Like with Heimerdinger seeing the undercity and hinting at an arc there, I expect we might see something similar for Singed, probably the two coming into (verbal) conflict again, but with him maintaining an advisory role and a monster-maker. Of all the examples I can think of in fiction, Despicable Me is the first one, Singed would be better in the role of Dr. Nefario, not Gru.
Well you have to remember that those voice lines are like 10 years old XD. Plus his voice in game is much more based on the old lore (obviously). Rather than the more interesting character he is in the current lore.
@@Sechwicky Yep,I also like how his Slavic accent is way less stereotypical and region-specific than Viktor`s(What makes it all the more impressive is Brett Tucker, his VA is an Aussie IRL, "Arcane" is one of the few examples of VAs putting on accents that aren`t their real ones that don`t sound stereotypical or forced at all, so unlike the source material it ain`t fuckin` funny!)
His voice in game is a fairly different, but I much prefer this one over the current one that he's had for over a decade now. Hopefully they get the voice actor in Arcane to do any future voiceover updates for the game.
I dig his laugh and personality in game but his voice and presence in Arcane is still some serious ASMR. Feels like I knew someone like that when I was very young.
what i like about singed is that the man is shrouded in mystery. he performs almost inhumane experiments for unknown purposes he used to know heimerdinger and apparently lost his daughter a long time ago but none of these are ever given a reason hopefully we get some lore for him in season 2 because so far he's my favourite character
I think his story will be simple, he lost his daughter and now he is searching for a way to extend the life of a dying mortal. It is a 50/50 that he is now just obsessed with life, given he lost his daughter or that his daughter is still alive in some sort of frozen in time situation and he is looking for a way to heal her.
Yeah that's an "lovely" thing I didn't think of. Crazy how in 10 minutes I just found out 2 perspectives I didn't look at the character from. But this was a great call out though
Singed is always one step ahead of everyone. He has the tendency to say things, but it has a different meaning. "Feeding Time" refers to the mouse, not the cat. "She is dying. I'm attempting to prevent that" refers to his daughter, not the mutation. "Are you prepared to lose her?" He's not refering to Jinx losing her life here, but her mental state. "Love and Legacy are the sacrifices we make for progress." When Victor reaponds with "Jayce will understand", Singed says "Perhaps". Singed isn't refering to Victor's being able to help Jayce understand, Singed refering to these two sacrificing their love and legacies. This man is the center of everything. I would argue he technically controlled Silco too. Get the man who funds your experiments addicted to your product. The scariest part is Singed few understands the result of his actions and does it anyway. When Silco says "Real power belongs to those who will do ANYTHING to achieve it" Singed is right there like the show is trying highlight him. He doesn't care about dying if it means achieving immortality.
Since the process of "healing" is rather grotesque, as we saw; Silco would very much likely intervene to stop Jinx from suffering. Also, having lost a daughter himself, SInged knows how it feels.
He reminds of Mido from "Code Vein", except he seems more emotionally distant. He doesn't seek to control everybody like Mido does in his plans for progress. Whatever happens during the evolutionary proccess, it happens, as long as it's not stoped. That's why I respect him more than Mido. Of course I would want to come out on top, but not like a leader. It would limit the potential of evolution.
Another thing is that Singed, while his experiments can be twisted, does not gets any sort of pleasure out of them. He doesn't go out of his way to make people suffer, and if they do, he doesn't feel any positive or negative emotions about it. It's just another part of the process. Mido, meanwhile, while certainly correct about Revenants and humanity needing to evolve to combat the threat of the Aragami, is a sadistic bastard who enjoys the suffering his science inflicts. We see this in Emily and Yakumo's memory echoes, as well as with Cruz. If Mido hadn't done such torturous experiments on her, she never would have frenzied, and the Queen would never have been born.
@@kamikazelemming1552men like him shouldn't be allowed anywhere near lab coats. It surprises me someone as idiotic as him even got the job in the first place. Do you believe the next game we get will be a crossover between "Code Vein" and "God Eater" ? It's such a shame it's certainly going to be set after the third game. I would much prefer for it to be set after the second one. I also hope they give us more choices in how we want our character to behave. In my mind, I created a character arc for my protagonist (her emotional and psychological state represented through her clothes) in which she feels it's her responsibility to act like a judge of sorts for the entire species. I narrowly avoided temptation in putting an end to Eva for her powers and Karen's girlfriend for her part in the attempts at cheating the cycle of life and death. I would like to feel more morally ambiguous towards the new set of characters we're supposed to save.
So, it's kinda funny that you mention that, because there's a theory going around from within the league lore community that he's actually a character by the name of Corin Reveck, which would have massive implications for another character in League of Legends, and would also mean that a character that has seemingly existed only in name as an individual in the background to someone else's story (a champion (playable character) that came out way after League's launch) has been themselves a champion staring us right in the face since before League of Legends even came out of beta testing. Oh, and the reason it's funny you mentioned that is because, if he IS Corin Reveck, the William Afton parallel becomes... a tiny bit more creepily accurate, I'll say.
@@Rannulfus Given the current lore, it is a bit different though. I guess it comes close to "To be Beautiful", though the reasons and end result differ completely.
Singed, at least the Arcane version, is intelligent on a level beyond anyone else in the show. Heimerdinger is intelligent, but he’s too complacent. Singed has an ambition that he conceals from everyone but himself. It will be interesting to see what happens in Season 2. Sigh….
Heimerdinger isn't complacent, he's been around for so long, he knows what humans are and aren't capable of. He asks the one question Humans never ask themselves. When we invent, we ask "What can we use this for?" We never ask "What is the cost of it's use?" We don't see the use of something beyond our short lives. Heimerdinger does.
@@pob_42This is not entirely true. He never saw Jayce's potential, but Viktor did. He also can't understand nor accept how humans don't have the same luxury of time like he does and why they force themselves to do certain things because of that.

