I have the same code on my 2017 chevy silverado 5.3, my problem is stabilitrack would come on (steering wheel would be hard to turn and engine will stall). Happened twice on the road. Do you think maybe the 2 are related?
Yo bro I got the same code after replacement of engine due to a misfire on cylinder #8 when I test the circuit I have available voltage to sensor and good ground wire with pcm connection disconnect. But when I go directly to the connector to the oil pump solenoid it only show 9 volts not 12 volts. I am thinking I have a bad command ground inside pcm do you think this is possible?
So code p06dd and p06da came on on my 2016 suburban, checked oil level good changed oil sensor, changed oil ,i had a k& n oil filter and i actually changed it to a mobil oil filter this check engine light came on a week later after an oil change, but my oil leve gauge works the vehicle has no lost of power or acceleration, is this possible fluke on this solenoid or is just the pump that is starting to fail, how long would you notice this to start really failing?
Hey I have a 2015 Cadillac Escalade with the same code and I replaced the control solenoid valve code went away for 3 days came back again you think is my oil pump ? Also do you if they have an oil pressure relief valve in the oil pan?
Bro I have the same code. I changed my oil cleared out code it went away for 3600miles and then came back on. Oil level is full, my question is does the pump need to be primed up if I replace the whole unit with the valve on it.?
Priming is not necessary but you can put assembly lube inside just to be safe. I use the white assembly lube and push it through the inlet port. Or you can take off the front cover on the pump and put on some gloves and give the gears a good coating of your choice of lubricant and reinstall the cover with the already lubricated gears.
I had the same code. The psi would drop to like 17 then spike to almost 70 on acceleration. I replaced the pump and harness. 3 days later code came back on. 2014 Silverado 5.3. Anyone know what’s going on
I got a 2012 dodge challenger that I was wrestling with code p06dd for awhile!! First thing u wanna check is ur oil level because the code isn't for a part it's for "oil pressure" (meaning) something causing low pressure etc so it can be a number of things,if it was/is ur oil pump u would know n it wasn't mine, ultimately I changed almost every sensor on my engine (cuz my oil level was good n even changed that) n like u I was getting all kinds of codes, but after all that time n money spent trying to figure it out it end up being my "make up air hose" from my cold air intake (even tho I have a aftermarket afe but it still uses the factory make up air hose) to the back of my engine🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦!!,even tho it WASN'T damaged the grommet over time expands just enough to cause a vacuum leak for air n oil mixture smmfh,I put a screw band clamp on it stopped the problem n car runs like a dream!! I drove my car the whole winter in safety mode (normal driving cuz on demand power was limited),..I hope this help brother👍,.that is if u haven't already figured out yet, make sure u do these things so a shop doesn't charge u up over something so minor.
Man I’ve been having problems with my Chevy months ago I noticed my truck running sloppy and slow on acceleration,so I checked it and noticed a leak of oil from the heads so I fixed the seal and accidentally made a spark on the module on top of my battery car and lights wouldn’t turn on right , took it to be seen they told me the module needed to be replaced and found out my valve cover gasket was leaking aswell replaced it , the car ran ok for a week or two then it started running worse got a code for the oil pump replaced that, THENNN MY STUPID STARTER was failing so I changed that!!!! And now my car shuts off on hard bumps and kick right back on as it’s cruising it’ll get a stabilitrak notice right after the bumps , service brakes, service 4wd ect , it currently has the p06da code and is running rich , I just need a answer do I get rid of it before it doesn’t work completely or do I need to really look into a potential electrical issue ?
Check your grounds for stabilitrac I had my 2015 gmc sierra die on me in the middle of a intervention and in the middle of a turn making me turn wild as the steering wheel locked up into oncoming traffic. That’s what mine was . Simple and grounds
Yes the oil solenoid is bad but you have to replace the whole oil pump as an assembly because the solenoid is not sold individually. You have to drop the oil pan and remove the front cover and that will expose the oil pump.
Yes treat it like the other code it’s the same testing just different because the computer knows there’s an open circuit and so it could be wiring issue or solenoid is broken
@@denisbogran1458 need to now hook up your test light to a battery ground or alternator case and see if you have power with the key on. If not you have a blown fuse . If you have power then switch the clamp to a power and see if you get power when you turn on the engine and let it idle . Figure that out so you can figure out your next course of action
@@denisbogran1458 it’s only gonna set the check engine light if it happens more than once . I would check oil level and change your oil more often to see if that solenoid will stop sticking .

My dealer has changed my oil pump 3 times since Dec 2021 - twice in the last six weeks. Your title hinted at a cause, but didn't cover that at all
Oil pump failed on that truck it’s a common issue.

So i replaced that valve! went off for a week or two, and now its back.... what could it be now?
Was the harness replaced at the same time? The one under the timing chain cover
So is the oil solenoid valve bad? And if so how do you change it.
Yes the oil solenoid is bad but you have to replace the whole oil pump as an assembly because the solenoid is not sold individually.
You have to drop the oil pan and remove the front cover and that will expose the oil pump.
How much does this job cost? To drop oil pan and replace
