If you have an opinion
Maybe you should shove it
Or maybe you could scream it
Might be best to keep it
To yourself
This is why
I don't leave the house
You say the coast is clear
but you won’t catch me out
Oh why?
This Is Why
Better have conviction
We want crimes of passion
Survival of the fittest
You’re either with us or you can keep it
To yourself
This is why
I don't leave the house
You say the coast is clear,
but you won’t catch me out
Oh why?
This Is Why
One step beyond your door
Might as well have been a free fall
One step beyond your door
Falling down an endless hall
One step beyond your door
Might as well have been a free fall
One step beyond your door
And I’m floating like a cannonball
This is why
I don't leave the house
You say the coast is clear,
but you won’t catch me out
Oh why?
This Is Why

@@Laura-qe8df Hehe 😇 It's a fandom celebration
Greetings from the UK! I'm so excited for this release, the timing couldn't have been better. Over the last few days i had the urge to listen to Paramore again after not listening since 2020. I'm in the paramore loophole obession of listening to every album, live show, interview and mini documentaries and out of nowhere i see they're releasing a song after 5 years! Can we give huge credit to York and Farro as well? This band has had it's ups and downs but the last record showed these three have insane chemistry!!!
No, la realidad es que paramore es Hayley Williams, le duela a quien le duela, sin ella el grupo no es nada, saludos cordiales.

@@trelvis14 no. only Hayley.
YES! The drums and the bass are actually my favorite part of the song 😅

Hayley’s energy and vocals are always unmatched! I seen them perform this two days ago and she sings it differently every time, but never overdoes it. If this album contains elements of funk (like the snipped of The News), we’re in for another treat! Can’t wait 🔥

i first known about them last year when this song was played on box music channel, and now i listen to their songs everyday
u have a lot to catach up
Welcome to a new incredible universe
They're definitely big for a reason. I grew up with paramore, I believe we're all similar ages.. I hated them in high-school, but only because I was an edgelord, I couldn't allow myself to be a part of anything "mainstream" but years later I found myself exactly where you were when writing that comment, and since then, unapologeticly enjoy tf out of Paramore
I first heard them when I randomly listened to Monster like 3 weeks ago...I NOW LOVE THEM
The thing I love about Paramore is how they always explore different genres. Like you never know what to expect from them, but we know it’ll always be amazing no matter what. And even with all the different genres, it still sounds like them, not like they’re trying to imitate other artists.
EXACTLY
This 🫶☝️
This is derivative of Talking Heads and is certainly not original, artists imitate artists, Paramore is definitely no exception.
@@mikhaeldutton9933 there’s a difference between imitation and inspiration love. Paramore were clearly inspired by other artists but they aren’t trying to imitate them.
@@mikhaeldutton9933 they didn't say they created a new style lol. they literally said they like how paramore explores different genres
I haven't seen a comment on the photography of this video and it's just INCREDIBLE. Zac's return to the band has breathed new life into the videos and the music. You can totally see and hear the 60s and 70s influence in this and it's just so well executed! I'm really excited for the new album.
Brendan Yates from Turnstile directed the vid and Ian Hurdle was the Director of Photography - both kick ass. You can check out some of the Turnstile vids for more of their collabs, like the TLC short film
Oh I see... and it's pure art
@@s__a__m5839 yeah, thank you for the references, I'll check em out for sure! Really great photography!
I thought it was another Ocean’s Eleven movie.
@@s__a__m5839 Good to know it was the same DoP. This video has a lot of "Holiday" vibes in certain shots.
Here after thick skull mv holy crap I’m so proud of you guys for closing out the era with banger visuals, creative metaphorical lyrics, a handful of grammys, and the iconic sound of an era 🗣️‼️
We are so up 2024!!!
Im so happy for them ❤
Paramore is fucking timeless. Loved them when I was a teen (still do) and now my middle school students are equally obsessed!
Literally what I was thinking. The style even in how the video is shot screams 70s to me. I can't wait to share this with my future kids!
@@marinafernandez8934Her style looks more 60's go-go than 70's.
This album still sucks though regardless. Their first 3 are total bangers and nearly flawless but whatever the fuck this shit is makes me question what music actually is. I get that all of this is relative but compare Misery Business, Decode, or The Only Exception to anything on this album and if you think it holds up try to debate me.
art is subjective @@AmariKhumalo
Timeless? Let's wait for 20 years and find out, if anybody still cares for them like people still listen to the old stuff from our parents time! You'd be surprised, as I'm pretty sure people will still know the Beatles, Stones, Queen, Led Zeppelin... But nobody will remember this plastic pop band by the name of Paramore, that made music for the spoilt juveniles of their time.
This feels like the perfect transition from After Laughter, into Hayley’s Petal’s for Armor, and then this... it feels so seamless
I love it!!
I love it too! it's like they got a bit of influence from their own albums to make this masterpiece of a song!
Yes! I agree with you!!

