Other videos show short arc length and moving the rod around the puddle. Those items are left out of the description. Are you doing a straight pull or moving around the puddle slightly?
I still have a battle scar from doing overhead welding on an I beam but the top of my welding jacket was open...lol burnt collar bone skin leaves a strong smell at the job site😢 🔥👨🏾🏭
use a larger welding rod as a check to see if the minimum running amperage for it is the same as on the machine, is 90amp actually 90amp or is it 130amp. 220 volt vs 260 volt residential services... running 1/8 7018 on some stuff in F1 at 130amp but the 3/16 7018 also runs at 130amp on the machine, unknowingly running 1/8 7018 at 180amp AC. least its not 50amps low...
damn I wish i could weld as good as welder B my welds look terrible just lumps and lumps nothing steady I tried slow and all i get is drips go a little faster and lumps nothing but slag and more lumps change the amps and it to cold have sticking rods I really suck I weld better with 7014 but i understand it's not a strong welding rod and I'm turning a 16 ft trailer into a 24ft trailer I have a new Tombstone Linkin welder any advise would be helpful thanks
Sorry to say, but those welds would never pass on Loyds exams here in europe. Weld is too fat, too much splatter, too much chopped on the edges, and those restarts are terrible.
Ok, now do the same welds laying in the mud in 30f temps working on a 1965 chevy frame with a generator running a 200 dollar welder. All these videos are best case scenarios, real welders work in the field and they make it work, do a video about that! None ofnthe videos on this channel are done in real life conditions, and they should be
@wideopenbros3196 I'm just sick of videos explaining how easy it is to.get perfect welds in a perfect environment, no one welds in a perfect environment! I live in alaska ! My environment is harsh and so are my working conditions but no one ever explains how to deal with that!
You wanna see a weld in a bad situation? I’m sure I can simulate that! Maybe not identical but I see value in what you said. Also remember these are for people learning, in a controlled space. They haven’t got thrown to the wolves yet 😂 but I hear yah
Everything I saw was too cold or too fast. Not tied in to the previous pass. Regardless, a 4f test per AWS D1.1 is just 1 pass on a bend test, must be a 1/4" fillet in one pass so you can't run 3/32. Let me know when you get that certificate.
Thanks for the refresher. Sometimes we forget to pay attention to the details. 👍
One of the best stick (or any other) welding instructionals out there, and funny as... kind of funny. Thanks welder A
I'd love to see a video on welding saddled pipe. Thick to thin. Thin being the vertical, thick being horizontal. 7018/6010
a great instructional video
Thank you!
IM STILL LAUGHING FROM WHEN YOU GOT TILTED WORKING ON THAT CARNIVAL RIDE.. LOL!!!
Lol it was pretty frustrating for sure!
Wasn’t my best moment 😂

crank it up 5-7 amps over 2f and keep the arc tight!
Let er eat ❤

Smells like beef jerky and burn body hair 😂. Someone’s gotta do it 🤷🏻♂️

My machine does run a little hot. But no more than few amps unless I run long leads
That's nice, but I wish I were anywhere close to what welder B can do.
Thanks 👍
You’re welcome!
keep practicing, you will get it.

Any way you could do a video on 4g Innershield 233, AWS structural?
I’m sure we can get to it!
@austinhargett5792 can you even run that?
Funny but true
why do you use stick and not mig?
Lots of reasons! They both have pros and cons. But you could do this with both.

Glad I don’t work in Europe 😅
@@austinhargett5792 Yes, be happy being a crappy welder.
Then post a video of you putting down welds that would pass your European standards
@@PedroMoleta my guy this guy is probably way better than u at welding kid
@@austinhargett5792AWS D1.1 is just as difficult. Do you have any certificates at all?
4F what is that
Position 4 (over head) F meaning fillet weld
@@austinhargett5792 Thanks we don’t use that terminology in Australia, well at least not when I did Certificate 3E and 7

Type of conditions i learned to do overhead, fun when havent bought a welding jacket yet.
