Cool your plate down dunk it in some water. My rule for a 4f six pass is run the root if I do a hot pass dunk it after those two then dunk every two beads but absolutely make sure you cool your t down before you run your cap. And remember your rod angle is constantly changing with over head so make sure you're coming in at the right angle or else you'll get beads that are either under or overfills.
I never really considered that overhead welding its the ones that are a joint that is directly over your head not in a corner weld like that it’s a lot easier to stack or triple pass ur welds like that I just feel that not really a overhead weld because straight over your head in a joint is way harder looked good tho I just did a 4 g and it was hard
looks like you are praying? maybe not... or that stick too heavy for 1 hand? cmon dude. auto darkening helmet for education purposes and stop the swinging.
I went toTulsa Florida campus in Jax Florida don't go their, they got a teacher named Brian their who's a racist, and don't do anything to help the students! The student's help each other their, when Brian the racist is working because he don't do jack squat!!
You’re a good teacher 😁
I love the j technique brother.....iam definetly gonna use that....thanks bro
I love your videos
Current level which is best for overhead welding
That 7018 just flows. What I wanna see is the 6011 t
Estou a gostar da aula
just a question, but using a push angle instead of drag?
you never push. except when going uphill. if you push and we xray it. slag inside.
I am attending RSI at the moment but having trouble with laying the 3rd bead. Do I need to go a lil slower or stay with the same speed as the 2nd.

This was the 1st video where I learned the J technique
Teacher you are a blessed, You don't tell us the amperage in the 4 F
Amps for over head should be about 120-125
@@calebjs1990 For 7018?
You obviously didn’t watch the beginning of the video.
What's up with the pushing angle? Looks like if you are making videos to teach beginners you would at least show them the proper rod angles,,,
I noticed the same thing. His hand is stationary so he goes from drag to push over the length of the weld.
I noticed that angle.
Hi, how many amps sir ?
They're saying 125-130 but that's took high for 7018 overhead that's why his beads come out chunky and inconsistent.
