Hey thanks man, appreciate the feedback. Gonna make some more videos soon on the mega 360 my new hobie kayak and the 2021 tourney fishing season so I stay tuned!
I didn't quite understand your recommendation for the range setting. You said a general rule of thumb is range should be 3x your depth, but then immediately following that statement you said at 10ft depth you set range to 50ft. So did you mean the rule of thumb should be range is 5x your depth?
Thanks buddy I need to update I have found a couple new tricks that I wanna show. Such as using dynamic contrast, so u can bump up sensitivity a little more. I also have mega 360 now and I would like to film that
Chart speed is how fast your screen displays and brings back new info. If you run 1 it collects and pings less than speed of 10. Has nothing to do with water speed. I had that messed up for years myself.
Right but if u run a 10 chart speed and ur only doing 2mph it's gonna ping that target many times so it's gonna make it seem bigger than it is. It will also clutter the screen, I still think keeping chart speed and boat speed matched or close is really important.
I was thinking that too. But even on the 2d sonar u can clearly see the thermo aroubd that 12 foot mark. Lake has max depth of 30 feet and is only 25 acres
Great simple tutorial. Thanks for the help!
by far the best video i have seen on this topic! thanks for doing this!
Thanks I appreciate the support !
Awesome video!! I just got a Helix 9 (actually won it!). You video was incredibly helpful! Hitting the water tomorrow with my new settings
Cool good luck I appreciate the support check out my latest video on how to put it to use
Nice video Jon, I appreciate the information.
Fantastic video, man. Really helped a lot. Found you through FB and glad I did.

Honestly after using the units for many more years I always keep my range between 50-70ft in the mega frequency and almost never change it.
The way I understood it is whatever your water depth is add 10 ft to your range
Great video.......... subbed and liked 👍

@@azurwth01 That make since. I am going to try that and see how it does.
I don't think you will see a thermocline in 9' of water. Good general information though.

Goes a bit too fast, overall VG.
Sorry lol I wanted to bang it out quick before I lost thoughts, I need to do an update actually I've learned a few new tricks
You need to try sensitivity to 16 contrast 4 and sharp on low. My pics are way better than those
I started bringing my sensitivity to about a 12 contrast 10 with dynamic contrast on
You should change it each time your out not just set it on something and leave it tbh
You go to fast
