    Am a long time user of Pallmann Magic Oil, Rubio, and Woca on wood floors.
    We are the “go-to” company in our area known for their style of finishes. We are ready to jump into Odie’s oil. Your philosophy has always been our aim, and we agree that the addition of “hardeners” to these other products seems to create a minor hypocrisy to the whole concept of “Euro Oil” finishes.
    We are enthusiastic and can’t wait to begin our samples this weekend, starting with American Cherry.
    As we educate ourselves and develop our team sales SOP, what must we know about the aftercare of wood flooring with an Odie’s finish. Of course we would agree that your specific cleaner would be a great way to go, I’ve heard that the traditional few tablespoons of vinegar to a gallon of water would be safe, etc. for the routine cleaning, but what about down the road? What sort of long term requirements should we prepare to offer and recommend? What’s the best way to tell a client about how to know when a “refresh” procedure is needed? Also, repairs; I imagine repairs are a snap, but how difficult do they become once tints and colors or layered effects become involved?
    We are in the Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho area and are about to finish 3,200sf of Am. Cherry. Client is interested in going as light as possible. Possibly even considering a bleach (an existing floor refinish that they wish to augment toward light as possible) followed by something like Rubio DC Smoke or Cornsilk, Cotton White maybe… these were our initial leanings before I became attracted to Odie’s as a possibility.
    Would it be possible for someone to team up with us on a project like this as an advisor?
    The refinish must be completed by the end of August. We will most likely commence work in the first or second week of August. We’d certainly love it if maybe you could arrive near the end and jump in with us at the fun part 😊
    Looking forward to your reply.
    (Will probably email you too…)
    All the best!

    Just ordered my first jar of Odie’s Oil, super excited to try it out on some tables and jewelry pieces. Is there any beeswax in the product? Or is it all plant based wax? I’d like to have a vegan finish option for customers. Thanks!

    Is there a wood filler you suggest using on oak hardwood floors that would work well with Odie's Dark Oil? I am worried about that the wood darkening more than the filler. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

      We don't recommend to putty much because Odie's oil is a stabilizer and will help to minimize the gapping and sometimes depending on the size might close completely (and putty will break eventually), however, if is a really need for a wood filler I would recommend the brand Woodwize

    I am going to use Odie's Oil (original clear formula) to refinish my white oak hardwood floors. I am trying to end up with a matte to satin finish. What sanding grit do you recommend I end with before finishing to achieve a matte to satin finish with Odie's Oil? Thank you :)

    • @Odiesoil
      @Odiesoil  2 года назад +3

      We do recommend sanding up to 120 grit.

    Would you recommend a power tool like a Festool Rotex or a hand held car buffer machine at the walls? I presume working by hand in corners?
    Thanks!
