I hope he has a friend or you spend time w him constantly, looks like he’s in a garage or a room people aren’t always in, birds are extremely social and live in flocks.
This is great!! I built my finch cage into an old closet that i flipped on its side but I wish I had done this instead. Must be good light coming in for him :) Ready to make the move to bioactive from newspapers! Nice video!!
I had the idea for bioactive bird keeping, since I keep reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates and I'm always trying to advance their husbandry by going bioactive. My mom keeps parrots and oneday I will inherit them. I was wondering if bioactive was an option for them and I assumed there would be tons of content and resources for this. Then when I searched for it this was the only video that came up.
Great idea, however, you possibly put your bird in danger, and anyone else's bird. Mesh and hardware need to be zinc free. During, needs to be sterilized and organic with. Clean isopods, and other soil breaking insects (from a reptile store. Plants MUST be bird safe, insecticide and organic, or ANY of these things can kill your bird. Oh, and wood, chemical free, plus birds will chew through it. Great concept, but a lot of issues to address.
Maybe try to dont get parasites...If you buy earth or coco fiber for Terrarium it should be clean, get springtails and isopods and maybe some plants and there is your bioactive enclosure.
@@ddaniel469 no. I never said that. 1. My bird doesn’t have an aviary. My dog had been outside. And the bird landed on him. And they have always gotten along well. And he’s a large bird. And the dirt from the dog had parasites like mites. And gave it to our bird.

Not much bird content like this l'd enjoy more, keep going honestly.
How is this bird enclosure coming along recently? I have been considering this idea for some time.

I’m surprised at how little videos there are on bioactive bird enclosures compared to other reptiles and tank animals.
Glad to see your channel doing good now
I am looking to setup a bioactive indoor aviary, but I see some potential issues with this one. I'd love to get an update.
I hope you research what kind of plants you put in that thing!
Try giving the bird more toys, otherwise he might get bored.