You can really tell she took a lot of her vocal techniques from her solo projects. Love it.
Was gonna say the same! It sounds very similar to some of her solo stuff
Was gonna say the same +1 ! The rhythm feels very Hayley, while can still tell the difference with the more Paramore flavor with Zac's 🥁
Solo stuff was bad and so is this.

Todd in the Shadows sent me here.
Paramore always failed to connect with me. I stopped listening in about 2010. I saw Todd play this and didn't know who they were. I was shocked to see it was Paramore. I went back and listened to them all and I can't say why I didn't like them before but now I'm a fan. Though this new album is far and away my favorite album they ever made.

Me too. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known Paramore made new music in 2023.
Love the chord choices in this song. Wasn't originally a fan of the way Paramore started to evolve out of their pop-punk sound, but this a very groovy catchy tune with interesting harmonic choices.
This gives major Petals For Armour vibes and I'm here for it. So happy with this new era of Paramore we're in
Sounds like cinnamon !

Who is back here after Thick Skull music video? A perfect beginning and a perfect ending of a perfect era
Yesss❤❤
For a band that didn't have a consistent bassist at this point, this song has AMAZING bass lines.
None of the touring band is original...its a made up deal always has been.
this is like a really neat synthesis of all their recent work idk like you can hear continuity with zac's halfnoise work but also after laughter and thematic similarities to hayley's solo work. maybe i sound pretentious but this is probably my favorite thing they've put out since zac came back
This is definitely it. I expect the album be a collection of Hayley, Zac and Taylor's sounds instead of one solid sound for the entire album!!
yess that's what i've been thinking as well
which years was Zac gone for
Exactly! It’s a perfect merger of all of their work. It really helps me understand the magic they make when they come together. And for anyone who hasn’t listened to halfnoise, do yourself a bigggg favor.
no for sure! Taylors guitar has little distortion but it sounds like its physically slicing the air!!! and zacs drumming is surprisingly aggressive as is hayleys vocals. but they still manage to keep it sounding like a mix of AL and hayleys solo work
This song feels like a mix of every Paramore era mixed in one, I can rest peacefully now.
Agree
A mix of all Paramore, Hayley Williams and Half noise. I like it!
Yesssss

I said the same thing. It even reminds me of half noise and Hayley’s individual projects. It feels like everything they’ve ever done really came to this.
I love how Zac evolving from the heavy hitter drummer to groovy funky drumer. Dude is so versatile 👏
grammy winnerrrr
Yeahhhh
I love how the chorus gets more and more intense and in the end Hayley sings it to end the song on a powerful note. Fucking Epic 🔥
the way paramore can have a new updated sound but still make it sound like paramore is amazing and i am so excited for the entire album to release in february. THANK YOU PARAMORE FOR STILL MAKING ALL THIS AMAZING MUSIC!!!! WE ARE PARAMORE!!!!
Agree
I'm so glad that they did something new, but there is still somehow "Paramore vibes". And that's all I needed ❤️
They don't sound like Paramore at all. The Paramore sound was the Farro brothers and Jeremy and they way Hayley could sing until their self titled album back in '13. After that is just Hayley's project with some musicians and how they want to fit with the current era's trend (5 years ago the "back to the '80s", now the mixture of the '70s fashion and the '90s sound). I'm a die hard fan of Paramore since like day one, I accepted the last album but this song is not my favourite. I miss those angry but healthy and clear vocals, man. This whispering kinda singing in the first verse is absolutely empty. Only the bridge sounds cool and powerful to me.
The best 30th birthday present for me.. Its a completely new era.. Im excited
@@g4b3_28 thank you for this comment I’ve seen so many people say that it still sounds like Paramore and I think that’s totally wrong. Honestly I’m disappointed with most of the music from bands that I loved in the past, it’s almost like the passion in the music making is all gone, the diversity, the vocal power, the spark is all gone and it’s sad to see. Not saying they aren’t talented anymore but this is selling out energy and I’m just saying it how it is
Hayley’s moves are so raw. I’ve never seen anyone move like that

The cinematography is stunning and I love Hayley’s look. It’s like Hayley’s solo music meets HalfNoise with some Paramore flair. Those classic Paramore drums. 👌🏻👌🏻 Her vocals are quite different! What a groove this song is.

