- In the first of my Hawaii Hikes series, we take a look at the west trail of NouNou mountain which is more commonly known as Sleeping Giant. It's on the east side of Kauai and can be accessed from the Wailua Homesteads. It's a very popular destination for locals and tourists. While it's only 738' above sea level, it boasts breathtaking views of the shoreline and inland views.

So that's why you hated rain on the AT. It's because you are forced to deal with it every day at home. Makes sense to me now.
Great video... just moved to Kauai (west side). What are your footwear recommendations? Looks like you have some mini-gaiters. TIA
Aloha! I hike in trail runners. Altras or Topo athletics. Let's get a hike in sometime! Welcome to Kauai!
@@GrizzleGear awesome - thank you!
Have you told the story of how you ended up living there? Or were you born there? There doesn't seem to be many people living on that Island. :)
I haven't told the story. Not much to it. I sold I everything owned 8 years ago and moved here. :) Well... It is maybe a lil more interesting than that... Ill tell all eventually. :)
