They don't sound like Paramore at all. The Paramore sound was the Farro brothers and Jeremy and they way Hayley could sing until their self titled album back in '13. After that is just Hayley's project with some musicians and how they want to fit with the current era's trend (5 years ago the "back to the '80s", now the mixture of the '70s fashion and the '90s sound). I'm a die hard fan of Paramore since like day one, I accepted the last album but this song is not my favourite. I miss those angry but healthy and clear vocals, man. YES! The drums and the bass are actually my favorite part of the song 😅 Taylor looks like he was actually enjoying himself in the music video lol Hayley’s energy and vocals are always unmatched! I seen them perform this two days ago and she sings it differently every time, but never overdoes it. If this album contains elements of funk (like the snipped of The News), we’re in for another treat! Can’t wait 🔥
Seeing a band of prodigies who started touring worldwide in their teens and haven't stopped since having complete creative freedom is totally fascinating. This will go down in history y'all...!
@@kingzach74 I don't know, Taylor is pretty phenomenal as a guitarist and producer. The original guitarists were much younger and less experienced, and had an immature sound comparatively. But at least we agree that we love Paramore :D
Essence that makes them paramore? Hayley who's naturally gifted at singing has effects on her voice, sounds awful and I've waited years for this, so disappointed, like I can't think of myself ever listening to this ever again
@@kingzach74 Josh's playing was pretty generic emo/poppunk shit. power chords and tremolo-picked single-line solos. how did they suffer by losing that? time to move on, bud, hes's been gone for a decade
60 years old and Paramore has been and remains one of my favorite alt bands. Love how the band and Hayley have evolved and matured over the years. Hope the rest of the album is this good!
Her dancing actually enhances the music for me. Adds yo the fluidity of it. That's how you do a music video. The whole vibe just fits the song so perfectly
I feel lucky to have grown up with this band tbh. I’m always so happy with their releases and how they progress as musicians and people. It feels like a personal soundtrack for my own growth
As a drummer, it's so fun to see him transition from the more aggressive harder hitting stuff to the technical, subtle grooves he's doing now. He is absolutely fenomenal
Everyone's playing is fucking great and they all have banging lines. Bass is groovy, guitar is very ethereal in this one and the drums are equally floaty but switch to perfectly tight when necessary.
this is my 3 year old’s favorite song. he sings it constantly and when we get in the car i have a little boy chanting “this is why! this is why!” in the backseat. i am a proud mother.
@@OTB2002 haha I understand it's probably a controversial choice but I have never heard a Paramore song that made me want to listen to it over and over before.
@@OTB2002 I don't really think of Paramore as metal at all but I guess it depends on your perspective. I'm more into bands like Slayer, Cannibal Corpse and Gojira.
@@OTB2002 Paramore is definitely not Metal. Alt-Rock is best suited. Pop first and foremost then Punk, Rock, some New Wave characteristics, with a sprinkle of emo elements. They are genre-defying & that's what makes them standout. Something even my fav Metal bands haven't accomplished yet.
The funky grooves in this song are absolutely undeniable. It's like they managed to combine the awesome 80s vibes of After Laughter with the explosive rock vibes of their earlier work. With some Hayley solo material thrown in for good measure. This is working for me 100%. Can't wait for the whole album.
Love the chord choices in this song. Wasn't originally a fan of the way Paramore started to evolve out of their pop-punk sound, but this a very groovy catchy tune with interesting harmonic choices.
Paramore, hits it out of the park with this arrangement. Love the songs intro! It's all over the place & chaotic, and then that bass line comes in to smooth it out. The more I listen to it the more it grows on me.
@@jamesloder8652 who cares? theyre appreciating the music, does it really matter if they mess up one small comma? who gives a f*ck, just appreciate the majesty of this amazing song

