I can't pin point what it is, but concert video footage from a regular news starion just like this is very precious. It is a historical document and for so many reasons. Thank you for posting this.
Wow what a cool news report. I had tickets for the canceled Providence show, 6th row. After the show got called off I had to return the tickets for Worcester tickets, only problem being was instead of having 6th row tickets I now had 2nd row from the top of the balcony. I was devastated but still a great show !!
Very well done report, it didn't just focus on the canceled Kiss show, but other aspects as to why concerts were not so profitable in the early 80's, very rare for an 80's Kiss report to not be cringe worthy, excellent piece!
When the walkman came out people didn't give a shit about records and then more genres in music like rap was going to take over the world. Video games were taking over too.
@@vexxspook5519 And boy does it suck. The only entertainment it provides is speculating who with get bumped off next. I would trash pop music is more dominant.
I caught the Rochester, NY show that same week, my first big rock concert. The War Memorial was half sold but it didn't matter, they blew the roof off that motherfucker anyway. And I was on mescaline to boot. 🔥
u can thank jimmy carter for the shitty economy then. He drove it into the ground from 1976- 1980.. Reagan then came in and got things going in the right direction, but it takes a couple/ few years to see it. KISS wouldve canceled the show in St Louis too, but all the proceeds were to be given to a local boy with cancer whose parents were poor so, the show went on.. I was at that show, and I don't care what the official number recorded was, but there was only 1,000 ppl there in that hall (Kiel Auditorium) that held 12,000. The hall was literally empty, and it was so depressing to me- and no Ace.. The Plasmatics opened for them, and a lot of ppl were there to see them- not KISS. I walked away from that show thinking this was the end of KISS. Back then bands never lasted more than 10 yrs, and this was the 10th Anniversary Tour, Creatures- Peter had left, and now Ace was gone too. It was a dark time. I was already a depressed teenager, and this just added to it.. I had seen KISS on Dynasty tour a few yrs prior as a 12 yr old, and there's no comparison. The 20,000 seat arena was full for Dynasty, and the show was full of color n excitement. The contrast was stark. So depressing
I was at this show. My first concert ever - dad and uncle took me. I was 8. What an amazing find. Thanks for posting!!
We have photos from the show, will post eventually, gotta learn how...
Can't wait to see them. Creatures of the Night was my favorite Kiss album and era.
@@thomasnee270 Will post soon, gotta learn how. Send your email, I won't send files, but will send shots of them so you can get a sense.
Same here...My first show also...And met them later at the hotel next door
I got to see that tour, too and on my birthday, besides!

the infamous 82-83 tour (several dates barely sold or canceled) was, nevertheless, the blueprint of their 83.93 tours

I had 6th Row for Worcester so I was lucky it wasn't the other way around.
My first concert also,KISS and opening act Night Ranger rocked the Centrum.I think it was the first hard rock concert there.

It was my first concert too. My Dad took me and my sister. I was 14. I think Queensrych was the opening act.
Night Ranger opened.
Queensryche opened two years later for Animalize tour
This was during KISS's low period, when a Puppet show headlined over KISS. "Tonight: Puppet Show and KISS!"
@t jendall. What are you talking about.? Puppet show.? WTF.? Tell ACE Hello.
When the walkman came out people didn't give a shit about records and then more genres in music like rap was going to take over the world. Video games were taking over too.
And rap sucks donkey balls. Thanks Aerosmith for bringing hip hop into the mainstream.
Rap has taken over the world????? Yeah right!
And same as today but now the games are crap lol!

14 million dollar state of the art facility in 1971. Fifty years later that wouldnt pay a mediocre NBA players salary for a season

Yes. I was from upstate NY too. Lots of mescaline. Almost went to the Glens Falls gig but waited for a closer show. It never happened.!! Your lucky.
Interesting as I saw my first concert at the worcester centrum in 1983 ie ozzy vs the providence civic center
wow this is killer and rare.I love your kiss videos.omg.killer
Should have got Vinnie to run the place, he has a good history of saving sinking ships.
...except for his own...
Lol
Vinnie Vincent saved Kiss. (3 sides)
Bah...he wrote some good songs,,,but he is a living disaster
The guy that gets kicked out of his own band?? 😆😆😆
In some dates of the Creaturas tour the opening act were The Plasmatics.
Thet were in Houston. I was in elementary school but my older brother was a huge Kiss fan and took me to the show
At the 1-26-83 Kiss show in Worcester MA Night Ranger opened for them, It was a great show.
How’s it doing these days?
That newscaster was a real life Ron Burgundy
That guy, Brian Rooney, is Andy Rooney's son.

Wow, what a great review! Thank you for typing it all out
Ed Rooney!
Good looking fellow.
Where's Tommy and Eric Singer????
Similar to what they did with Ace and Tommy right.
Vinnie was really talented and he brought in a harder rocking sound to Kiss (Creatures of the Night and Lick it Up) but Ace will always be Ace.
Karma is a bitch.
Vinnie was awful and almost buried Kiss
He was no Ace
@@adamrenfrow : He was a decent songwriter but he couldn’t compose medodic guitar hooks that rocked like Ace. And those hooks made Kiss.
I’m tired of Paul’s halter top shit.
@Coogan Halter Top all the way!!
I didn’t. The Elder is great.
@Coogan 1965. The best year. The release of Rubber Soul. The funny thing is I was in 80’s Rock bands so I know the look of the era.
@Coogan ‘65 pal.
@Coogan not me.
