It’s in the interpretation of what you say.When you’re direct and if people can’t handle it they will think you’re being mean.Even if you aren’t intentionally being mean they will perceive it that way.

Honesty is good in friendship but your delivery shouldn’t be mean. Being always negative and mean is not healthy. I am honest with my friends but I always let them know ultimately is your life and your decision either way I will be here for you and love you regardless

Sometime honesty is confused with being mean. Sometimes you have to be mean to get the point across. Now I agree with the friend that asked her girl if she thought she was Julia Roberts. Some people believe they're more attractive than they actually are..men and women.
I say you should keep the friends who are 100 percent honest cause they'll keep you from messing up your life.

I'm that friend that gives blunt, perhaps harsh advice. For me its because I care about the person and I want them to excel and for others to see them the way I see them. Obviously, that is not how people take it though. In their opinion, it seems like they are not good enough that I am asking them to improve. Which also makes sense.
I prefer honest but not jealous friend. I think mean friends come from jealous place. As far as the comment about dating 10 for 10, I can’t agree more. People have unrealistic views on their character and appearance and go for people out of their league. I believe there is a soulmate for everyone; it’s just matter of being reasonable and pay attention to those people who pay attention to you.

Well I’m listening but in real real real daily life , when you say the truth and it doesn’t please the person, you’re a hater! Let me tell the girl in the middle that it’s different with men when it comes to looks. Women are not on the same level when it comes to looks as men. A man can be a 5 in looks, but as long as he works on his purpose, get in shape and get his money right, he can pull a dime. As a women, you have to understand that a man don’t care about your money. He wants a feminine attractive women and that’s it! Women need to hear this! You can be a CEO and if you’re not feminine and attractive as the girl who gave me the coffee at the Starbucks drive thru, I’m going home with a cup of free coffee and a dime!

Men and women is different a woman a settle for a 2 as long as he got money.
Those who seem to value their forthright ability for brute honesty is all well and good - but all too often, these people fail to recognize the way their brute honesty can come off as brazenly opinionated, overly judgmental, and even down right rude.
Those who are more civilly inclined, are often scoffed and rejected by these brutally honest types, mainly because they mistake manners for fake-ness.
Unfortunately - the brutally honest types are clearly missing the viability in their faltering unapproachability - everyone has shortcomings, the civilly inclined types can mistake brutal honesty as unsolicited rudeness. In my most brutally honest opinion - brutal honesty should never ever trump manners and kindness.

Sad truth though no one gonna look at yo butt twice if you aiming for a 10 and you a 2-8. Of course there are exceptions with having lots in common and huge sparks/chemistry etc. But if average looking/overweight fellas/girls in your area picking up supermodels on a weekly basis then good for them having a silver tongue and all that. It just definitely ain't common and encouraging a friend to aim above their weight(pardon the expression) is actually cruel