Man it’s so cool how Paramore’s music grows with them! This new album feels so fresh, Paramore are bloody legends 🤙
It's amazing how they manage to reinvent themselves and explore new sounds but still have the essence that makes them Paramore. I love it.
My only complaint is the guitar instrumentals suffered from losing the original guitarists...other than of course, I agree with you, I love Paramore.
@@kingzach74 I don't know, Taylor is pretty phenomenal as a guitarist and producer. The original guitarists were much younger and less experienced, and had an immature sound comparatively. But at least we agree that we love Paramore :D
Essence that makes them paramore? Hayley who's naturally gifted at singing has effects on her voice, sounds awful and I've waited years for this, so disappointed, like I can't think of myself ever listening to this ever again
@@kingzach74 Josh's playing was pretty generic emo/poppunk shit. power chords and tremolo-picked single-line solos. how did they suffer by losing that? time to move on, bud, hes's been gone for a decade
Reinvent and explore; yes. Having the essence of what has been Paramore; no.
The dancing is so psychedelic. I love it.

As a drummer, it's so fun to see him transition from the more aggressive harder hitting stuff to the technical, subtle grooves he's doing now. He is absolutely fenomenal
Everyone's playing is fucking great and they all have banging lines. Bass is groovy, guitar is very ethereal in this one and the drums are equally floaty but switch to perfectly tight when necessary.
It has always been phenomenal. I still can't get over his "Let the flames begin" perfomance on The Final Riot.

I was 17 when Paramore first broke out and I wasn't a huge fan, I was a huge metal head and classic rock head at the time and was never apart of the emo craze, but nowadays I really see how good songwriters the new band is and how their paying homage to older rock pop funk and it's catchy as hell, reminds me of what MGMT went through, their breakout songs were very pop inspired but even they admitted it wasn't their forte , they were into psychedelic rock and chose to go that route at the cost of losing alot of fans but that was when I truly fell in love with their music

yesss. the first time i listened to it, I wasn't really into it till i listened to it again😭
It's so fucking catchy.
Easily one of my favourite songs right now. I always sing the chorus whenever im stressed out in public 😅
Congrats PARAMORE! Y’all deserve this so much! We hope to see more work from y’all ❤
The chorus is catchy as hell and I really dig the old-school vibe they went for both visually and musically. Judging by Hayley's comments from a while back, if there's more songs like this on the new album, I know I'll enjoy it because I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. The last Foo Fighters album that came out had songs that felt kinda similar to this one on it and it got me more into them as a result, so I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of This Is Why.
What's funny about this comment is I think of the last Foo Fighters album as being Dream Widow, not Medicine at Midnight, which is certainly not an old-school vibe. But I guess it's technically not Foo Fighters.

Growing up with you has been the greatest honor of my life. Paramore forever
literally.
Paramore deserve those grammys!!!
Ok this ABSURD album just made me LOVE Paramore. Just... Thank you
The reason why I love Paramore so much is all the songs fit into my situations so well like so freaking damn well and they’re all so relatable. And yeah of course, the music they deliver is nothing but a masterpiece. Soooo sooo freaking happy about this reunion 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Paramore is the best 🤘 but you have to listen to “ Winding Road “ by SLT 🔥🎧🔥… right away!!! You are missing out !!!
My only problem is this wasn't released last year 😭 when I didn't leave the house 😂😂
Your not the only one
this is why I WON'T EVER STOP LOVING THIS BAND
I love this. The Talking Heads energy is so welcome. They nailed it on all levels.
🥺🥺🥺 in LOVE! catch myself singing this daily! Been listening to Paramore since I was a teen. Always a hit always surprising. Love love love it.
As an introvert I approve this song lmao .. I love that y’all still have music coming out. I’ve been listening to older songs the past few days reminiscing
Introversion is awesome I fully embrace it. Lemme ask you something though, as an introvert do you get a lot of "you're anti social" or just people treating introversion like a mental illness when in reality it's just "no, you're just loud af." I just find it funny. "He's anti-social we gotta help him get out more." No-one tells loud ass mfs to stay in and be quiet more. What's up with that?
@@woadblue for me it’s more like I used to feel very uncomfortable being social but ppl do tell me I’m very mysterious or keep to myself but for a wanting me to let them kind of way. Yeah sometimes ppl do come off obnoxious 😂 but I’m finding that once I became more aware and confident in who I was now I want to be more outgoing since I’m not so self conscious lol. Finding my balance lol
@@naturallybecoming831 interesting. Thanks for sharing, I'm just a curious person.
