  • AS WITH ALL MY VIDEOS I TRY TO GIVE THE MOST INFORMATION IN THE LEAST AMOUNT OF TIME AS POSSIBLE SO I DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. IN THIS VIDEO I GO OVER HOW TO DISMOUNT AND MOUNT TIRES USING TIRE IRONS. YOU CAN USE TIRE IRONS TO DISMOUNT AND MOUNT ANY SIZE TIRE. I GO OVER EVERYTHING FROM BREAKING THE BEAD TO DISMOUNTING AND MOUNTING THE TIRES TO SEATING THE BEAD AND AIRING THEM UP. I ALSO GO OVER SOME OPTIONS OF WHAT TO DO IF THE TIRE IS BEING A PAIN IN THE ASS AND NOT COOPERATING EITHER COMING OFF OR GOING BACK ON.

    Thankyou for taking the time to show how important the recessed area is, I'm 66 and thought I'd try fitting my own tyres which worked out OK "after" I watched you're video... 10/10...

    Hi the best tyre fitting video I have ever watched.......your good man....thank you so much for sharing your knowledge man.
    I am in the UK.....been changing my own car and 4x4 tyres since I was 17 with just tyre irons....now 71....just for myself.
    My pal brought me 6 old wheels and asked me to help him dismount them.....they are off a big american 4x4 16inch.....20 years old....tyres look great no cracks.
    Bead braking was a sinch.....getting the first side off every tyre was easy but getting the back side of every one was a PITA.
    We gave up on the last 2 for another day.....but seeing your ways has given me new hope.
    Just never had a prob before....thinking its just that the rubber is old....we used plenty of lube.
    Nick from the UK.

      I used a circular carbide tip power saw to cut the stinking tires off. About 2 inches off the rim. Then I used a normal size cutting torch for the rest of the rubber and wire still on the rim. I wasn't going to play any games people. I wanted the rims to create a outdoor movable airtight woodstove. It takes 4 rims. 2 axles. Inch and a half inch pipe. Slide it into 2 inch pipe. The 2 inch pipe is schedule 80. It rolls inside better. 4 feet wide and 8 feet long. A lot of plate steel. Your making a firebox. Oh well I guess you know there's no tires on my rims. A lot more to do. Ok see you all.

    • @elminero49
      @elminero49 7 месяцев назад

      @@philkillen5016 You did it wrong and made a lot more work for yourself, but still you were proud enough to post it here. I struggled with my first rim. Then the rest were easy because I followed the procedure. If you own a car or motorcycle, learn to do it correctly ...or pay the big bucks at a tire shop.

    I just got the ken Tool duckbilled tire wedge hammer. These are a ton of methods for breaking the bead. I decided on the most simple, effective and least cost. I have to admit that I don't feel comfortable swinging this against a tire. I will most likely place it on the tire and hit it with a dead blow hammer. I'm also afraid to use the duckbilled hammer on a motorcycle tire because I worry it could send the rim out of true. For the motorcycle tires I will prob'ly stick with a board and a couple of C-clamps.
    If you own vehicles that use tires, its a really good idea to know how to service tires. I watched many videos on mounting tires. This is the best video by far.
