they are taking the piss out of American hip hop culture and also consumerist western society - and Rhys, one of them, is a top musician with piano albums and ambient albums and other styles, as well as working on projects to help homeless, poverty, drug addicts etc, where they are from.

Yeah, it's satirises the 80s rap scene, extremely funny back catalogue of tracks.

Hahahaha, didn't think youd like this 😂😂😂
You were kinda right when you said "a group of guys just got together and f around" - I think that's exactly it. Theyve done like 10 albums and its all kinda parody of 80s rap with (what would have been) modern cultural references.
Cell to Joel because "Vanilla Ice made my mother say f" and "gun's dont kill people, rappers do, im a f'ing rapper and i might kill you" are absolutely amazing f-bombs.

Guys this is totally satire! It's completely humourous, comedic South Wales (UK) hip hop that's 100% not supposed to be taken too seriously although they definitely have some very clever and relevant lyrics (for the times the songs were released at least). They were/are just having a laugh at life in general and also gangster rap but are also singing/rapping about the absurdity of life in modern day Britain and the World and also the whole UK "chav" culture. Their songs are actually pretty clever in the way they reflect modern day society and all the shit that goes on. They definitely cover a wide range of topics in their songs, all done in a very humourous, tongue in cheek way and for that they should be applauded! 👏✌️😁🩵

Well said 👏🏻 if you think of anything British then chances are at some point GLC have made a comedy reference to it (or a whole track about it 😂).

dont think the us "get" uk hummer and the fact it is a satirical look at the rap culture of the 80s and 90s, even though the said it reminded them of 80s rap, the GLC are still touring to sold out venues and selling albums so they must be doing something right !

Not their best... Jammy Time, I Got a Van, Pusherman are three of my faves. Half Man Half Machine.
And you need to do "Adequate" - that is a brilliant song that sums them up re: their rapping.
They are a proper band, but they're proper tongue in cheeky verging on outright comedy. References to 80s culture and South Wales geography and culture and weed CONSTANTLY.
