. Of course if your suspended they don't not charge you for your store! LOL. They don't care if they destroy you. They don't care about you at all. It used to be they backed the sellers now it's like Credit Card Companies. They always side with the customer not the dealer. I had a repair for shop for years have a 90 day warranty and a year later I'd get charge backs and I can give all the evidence including customers signing that yes they had my 90 day warranty and still never one any of those because they want the customers interest me well just eat it. With you it's the same they can beat you close you cost you money, oh gee deal with it.
Yes, and if your a small seller you fall below their standards and as you said no appeal. You can't do anything. And again if your small takes a year for that strike to go away. So get two more (if your small) even if your right, ooops to bad your gone. Oh in 8 months one will drop off just do things in the future more carefully LOLOLOLOL

They did it to me too on Friday. Holding funds. I had a sculpture break in shipping and they guy went berserk. I sold a big ticket jewelry item and had to cancel the item because buyers address was a PO. And someone made a mistake purchasing and wanted to cancel. So ebay has my funds on hold but I can still sell. Well I’m not going to sell while they “review” my account. I put my store on vacation while they decide to figure this out. Whenever I call there, the people are incredibly helpful and kind. I do have a question, didn’t you just say your store was in a review for like 8 days? Shouldn’t something have come up then about any product that violated something? I agree and thank you for your pursuing making this platform better. God bless!
This reminds me of a NIKON camera lens I was trying to sell. Ebay took it down and told me the reason was because I offered shipping to Europe. They said I could relist it as long as I did not offer to ship it to Europe. Apparently I do not have the rights to sell it in Europe, but it is OK within USA.
At this point I believe someone holds some kind of grudge against you and this person is complaining about you. This is such crappy luck
Thats why i sell on MP. I think because you’re on youtube, someone is jealous and reporting you to ebay. Ebay dont take care of good buyers like yourself and thats one reason i dont sell on them. Shame on EBAY for not taking care of buyers😡
You are right on with this, Kevin! It seems as if the good guys who are doing our best to follow the rules continue to be the ones who are punished! Thankful you got your listing back. My 11th grader and I are doing a curriculum this year on the US Constitution and Constitutional Law, and it has already been very eye-opening as to what has been happening.

Ebay pulled my moth bars, and said that i needed the EPA number to relist (others didn't list it). Fine.. my mistake. An hour later and they improperly pulled it again. Several calls later and i finally get them to see....i did it perfectly (not a seller to understand the process).
They said they would get it submitted for me to relist, and to wait for notification to relist. Not a peep
I'm almost certain you have a troll trying to cripple your business and it's so wrong! People should spend the time doing something productive instead of trying to hurt someone else because they're jealous of your success!
Ahhh good news on the matches but did you get an apology for THEIR mistake ??? i didn't !!! took 7 days to sort out a fake counterfeit allegation which was eventually sorted out in 1 day but the point is i had 7 days of complete nonsense and disrespect and rudeness from all the other reps that went before
eBay took down 3 of my jewelry listings. - they claimed the listings didn’t comply with their fine jewelry policy
All 3 items were made from precious metals silver and gold.
The stones were CZ and that was their claim that is what fashion jewelry
I read their policy and the listings were compliant
The bots will ruin the small sellers

I just got a vero email for selling a cpap device like 6 months ago telling me my listing was taken down. I didn't have anything currently listed. Not sure what ebay's deal is lately.
Why do you so much trouble on eBay in the states especially regards to reselling of major corporate company items? I don’t have this issue over here in the UK

I am done with Ebay and their actions. I since started selling on Bonanza platform. Looking for other alternative to ebay stores due to things going on.
I had my hurricane sales 5 packages. Never that many at one time. And our tiny post office was closed we had no power. Had no internet had to take printer 30 minutes away to get internet to print labels. Baha.
Kevin: I left a message about ebay taking down 1/2 of my inventory, but also the day after we have someone who was watching an item that was taken down and wanted to if there was a way she coulsd buy it. Well before we could discuss it ebay sent her a message telling her why she shouldn't buy it. Well the way I looked at it was the item is mine, they took it down , why are they trolling my account. If I wanted to sell it why can't I? Yes we're treated like criminals.
Im currently dealing with Ebay w/ ongoing issue. I list an item, a few weeks they say its a forbidden item, I file an appeal, they say sorry, they made a mistake, and they allow me to relist the item, then after a few more weeks, they remove the same item again saying its against ebay policy. I feel another appeal, then Im allowed to relist, Now they removed it again a few days ago, Now Im on my 3rd appeal....ugh
I had ebay remove some steel snap style mouse traps I had listed because they did not follow the "hazardous materials policy," and did not have an EPA number listed. I called and explained that the EPA does not regulate snap traps and therefore there isn't a number- the rep I had couldn't understand the issue and was of no help.
You do realize that drug people use the matchbook strikers to make crystal methamphetamine. They somehow can extract a chemical needed to create the drug, from match strikers (not the match itself but the strike part). I don't remember where I heard this from but it could very likely be the real concern ebay has. I believe the chemical is called phosphoric acid or something close to that name.
If that were the case there wouldn’t be 400,000 listings
@commonwealthflipper it takes cases of match books, not just one book at a time. It probably would not be a problem for people selling 1 or 5 small matchbooks, but boxes and cases sold in one listing or lot could be a real concern. Look it up on google ... matchbooks in bulk are a problem.

My boring reseller life just made a video saying he keeps getting items taken down incorrectly. Ebay says they are counterfeit when they aren't.
