    Hey Dan,
The reason why you saw the 4k mile option for CPH-LHR is that intra-europe flights below 650 miles (distance) are 4k on BA in off-season and 4.5k in peak-season. I fly this route 15-20 times a year and it's great value per mile.

Hey Dan great point about high departure taxes in the UK, the government really need to change it punishes frequent travellers and drives away tourism from the country great to see someone like yourself having similar problems with this. Great video as always and hope to see you in the skies.

    • @gk3092

It isnt all government taxes, a lot of it is BA surcharges.

I am from Belfast but if I drive just over a hour away down to Dublin the price drops dramatically. I got a business class flight Dublin to Doha direct for £139! And it cost fewer miles

I booked BNE-HKG businee with QF dreamliner in April with Avios. They are really hard to find, as QF are stingy for releasing seats to partner airline. Can't wait :)!

You don’t necessarily pay for all sectors individually, for example, if you fly long-haul and have a short-haul connection (Edinburgh via London to Chicago), you are only charged for the long-haul sector. Regional feeder flights onto long-haul flights are effectively free as far as additional Avios are concerned.

I have just started watching your RUclips Ch and love watching your trips and have learned a lot from your channel. I have just retired as of last year, and have a bucket list as I also have cancer. I have never traveled over seas and on my list is going to the UK as I'm a royal watcher too. It seems your channel is honest compaired to some I have watched, very imformative. I am looking for advice on which airline is the best to fly over from America. I kn ow I can't come now as Europe isn't letting in Americans due to the virus. So I'd like to travel busniess or first class as you make travel like that seem so wonderful. Which airline would you say is the best? And what time of the year is best go go to the UK?
I also like your ads as I am checking those out to see if they can help as I'm kinda old so I'd like to make sure my computer and phone are safe.
Thank you so much for your help as I am sure you are so busy..
    Best,
    Debbie Cook

Hi Dan, great video! Informative and evidenced information that can actually be of value - something that can be a little hard to come by on a YT channels. Being a BA Exec club member with Avios in the bank this has helped me learn how to best redeem them. Appreciated! Happy travelling in 2019 ✌🏼✈️

    Hi Dan,
You can often avoid the huge taxes from the US in BA First, I don't know about Business maybe it works also. You have to book through Iberia in First NYC-LHR and then Economy Blue Class to Frankfurt, Paris etc. and then the taxes are shy above 100 USD. It doesn't work with every flight for ex. Abu Dhabi or Kuwait. But for ex form Tel Aviv. In general Iberia has much lower taxes than BA, so its worth to check Iberia Plus before booking.

@@NonstopDan BA executive Club is a fraud. In 14 years I wasn't able to get not even 1 business ticket LHR to LAX with Avios. I normally fly 2 times a year on this route in Business class (very expensive) and I earned over half a million Avios, believe it or not since 2009 I wasn't able to get any business class tickets with avios! Once I tried to book LHR- LAX in premuim economy and the return in Business hoping to be able to upgrade the LHR LAX with Avios. NADA!!! It's definitely a FRAUD!!!! I swithced to Star Alliance.

well explained Dan....I was honestly thinking of messaging you asking could you do a tutorial on this ! Excellent, Dan. Thank you. Using partners and searching on one airline's site for availability on another really twists my "noodle", so this was extremely helpful. For example, a flight I'm interested in from Vienna to Boston--I search on Aeroplan, which is Air Canada's program and Air Canada is part of Star Aliiance to get business class on Swiss...Wha? :) Seems BA makes it easier than this! Videos similar to this showing how to use American's, United's, and Delta's sites to book other airlines would be helpful, although I understand that IS more challenging than BA.

Great video as always Dan, shows that points do pay. My partner and I are doing London to Toronto next may in BA first for a total of £1100 ( cheaper than 2 economy tickets!)It was a combination of 80k Avios from my BA Amex card and the 2 for 1 voucher which effectively made my partners flight free. It might be worth mentioning it in a video sometime as it’s a great saver on points.

So I know BA does a TON of codeshares, is it possible that a codeshare on the same BA flight may be even cheaper in terms of points? I know that just on the DEN-LHR route Iberia, American, and Finnair all codeshare on the BA flight on that route, and sometimes the codeshare fare is cheaper than the BA fare. Same deal with United and star alliance partners on that same route.

    • @NonstopDan

You can't book award flights on codeshare flights so that'd be British Airways regardless of who else codeshares on that route :)

Hey Dan, great video. It was really helpful. It would be great if you do an example on how to redeem miles on Star Alliance. I currently hold several lifemiles( it would be great if you review Avianca as well) and would like to use them as efficient as possible. Cheers mate

Hi Dan, My be more relevant to UK based viewers but you can also earn BA Avios via their online cash back store by clicking on their link to hundreds of online retailers in the UK. Also anyone in the UK who shops at Tescos can transfer their Tesco vouchers to BA Avios at double their value.