Not yet confirmed, but there is a high chance. There are quite a few hints that foreshadow it being the truth, such as Vander being referred to as a hound and a dog, but some are deeper than just that. Warwick's rework, and the cornucopia of new lore that came with it, came out about two to three years into Arcane's production, around the time the Arcane crew solidly charted out the plot of the first season, and LoL in turn stopped some of the last of their infuriating retcons and plot changes, and instead finally settled on a singular narrative for good. In-game, Warwick utters some pretty keen taunts when interacting with both Vi and Jinx despite his new backstory not containing them anywhere in it. When procced to do so in either one of their presences, he says things like, "The fear in your eyes, I've seen it before," and "Who taught you how to punch?" to Vi (the former possibly in reference to the night everything went to hell, and the latter possibly in reference to how melee fist-fighter Vander inspired Vi's fighting style), and "You were there..." and "Let me forget..." to Jinx (possibly in reference to the night her monkey bomb exploded, sealing his, Mylo, and Claggor's fates). J.B. Blanc voiced Vander in Arcane, while in League, Warick's VA is uncredited, and is almost impossible to compare to many notable VAs who could have voiced him due to the effects put into the voice itself. However, in Arcane, as Vander was in his Shimmer-mutated form, he not only makes growling and roaring noises of eerily similar bestial qualities to Warwick, but as he bellows out "Silco!" to a retreating Silco, his voice noticeably sounds a lot like Warwick. In one of Arcane's final first season episode's final scenes, we see a body hanging above Singed's head as he looks to the locket in his hands. We don't get a definitive view of the body, but as it's hanging in a position similar to LoL artwork depicting Singed's experimentation on the man who would become Warwick, and has a roughly similar (albeit, ill-defined) appearance to Vander, many comparisons have been made. Finally, the teaser they released for Arcane season 2 has LoL Warwick's 'chase' theme playing in the background as it concludes. All this being said, while LoL and Arcane are confirmed to diverge into two separate canons, they are really influencing one another constantly. For all we know, if it is indeed Vander in the Arcane canon, he'll remain possessing his name. Or maybe he won't. We won't know for sure until the next season!
He reminds me of Riku and Diz...Except I still respect and love Singed. He made a vow and went through with it. Unlike Riku, who vowed to redeem himself, but got cold feet because of hearing one or two whispers of Ansem, getting to the point of not taking the sword against the Org., and put all the pressure and guilt on Sora. And unlike DiZ, Singed was in touch with his apprentice(s), understanding the TRUE impact his experiments had. He accepted all choices and understood where they came from.
Speaking of "Code Vein"...a few comments had me regret having saved Eva. Her power seemed to mean the end of the Revenants. And Mido himself said, the Revenants have the power to consume both the world and themselves. It's already bad enough the moral sacrifices they would have to perform for their civilization. But of admiration for her singing, I was compassionate, since it seemed symbolic to me. As in, in the middle of the ruin, there can be survivors filled with beauty. But I still have that tiny doubt of "What if...?".
@@Circurose the normal subtitles didn't show this. The audiosynch on the other side( the thing that was made so blind people can experience the pictures shown rather than just what is happening) called him singed

partially, Orianna was intoxicated just like Viktor from inhaling toxins from Zaun's when she was little. Singed was from piltover at the moment and he had access to technology but not hextech as it wasnt invented yet. He had to replace every part of Orianna's body to keep her alive, and her only part that was still biological was her heart. Years later Singed's heart started to deteriorate, and Orianna sacrificed her humanity to save her father, giving her heart to Singed. Now Orianna is just clockwork (she later gets a hold on one of Jayce's crystals and puts it in The Ball which she fabricates herself) Heimerdinger kicked him out for going as far as making her 99% machine instead of letting her go

