    I had an old guitar when I was growing up - don't know what I did with it! I used to knock out Beatles hits and also Eddy Chocran; Buddy Holly and my favourite Be-Bop-A-Lula by Gene Vincent. I don't know who the guitar had once belonged to but I think it might be worth a lot of money now!! I'll try and find it!

    20 Flight Rock was a perfect selection for this impromptu audition - not an easy song to play by any stretch, and a super cool rock song that any band would have liked to be able to play at a gig. Paul knew that the immediate thought would be that they could immediately add this cool tune to their set list.

    Agreed that this is arguably one of the most historic events in the history of popular music. It’s just not very accurately portrayed, but still thrilling nonetheless. The Quarrymen did not sing ‘Maggie May’ at this first public appearance. Lazy research.

    • @liamfitzdrums
      @liamfitzdrums 11 месяцев назад +2

      Biopics usually take some artistic liberties with their stories. In the case of this film, it's a story about a young man and his new found relationship with his mother. In this case, the characters are John and Julia Lennon. The reason why they used Maggie May for this scene is because it's the song that Julia teaches John on the banjo, which further drives the point home of the theme of the film.

      work electrician .And read a orbitury about his passing, then went on to tell a long and winding tale to his kids about how he nearly joined a group that could have changed the world !! Unless I’ve just made that up 😉

    i say it all the time, and people, FANS need to grasp this fact of life, John was a really deep and real person, an activist, a true artist, he stuck his neck out knowing it would only get slashed, and he was fine with that, that's an artist, Paul was a simple man who made music and was good at it, and had no problem sticking his head in the sand, that was the difference, it's like Tupac and Biggie, both are great, but you cannot compare them, one has 1 spice and the other 10 spices