As an introvert I approve this song lmao .. I love that y’all still have music coming out. I’ve been listening to older songs the past few days reminiscing
Introversion is awesome I fully embrace it. Lemme ask you something though, as an introvert do you get a lot of "you're anti social" or just people treating introversion like a mental illness when in reality it's just "no, you're just loud af." I just find it funny. "He's anti-social we gotta help him get out more." No-one tells loud ass mfs to stay in and be quiet more. What's up with that?
@@woadblue for me it’s more like I used to feel very uncomfortable being social but ppl do tell me I’m very mysterious or keep to myself but for a wanting me to let them kind of way. Finding my balance lol
This is why... I'm still a fan after all these years. Paramore still continues to put out bangers that resonate so well and Hayley still has an unbelievable stage presence. Paramore forever!!!! 🙌
as a little ex emo kid that listened to them since the beginning, I am beyond happy to see my favourite band still putting out music that's just great and fun to listen to. …also, the video?! I am in love.
I’d say I’ve been a casual paramore fan, bought a few singles here and there, saw them with another band- but I am obsessed with this album. I don’t know how or why. I’m like proper middle aged and rockin out in my car like I’m a teenager just discovering their new favorite band.
Any 60/70s aesthetic gets me. I love that! What a mature song and what outstanding amazing voice Hayley has shown here. I’m gonna keep returning here for a while ❤
Never listened to Paramore and then I heard this song and fell in love with it. Now I am going back and listening to their discography and so glad I am doing so. What an incredible band.
Everytime I listen to Paramore or Hayley's solo work, it continues to amaze me how wide her range is. A true artist. Along with the Stereophonics, Paramore have become my top bands.

The chorus is catchy as hell and I really dig the old-school vibe they went for both visually and musically. Judging by Hayley's comments from a while back, if there's more songs like this on the new album, I know I'll enjoy it because I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. The last Foo Fighters album that came out had songs that felt kinda similar to this one on it and it got me more into them as a result, so I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of This Is Why.
What's funny about this comment is I think of the last Foo Fighters album as being Dream Widow, not Medicine at Midnight, which is certainly not an old-school vibe. But I guess it's technically not Foo Fighters.
the fact that I can trace back all of the phases of my life from 11 to now (25) years old with their (and hayley's solo) music makes it that much more lovely ❤ so grateful
@@Brianna-ju4cl I know what you mean but I think the concept of this comment is meant to say: "I love when bands are being themselves , create music THEY like, and don't care too much about the public opinion". I think paramore is just that kind of band and it always seems to work out great for them. Hence maybe that's why we like them.

Hayley’s energy and vocals are always unmatched! I seen them perform this two days ago and she sings it differently every time, but never overdoes it. If this album contains elements of funk (like the snipped of The News), we’re in for another treat! Can’t wait 🔥

It's amazing how they manage to reinvent themselves and explore new sounds but still have the essence that makes them Paramore. I love it.
My only complaint is the guitar instrumentals suffered from losing the original guitarists...other than of course, I agree with you, I love Paramore.
Reinvent and explore; yes. Having the essence of what has been Paramore; no.
this is why I WON'T EVER STOP LOVING THIS BAND
I'm loving the 70's vibes both musically and aesthetically.
It reminds me of the Arctic Monkeys and their two latest albums.
It's 60's
Me too. I can't wait to hear and see what kind of vibe the rest of the album has.
More 60s, the aesthetic and her outfit and hairstyle
You can thank Brenden Yates for the aesthetic! Has Turnstile vibes all over it
Hayley’s moves are so raw. I’ve never seen anyone move like that
Literally anyone dancing in the 1960s.
Growing up with you has been the greatest honor of my life. Paramore forever

I’ve never known a band to so beautifully evolve.

Well said.
They really have, I enjoy that about them so much
Aging ever so gracefully .. still as fire as ever.

60 years old and Paramore has been and remains one of my favorite alt bands. Love how the band and Hayley have evolved and matured over the years. Hope the rest of the album is this good!

Can we please not ignore how good Zac’s drumming is on this song
yesss
Yes
As a drummer, it's so fun to see him transition from the more aggressive harder hitting stuff to the technical, subtle grooves he's doing now. He is absolutely fenomenal
Everyone's playing is fucking great and they all have banging lines. Bass is groovy, guitar is very ethereal in this one and the drums are equally floaty but switch to perfectly tight when necessary.
It has always been phenomenal. I still can't get over his "Let the flames begin" perfomance on The Final Riot.
Easily one of my favourite songs right now. I always sing the chorus whenever im stressed out in public 😅
The fact that Paramore/hayley can change their music style so many times and still release bops is a testament to them as artists
that intro is everything and Hayley will forever remain one of the best vocalists of our generation
The more you listen to this song the better it gets.

Introversion is awesome I fully embrace it. Lemme ask you something though, as an introvert do you get a lot of "you're anti social" or just people treating introversion like a mental illness when in reality it's just "no, you're just loud af." The chorus is catchy as hell and I really dig the old-school vibe they went for both visually and musically.