Of all the examples I can think of in fiction, Despicable Me is the first one, Singed would be better in the role of Dr. Nefario, not Gru.
He's too smart for that. Main antagonists die, but the unnamed help rarely shares their fate, especially when he's willing to help anyone
I personally think his voice in Arcane is MUCH better than the game voice
And his accent is way better than your typical mad scientist accent
Well you have to remember that those voice lines are like 10 years old XD.
Plus his voice in game is much more based on the old lore (obviously). Rather than the more interesting character he is in the current lore.
Mix mix swirl mix mix
@@Sechwicky Yep,I also like how his Slavic accent is way less stereotypical and region-specific than Viktor`s(What makes it all the more impressive is Brett Tucker, his VA is an Aussie IRL, "Arcane" is one of the few examples of VAs putting on accents that aren`t their real ones that don`t sound stereotypical or forced at all, so unlike the source material it ain`t fuckin` funny!)
i like his game voice. HUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
I love the voice
It fits his character and design.
Right!! It's so haunting lmao
I grew up with the person that voices Singed, his name is Brett Tucker. His real voice is absolutely nothing like this. It's bizarre.
How did they make the funny poison trail meme into the character that directly causes a 3rd of the conflict in this show
Meanwhile...Game Singed is a 200 IQ troll champion.
what i like about singed is that the man is shrouded in mystery. he performs almost inhumane experiments for unknown purposes he used to know heimerdinger and apparently lost his daughter a long time ago but none of these are ever given a reason hopefully we get some lore for him in season 2 because so far he's my favourite character
Singed on League: To Shake... Or not to Shake
Singed in arcane:
"I understand this must be painful...I'm afraid it will only get worse."
I love how most of the scenes that he’s in are like quite
genius
Yeah that's an "lovely" thing I didn't think of. Crazy how in 10 minutes I just found out 2 perspectives I didn't look at the character from. But this was a great call out though
He has some of my favourite lines in all of Arcane and he even has some great lines in season 2
God knows what Singed would have done if he got his hands on the hexcore
He'll save his daughter
He did get his hands on the Hexcore - in the form of Viktor. He ended up saving his daughter as a result.
Everybody is hyped at the possible Warwick connection...but nobody talks about the possible Twitch cameo!
Singed drugs Silco so Silco doesn't have to witness Jinx suffering right?
Yes.
Also likely so he doesn't interfere
Since the process of "healing" is rather grotesque, as we saw; Silco would very much likely intervene to stop Jinx from suffering. Also, having lost a daughter himself, SInged knows how it feels.
1. "This is for your own sanity", so yes
2. He knows Silco is attached and doesn't want him to crack under Jinx's suffering and interfere

That “I understand”
Hits so much harder now because of Season 2.
Probably favorite character in Arcane
Same
Hes super underrated
Social detachment is a hell of a drug ngl.
Seven minutes of pure sigma champion
Meanwhile Singed in game: "Mix Mix Swirl Mix"
@@kamikazelemming1552by the way, would Jacqueline Natla from "Tomb raider" be more of a Mido or a Singed ?
Singed as Caitlyn is the most horrifying image in the show.
I love Singed
I never player league of legends but i love his character, he remind me of William Afton
I guess it comes close to "To be Beautiful", though the reasons and end result differ completely.
the actuall lore of the game and of this show differ in details.

@pob_42 both have it's flaws. Yordle lifespan is way longer than humans thus he can think like that.
@@pob_42This is not entirely true. He never saw Jayce's potential, but Viktor did. He also can't understand nor accept how humans don't have the same luxury of time like he does and why they force themselves to do certain things because of that.
he perfectly understands, thats why we have a line from heimerdinger that goes something like this: "but how could you know? that is a burden only i carry, TIME..."
he is like a stern grandfather figure that knows better then the grandchild, he is not wrong nor right, he surley has more experience but also is stuck in the olden ways...@@dakure907
@@pob_42 i mean heimerdinger is not that old and singed seems to have found a way to stop his aging progress he litteraly didnt age since viktor was a kid perhaps he is himself centuries old
Thing with claws hanging from the ceiling at the end, possibly Vander turned into Warwick?

Shou tucker
@AMRC116 aaand she is.
I love singed so much he is so honorable and royal
He reminds me of Riku and Diz...Except I still respect and love Singed. He made a vow and went through with it.
Unlike Riku, who vowed to redeem himself, but got cold feet because of hearing one or two whispers of Ansem, getting to the point of not taking the sword against the Org., and put all the pressure and guilt on Sora.
And unlike DiZ, Singed was in touch with his apprentice(s), understanding the TRUE impact his experiments had. He accepted all choices and understood where they came from.
Imagine going through these experiments for YEARS with no respite. That is what Vander went through. Damn.

Stop speculating.
Singed in League needs a FULL make-over on his design, kit and dialogue. This guy won't be laughing while gassing people but thats what he does in League.
You aren't in touch with his playerbase. Most of the Singed playerbase loves his kit because it's a very basic kit that revolves around game mechanics rather than himself.
The Arcane Singed skin will be the optional VGU you can toggle 3:46 for players, but the quotes are loved by many. A quiet guy with silly lines.
@mantiraptor5208 nigga I main him. Im not saying remove the gas and the fling, in fact Im quite satisfied with the Wild Rift rework. He needs to be more consistent with this character in the show (because he was well written there), the Arcane skin addresses this, but still not enough.

Watch it, it's not half bad
did singed experiment with his daughter to create oriana? is that why he was kick out by heimerdinger?
partially, Orianna was intoxicated just like Viktor from inhaling toxins from Zaun's when she was little. Now Orianna is just clockwork (she later gets a hold on one of Jayce's crystals and puts it in The Ball which she fabricates herself)
