@@MedAb8 He made the level in Mario Maker 1. Nintendo shut down the ability to upload levels to that game. Anyone uploading levels has to do it in Mario Maker 2.

I remember a year or two ago, there was this talk within the gaming community about this particular level. I recall people saying that he was on a timer because eventually one was not going to be able to upload to SMM. Looks like he got it done. Congratulations!🎉
He actually couldn't upload it legitimately in time and had to use a super complex dev route. But he still grinded to prove it was possible to beat the intended way.
It would be awesome if Nintendo recognized the accomplishment, cause hot damn that's a spicy level!

@@DIProgan It's not. What he meant was that he found a way to upload it anyways, even though he ran out of time.
He beat the level the normal way, but didn't manage to do so before they did close the upload
@@DIProgan That would be pointles... The dev in a level like this obviously has to be _easier_ than the intended route for its existence to make sense.
at 10:35 - Not only did he go in the room 4 times, but thanks to the explosions and various setups, the bombs are bouncing differently each time. This level is absurd and SO cool to see it completed.

This was a great reaction. I'm glad you only used the actual run in your video to encourage people to watch it themselves. It's good. I was so proud to see him finally complete this. It's definitely the biggest achievement in gaming history! I hope he gets to upload it still. The SMM community has a fan service for keeping online still going, similar to Wiimmfi for Mario Kart Wii!
My first thought was that hitting the axe would be cathartic and it probably was. But after a brief read of the description on Trials of Death, I thought that it must have been a bittersweet moment. He spent the past seven years doing this. There's probably a sense of finality from having beat this and maybe even a sense of loss.
He set out to make the hardest Mario Maker level in history and it'd be pretty hard to dispute that this is indeed it and probably will remain so.

That is the craziest platforming gauntlet of a level I have ever seen! Most crazy levels are designed by creators not skilled enough to clear their own levels without a dev exit. This is a true testiment to genuine mm skill period!

Thank you for this video. I’ve seen this advertised to me a few times on twitch. I saw trails of death, hardest Mario maker level, and a repeat of anywhere from the first 10 seconds to a minute of the level. Thank you for putting in perspective what that was.

First off this is insane. Full marks to Braden for doing this.
Secondly, were indicators a thing in MM1? Because I feel the only way you can clear this is if you were the creator, and even then it took him thousands of hours.
